I cannot understand people leaving 1-​star reviews only because the guy had a «middle eastern accent». This is impolite and quite racist, don’t you think?
My experience with Michael Kamali left rather a different impression and that of a kind person, with thorough knowledge of his trade. I enjoyed this experience and I am sure you will too.

I found Sun Insurance by Googling local homeowner insurance brokers. My first impression when I called was that this is a one man show that is built to look like a much larger company. The man that answered (Michael Kamali) had a heavy accent that sounds middle eastern. He had a very aggressive demeanor and insisted that I come into his Beverly Hills office. If you’re searching for the typical sleazy insurance salesman type then this is your guy!

As with those progressive commercials, it may get a little hairy when you shop for insurance, and you haven’t in a while. So one day, I actually got online to a couple of different websites to shop for insurance to get a good quote. The day after, I got a call from Michael Kamali saying that he received a request for a quote, all I could think is WTF???, until he gave me the quote over the phone. We set up a meeting in his office overlooking Santa Monica & Wilshire in Beverly Hills. Nice guy with a funny demeanor and an accent. He kind of reminded me of Eugene Levy, but he pulled every trick in the book to get me a really low monthly premium compared to other places and he stresses that he never charges a brokers fee.
