Tucked on the second floor of an office building in the heart of Beverly Hills, at only 100 square feet, The Nerrivik Studio offers one-​on-​one attention and privacy a large salon can’t. An attention to detail, influence of art and culture, and cross-​generational style are at the forefront of my aesthetic. With these goals in mind, I’ve created a space free of distractions and intimidation where we can get down to the business of great cuts and beautiful color.

During my tenure in the top salons in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Silverlake, I often imagined what I would do differently if I had my own. When the opportunity came, I jumped knowing exactly how I would make my salon about personal connections and realizing individual taste and style.

History

Established in 2012.

The Nerrivik Studio opened in the Salon90210 space on Cañon Drive in Beverly Hills April of 2012.

Alexis maintains a relationship with Phyto Hair Care, Wella Color, and most recently Purely Perfect Hair Care available in the salon February 2015.

Business Owner

After 10 years in the beauty industry in Los Angeles, Alexis Roberts Keiner opens The Nerrivik Studio: an independent, single chair, micro-​salon in Beverly Hills.

Alexis is known for her easy approach toward cuts and styling with a firm belief that «the haircut should do the work for you». Alexis’ technique is rooted not only Vidal Sassoon training, her Silverlake style, and Beverly Hills finish, but in her background as a visual artist and painter. She works with each client to achieve an evolving look that suits the personal style, hair texture, and lifestyle of the client.

During Alexis’ career she has worked with industry heavyweights such as Chris McMillian and José Eber. She has worked as a Technical Specialist for Wella teaching hair color to professional colorists and as an educator for Phyto Hair Care.

Alexis is amazing she is part laid back bohemian and part scholarly intellectual its pretty incredible, basically she is the coolest I have ever met. She has an amazing eye for shape and can tailor any look you ask for to work you. Words cannot express how great she is, she is worth every penny and then some!

Alexis has been cutting my hair for about 10 years. She has given me every kind of cut from boy short to my now long hair. Every step of the way she has created a unique cut that is not just the same old thing and fits me very well. On a side note, if you are an actor she is very good at helping you find the hair cut that will book you work… Just Sayin.

No effusive language could successfully convey the gem that is Nerrivik micro-​salon, nor the talent of Alexis — dynamic owner and maestro with the scissors.
For well over 4 years Alexis has cut my hair; I have never been disappointed in the resulting ‘do. To be candid, she is not the cheapest stylist in Los Angeles, but I promise, she is worth every penny! Her haircuts grow out so well that I have often gone more than 6 months before scheduling a second cut. As a denizen of the eastside, I admit Beverly Hills is a serious trek for a hair appointment, but I’d travel anywhere to have Alexis cut mine.

I’ve been going to Alexis since about 2006, I have followed her from Silver Lake to Beverly Hills because she’s the best. Her skills are excellent, of course, but she’s also just great to spend an hour with. Reasonable and down to earth, never ever the least bit snooty but with all the knowledge and products and skills of a super fancy-​pants snooty salon. Adore her.

Alexis is the best. Even though she’s in Beverly Hills and I’m on the East Side, it is worth every minute stuck in traffic on Santa Monica. She’s the coolest and gives me an amazing haircut that lasts for months and months and months. She truly is an artist and I get endless compliments on my hair for its unique look. I have a pretty professional job so I have to look like a «Monday» sometime, but after hours with a little gel I can get to «Late Friday» in a snap… Alexis is just the best.

Alexis is a master stylist. I’ve been going to her for almost 7 years now — following her around wherever she goes. She’s amazing at asymmetrical and unique looks (a true artist) but can also work with traditional — which is what I usually go for. She just did my color for the first time and I got so many compliments on it — she rocked that too. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She’s also super interesting and creative and one of the nicest people I know.

I have been following Alexis since she started in Silver Lake and I can honestly say, I have never had a less than STELLAR hair cut. She is a magical person, both as a stylist and just a wonderful person to be around. There have been times when she has had to color my hair (I am an actor) and she can magically get my hair back to it’s natural color post shoot… no roots… did I mention I have red hair? Not easy to do.
I am not quite sure why the reviews give her $$… Her cuts are $ 175 these days (but maybe the reviews are old??). Regardless, she is a steal, even at that price point. Worth every penny, every time.

AMAAAAAAZING!!! Well, I’m going with the idea that fate brought Alexis and I together, for I found her in a completely random way and I took a leap of faith. I’m THRILLED that I did.
Alexis is a true artist who cares about making the person in the chair look good and feel good. The whole experience from start to finish was easy, peaceful, playful and joyous… And, the best part about it is that I LOVE my haircut!
I just turned 40 (yikes!); was cutting 9 inches off of my hair to donate it in honor of my beloved Mom who passed away from brain cancer in 2011; and I was going to have really short hair for the first time since 7th grade… So, the pressure was ON! And, in every way Alexis delivered. I cannot write enough wonderful things about her as a professional; and artist; and a person. Go to Alexis NOW and never look back!

