I had an excellent experience throughout my pregnancy and labor with Dr. Banooni. He always listened to my concerns and was open to my less conventional birth plan. I never felt rushed during my appointments and I never had a canceled appointment due to another patient’s labor (not sure how he managed that!). I had a high risk pregnancy but Dr. Banooni made me feel extremely confident throughout and in the end, I had a happy and healthy baby. During my stay at the hospital, he came on the weekend to check on me and made me feel like I was his most important patient. The office staff members, Julie and Nora, were a pleasure to see during my (many) appointments. I will say the billing notices can be a bit wonky, so it’s worth double checking that everything is accurate.

me to almost die because he refuse to take my baby so other doctor even up delivering my baby because he woulding take my baby my baby ripped my uterus if he wouldn’t have not said it’s better for the baby to be in side than out side my baby wouldn’t have ripped my uterus this doctor don’t listen only seen him twice the other it was his assistant i didn’t get no pictures of my baby ultrasound and on top they never gave me my papers for my tubes to be tide so now i’m pregnant again high risk and i pray that me and my baby make it out ok i was told that me and my baby want make it do to a doctor that woulding listen to me when i was complaining about pain.

I cannot say I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Banooni. He was over an hour late for my appointment, which is kind of outrageous. Going over my medical history as a new patient was uncomfortable and felt a bit judgmental. I cannot say he is a bad gyn, I just did not like the visit and general consultation.
The only reason I decided to write this review now, months later, is because I keep getting bills in the mail for amounts I have already paid. I keep calling the office and they say no balance is due. I am only hoping some random charge doesn’t go to collections, even though the office says my account is current.

Dr. Banooni’s calm demeanor and dry sense of humor was just what I needed to help keep me at ease throughout my complicated pregnancy and delivery. I’m so thankful for his care and that my little girl entered the world healthy, into his gentle hands.

Dr. Banooni is one of the BEST OBGYN’s out there! I have been going to him for over 7 years now and he has always been very professional, attentive, and caring. Whenever I have a question he always gets back to me right away and in a timely manner. He really cares for his patients and no matter what it is your are going through he makes it a point to help you understand the process /​procedures and makes you feel like you are always in good hands. His office staff and nurses are wonderful! If you are looking for an OBGYN Dr. Banooni and his team is who I always recommend.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Banooni and his office. I was referred to him by my wonderful rheumatologist Dr. Dahlia Carr and what a great referral. He is super smart, personable, professional and understanding. Right away, he changed up my medication to something he felt was both safer and more effective. Yes, to comments that there can be long wait times, this is true. I too have sat in his office for over 30 minutes especially if he is at the hospital. But I would rather wait for a good doctor I’m comfortable with then get in right away with someone that is not as good a doctor. I am so happy to have him as my doctor!

Dr. Banooni has been my OBGYN for a little over a year and I could not be happier. He is very professional and attentive answers all my questions and addresses my concerns every time I visit. If needed he will also make the time to see you the same day.
His office is clean and the staff is very nice and professional. I have recommended a few family members and friends all of which have had excellent experiences.
If you are looking for a OBGYN he is your guy! He actually cares and is a very genuine dr.

I am not someone to write reviews however I feel as if I do need to voice my concerns after today. I had a 9:30am appointment with Dr. Banooni and it is now 11:30am and I have not seen him. I ended up leaving his office and scheduling my annual check up with a different doctor. When I asked the front nurse how much longer she was pretty dismissive and told me it wasn’t a hold up on the Doctors end, it was because they only have two rooms and they don’t have a room for me. I waited another 15 and then asked again for an update. She told me once again no rooms were available, when I asked her how much longer she said 15 – 30 minutes. I then asked her if their was a better time of day to schedule with Dr. Banooni and she just responded «no!» I have only seen him once prior and I waited a long time then as well but nothing like today. I know Dr. Banooni himself is very knowledgeable and a great doctor but their are many others in Los Angeles that are too without the wait. I also had to pay $ 7.50 for parking and not even seeing a doctor.

I’m writing this as I sit here 50 minutes past my appoint the time and have yet to even get an update on when he will arrive to the office. This is my 3^rd visit, and I’ve had the same experience every time. The first time I showed up for my first visit at the 8:30am appt time only to be told that «oh, he isn’t here and won’t be in until 10:30am.» Then why did no one call me to cancel? The receptionist just shrugged her shoulders while also telling me they don’t validate parking. So I left, paid $ 10 minimum parking fee and rescheduled for a few days later.
My second visit I actually got to see the doctor but that was after waiting for over an hour. Dr Banooni was fine — I was happy with his care. That said, I was surprised to get a bill for almost $ 600 plus a separate bill for lab costs. An initial visit costs $ 350, and the rest of the charges were incorrectly submitted to my insurance provider which is why it wasn’t covered. Still trying to figure that out with the doctors office staff… we’ll see what happens. Additionally, no one ever called me about my lab results — I had to call them twice to try and get someone to give me an answer. They’re response: «hmmm that’s strange.»
Now I sit here still waiting for the doctor (now 1 hour past my spot time), when all I came in for is a follow up and a prescription… side note: I called the office today 2 hours before my appointment to confirm the time in order to prevent this delay AGAIN. Yet here I sit… waiting.
Very disappointed in Dr. Banooni’s office management. My time is valuable too but it’s clear that no one here respects that.

