I’m pretty fond of cycling. I’m not so fond of some of my fellow cyclists– however. There seems to be this weird arrogance that surrounds this sport… which, very often carries over to the cycling shops at well. Not so with Cahaba cycles. They are super friendly and let you know that they appreciate you as a customer. Additionally, they stock a nice selection of apparrel, shoes, helmets, etc– along with bikes for every age– at every stage. The only reason they didn’t get a full 5 stars, is that occasionally they have employees who may be enthusiastic and experienced cyclists– but maybe not so experienced with the problems/needs of the customer that doesn’t share their particular form of the sport. That said– they do have a GEM of a diagnostic and skilled cyclying mechanic. He was able to discern a year long problem I’ve had with diffculty in «clipping out” — by looking at my shoe, and the shape of my foot. He also fixed a gear issue that nobody else had been able to– including his collegues. Ask for IAN– he’ll take care of you!

I got a set of race wheels from these guys and they were awesome about everything. I was racing in Madison, WI and they packaged teh wheels for me after I realized I coudn’t fit them in a case I had at home. They were super friendly. I was also expecting slighly colder weather on race day and I was on the fence about buying a set of arm warmers. They gave them to me and told me to keep in my bag and if I didn’t use em then they wouldn’t charge me for em. I’ve never experienced this type of hospitality and friendliness from a bike shop. I would definately recommend them.