I am so grateful to have found Alexis! I went to cosmetology school last year, so of course my hair has been damaged from all the different tints, bleach and toners I was experimenting with. When I came to Alexis I had kind of chunky highlights on top and the ends of my hair were totally bleached out. I had been trying to get out of the all over bleach but it wasn’t working the way i wanted it. The second I sat in her chair I felt so comfortable and told her i wanted hombre but not the hombre that everyone has, and I wanted the highlights to still be white blonde. She new EXACTLY what I was talking about!!! She got it done very quick, and the color came out perfect! She didn’t even need to tone it. Needless to say, I will not be going anywhere else for my hair.

Love Alexis! Went to her for the first time and she spent the first 15 minutes just talking to me about my hair, it’s quirks, and really learning about how it behaves. With that knowledge, she was able to give me an amazing cut that actually does what I want it to do and is totally manageable by myself. After the cut, she took me on a tour of the haircut — explained what she did and why and how I could maintain the look on my own. As someone completely inept when it comes to hair and styling, this is exactly what I needed. Plus, she is a super awesome person.
Best hair experience in a long time and I will continue to go back!

I’ve been following Alexis all over the west side ever since she first cut my hair in 2008. Who else would giggle with delight when you brought her a photo of Keith Richards for hairspiration? And who else could ACHIEVE the Patti-​Smith-​via-​Keef, boxcutter-​chic hairdo of my dreams?
Feels wrong somehow that I have to drive to Beverly Hills to get the perfect anti-​coif, but fuck it. I’d drive to Palm Springs if I had to.

The math on this is so simple. I’m a 35 yo man. I’ve been going to Alexis for 10 years. Through 4 different salons as she advanced in her career. I travel a lot, so I have also had many other people cut my hair within the last decade. The simple part is this… when Alexis cuts my hair, people ALWAYS say «your hair looks great!!!» I mean random strangers I meet, anyone. It always astounds me with it’s consistency. I moved to LA from Vancouver BC in Aug 2010 and turned to Unilocal as soon as I arrived to find a new hair stylist. I came upon a set of impressive reviews of Alexis Roberts who was then at Helmet in W Hollywood. I booked an appointment — and I was impressed. When Alexis moved to Beverly Hills last fall, I figured it would be easier to simply find someone new to cut my hair in my neighbourhood. After a few months of mediocre haircuts, I decided it wasn’t worth the convenience — I just wanted an Alexis-​cut again. I returned to her in December 2011 and am thrilled about her new set-​up in a micro-​studio at 338 N Canon (tons of free parking btw).
Three reasons why I love Alexis:
1. She is an artist. She actually is. I feel like her work with my hair is just an extension of her work with canvas.
2. She has expertise, experience and vision. At my first appointment with Alexis, I had pretty short hair, and told her that I wanted to grow it out. I just sensed I was in good hands as she talked me through what the growing-​out process would look like, how long it would take, and what to anticipate during the process. She was right every step of the way.
3. She has talent. Period. My cuts are always perfect for me. They grow out well. I get compliments.

I’ve been going to Alexis for hair help for at least 5 or 6 years. I started with her in Silver Lake and now travel to BH (in spire of a dislike for driving and BH) just to see her. Why?
Because Alexis understands my hair and my feeble styling skills and creates a haircut that makes the most of both.
She’s also a very fine human who I’ve enjoyed talking to over the course of many years.

I first found Alexis by seeing someone with an AMAZING hair cut and begged her to give me her stylists name/​number, which was Alexis! When I first went to Alexis, I had easy, non-​challenging long hair. She hooked me up with such amazing cuts best for me! Since then, I have gone through some health changes which effected my hair. Alexis has taken on the challenge and with product, education and her amazing cuts, I’m at the tail-​end of the problem era, and almost back to being non-​challenging again! I appreciated her so much before I ran into hair issues. She took what could have easily become a horrific, scary time in my life, and made it a time that was a non-​issue, and gave me a cut to work with my challenges so I could regrow my hair and feel amazing while it was growing back. Alexis is famous for working her magic on hard-​to-​tame hair, namely on men.
i wouldn’t know. i’m a women with (knock on wood) ‘non-​difficult’ straight long hair, and Alexis puts as much thought & effort into my haircut as she does on her more complicated clients. i always leave with a haircut that, not only lasts for months, but actually grows into itself and somehow looks better & better with each passing week. this is why i have followed her since 2004, through several salons, even as her rates have increased (she’s not the cheapest, but she’s damn good). and the bonus is that you’ll actually LIKE Alexis — she’s laid back, sincere, funny, and has impeccable taste.
