The Cohen Insurance Agency opened its doors October 1, 2012. We take pride in representing State Farm and we make sure that each and every policy holder is treated with the highest level of service that can only be offered by the nation’s # 1 insurance company.

Our Agency was built on the belief that happy clients and happy employees equals success. We have always focused more than just auto and home insurance. We believe it is also our duty to help our clients by educating them and also offering financial services to help plan their future. Our Agency will continue to grow with our great staff, loyal customers, and new partnerships.

My whole family is insured through this office. When my child joined the military, they helped us get insurance through a State Farm office in El Paso, TX. Now that he is finally home for good, they have taken care of getting his car insured in California and are his agents. Perla is absolutely wonderful! Thank you all!

This office was so great! Until I needed to cancel. I moved and got much cheaper car insurance. The second I wanted to cancel, Afshin became a sexist, rude, sorry excuse for an insurance agent.
I called back in March to change my address and ask what the price differences will be and was told my address was being changed, effective for my move date. But when I called to cancel a month later, it hadn’t been changed. And when I looked at my statement, my price was raised.
Speaking to Perla, she helped as much as she could and was friendly. Thankfully, Afshin hired nice people so he doesn’t have to be nice himself. When I told him I wanted to cancel my renters and life along with my car, he mentioned the crying baby in the background. «Are you sure you want to cancel your life insurance policy? I hear a baby in the background.» A. It’s none of his business. B. Would you ask a man that question??? No I don’t think you would. And then let’s revisit the «I’ll change your address, but I don’t have to. I’ll do it though.» Of course you’ll do it, because your team didn’t change it properly the first time. Your employee’s incompetence is not my fault.
And last but not least, they will not give you the refund price. When I cancelled Geico to switch to State Farm, I was given an exact amount and it was back in my bank account the following day. State Farm not only cannot transfer the funds back into my account, they can’t even give me the amount that I’ll be credited back.
Honestly, this office WAS so great!!! So if you sign up with them, just make sure to never cancel and to never be a woman. Although to me, I never would have signed up if I had known Afshin is a sexist, judgmental, mean man.

This is THE BEST insurance I’ve had, both price wise, coverage and customer service. Any problems you have, they take care of it ASAP and don’t make you feel like its a hassle for them. I like the fact you are actually talking to a person in a local office instead of calling an 800 number. It helps you build a good relationship with the customers. I have to thank Perla for always answering my calls and emails quickly, friendly, and always providing up to date information. And of course, Afshin, the man himself. If you have any needs, just let him know. Gets back to you fast and if he doesn’t know an answer he will research it and call you back. He will take care of you. 5 stars all the way!

Afshin and his team are amazing! I have been a loyal SF client for decades+ but have never had the service that I get from him and his office. They are always there to take a call and resolve a concern. Always there with the correct (not just right) answer… when we moved to the LA area 10 years ago we had another advisor who would never take a call… I didn’t want to switch agencies… so I looked him up. So glad that we made the switch and few years back… best decision ever. you will not be disappointed if you decide to go with State Farm and Afshin.

I recently went to Afshin for insurance and to set up an IRA. He sat with me for over an hour and explained all of the products I needed. The most refreshing part of this experience was he did not try to up-​sell me on several other products I really didn’t need. He is honest, knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and as the chant goes «Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there» he drove to my office to finalize the paperwork when I was ready to proceed. I have already recommended Afshin to friends and family and I will continue to do so in the future. All around great experience.

Perla, Ted and Afshin are THE BOMB. Super friendly and respond immediately to my needs. I just signed with them early this year and they were patient with me as it was my first time buying my own car insurance, even when I fell a little behind in payments they let me catch up and I always felt like the Afshin team had my back.
I got in a wreck this summer and they had me my insurance check in less than a week! I dare anyone to find an insurance company that works faster or friendlier. You can bet I’m going to stick around with them for awhile.

He also saved me a substantial amount of money (25%). Changing my Insurance broker to Mr. Cohen was a no brainer. Typically I don’t write reviews for businesses, however my experience with Mr. Cohen and his staff were exceptionally positive and I thought it would be worth sharing with the Unilocal community. I recently left another insurance for my auto insurance due to a price hike that I thought was unfair. I reached out to several local firms before I was fortunate enough to be connected with Mr. Cohen and staff. Not only were they friendly and easy to work with, but most importantly they were well informed and by far the most knowledgeable office that I had worked with. Mr. Cohen and his staff were able to find me a auto policy that fit my budget, but they were able to bundle several other of my insurance policies to save me a boat load of money. Its nice come across a firm that is trying to save you money as apposed to attempting to squeeze you for every penny. No one likes shopping for insurance and quite frankly before this experience I felt that insurance salesmen were tough to deal with, but I now feel I have a go-​to firm for all my future insurance needs. All in all a fantastic experience, I highly recommend working with this firm.

Afshin is great! I was in a bad situation with my homeowner insurance company and I needed to obtain new coverage immediately. I called Afshin on a Friday afternoon and within the hour, he was at my house and getting me all set up for a new policy with State Farm. He also set me up with new auto insurance, all at a cheaper rate than what I was previously paying. I had new coverage all set up by end of business day.
Afshin was friendly, professional, efficient, and knowledgable. I could not have asked for anyone better! I highly recommend Afshin when seeking any insurance policy. He is extremely responsive and gets the job done!

I was in a bind after a recent automobile accident I was involved in. I wasn’t at fault, and my insurance company at the time (Western General) was not going to bat for me at all. I ended up having to come out of pocket for my repairs, and spent over a month without a car because my policy didn’t include rental car coverage.
Out of curiously and frustration, decided to call State Farm and see if this kind of «customer service» was standard across all insurance companies…
…turns out, that is not the case at all. I spoke with a gentleman named Ted, who was very informative, easy to talk to, and did an incredible job of educating me on how things would’ve been different had I been covered by State Farm at the time of my accident.
Within a matter of minutes of being on the phone with Ted, I was switching over my policy to State Farm. It was refreshing to speak with someone who didn’t come across as just another sleazy insurance salesman trying to pressure me into buying something I didn’t need. His customer service was delivered in a way that didn’t feel like customer service. It was like a guy you’ve known your whole life just giving advice to his buddy. The kind of guy you’d want to grab a beer with after work.
The policy I went with has so much more than what I was getting before (including renter’s insurance) and it still ended up being cheaper than what I was paying for Western General.
I highly recommend State Farm. Wish I would’ve made the switch sooner. The peace of mind they provide makes it all worth it. I’ve never been this excited to get into an accident before.