Be very careful. I called 3 weeks ahead made appointment for a general exam. The girl took my insurance info including policy number group number etc. This morning I took a über got there to be told… OOO we dont take your ppo insurance! WHAT! Why did you make the appointment with all the information if you are NOT in my network? Just shrugs the shoulders like who cares. Hey Doc Banooni I am not the only one complaining about your business practices. Clean up your act Or you wont have a practice! Dont take their word for anything well unless you like riding around the city in a über wasting your time!

This doc caused me a great depression. I came to him wanting a third, or fourth, opinion about treatment of severe dysmenorrhea. I told him I wanted to discuss a hysterectomy since I have already been treating the pain with depo provera and narcotics. I was deeply offended to hear him say no one is going to remove my uterus since I am 30… as if a 30 year old woman is incapable of making healthy life choices. I was very upset by this and decided to seek help outside of the country. I went to Mexico and found a great doc that help me to understand how terrible hormonal treatment is. He took my uterus out, and I am now pain free without the treatment of hormones. I guess that means women are capable. No uterus, still a woman! This doc is an ass!

I’m writing this as I wait to be seen for the appointment that was an hour and a half ago. When I asked receptionist how long it would be she said at least another 20 min. That was over 45 minutes ago. Time is valuable, you would think a doctor of all people would realize this.

During my time in the doctors office waiting for a consult before the exam, I was sat opposite his chair at his desk next to files of patients medical information. At this point my review was sitting on 1 star… then Dr. Banooni came in.
Dr. Banooni was sincerely apologetic for the waiting time. We discussed my medical and family history then headed to the exam room. Here, the nurse was waiting to take the basics and the Dr. Banooni came in shortly after. The exam (normally not a comfortable exam) was quick, efficient, and comfortable. Dr Banooni is very knowledgeable, professional and at the same time personable.
After the exam the a different nurse took my blood work for testing. During the conversation of my strong dislike of needles, she informed me that she had the ability to test my thyroid levels there. I was scheduled to go for thyroid testing directly after leaving Dr. Banooni, and now I didn’t have to! So I was saved from being poked with another needle, and also saved time and gas from going to another location. I was thrilled.
Dr. Banooni called in a BC refill to the pharmacy and said he would call me personally when results are in. Hopefullly the wait will not be an issue moving forward because everything else is GREAT!
End result: VERY PLEASED WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SERVICE OF DR. BANOONI AND HIS NURSES.

This review is for the Doctor as a GYN and may need to be updated if and when I return to the doctor. I was in desperate need and my usual doctor wasn’t working with my limited time slots. I was happy that Dr. Banooni was able to see me and was really surprised — well now I know why…
1. I scheduled an appointment to do 3 things — only 1 was done. I would have been OK with that if I had been told ahead of time, but I was expecting to get everything done and was disappointed. — 1 star
2. The wait was over an hour, even though a pharma rep sneaking into the back to «steal a minute» of the doctor’s time — 1 star
3. I was promised a call back on Monday, today is Wednesday and no call. I had to call 3 times after I was hung up on twice before after holding for over 15 minutes. — 1 star
The staff needs to follow up on their promises, it means something to us patients.
The doctor was very nice and knowledgeable, I had a problem due to another doctor’s mistake and was in a lot of pain, he took care of it and I feel so much better, that is the only reason why I am going back, I’m hoping the razzle dazzle me.

Dr. Banooni is an amazing doctor and person. He has a very calm demeanor but is also very funny. I delivered my first child with him 5 days ago and it was the best experience of my life! I will be a patient of his for years to come.

Dr. Banooni has been my OBGYN for many years now. He is such a genuine human being and cares about his patients. He has always been kind, patient, and above all, taken good care of me.
They also have a great office staff. I had to bring a friend of mine here who was several months pregnant, visiting internationally, on an emergency due to abdominal pain. They were able to get her in on a cancellation. We walked in, they quickly handled her paperwork, put her at ease while they did her intake, and we were in to see the doctor within 15 minutes of walking in the door. We got a diagnosis, and she and her baby were fine.
For any of the reviews regarding wait time — my waits have varied from 0 minutes to 30 minutes, but average about 10 – 15 minutes. I consider this within the norm for any doctors office. Life happens. Relax, read a surf magazine, play Angry Birds, text your friends.

I couldn’t decide whether to give him 2 or 3 stars but I opted for 3 simply because overall, I think he is probably a decent doctor. However, he was not good for me and I have very happily found a better OBGYN for myself.
First of all, the office is not well organized. Every time I had an appointment with him, I would end up sitting in the waiting room for at least an hour. It was an incredibly frustrating to waste so much time. One time, I had a job interview in the afternoon so I called the front desk to see if I could come in for an earlier appointment. The receptionist said that coming early would work. I came over an hour early, and not only was Banooni not available for an early appointment, he was actually late for the appointment we already had scheduled. I guess i should have seen that one coming. Regardless, if you choose Banooni as your doctor, you will waste hours upon hours of time in his office.
Plus, when I did see him, he was not the best doctor. He wasn’t bad, he just wasn’t very good. Here is my story: I originally went to Banooni as my husband and I were having trouble getting pregnant. He ran all sorts of tests, and concluded that we should be able to get pregnant. He saw some sort of ‘bubble’ in my uterus in an ultrasound, and said that it shouldn’t be a problem. For months, my husband and I continued trying and couldn’t conceive. Finally, we changed doctors. As it turns out, the ‘bubble’ was a polyp and once it was removed, I got pregnant immediately. As I am older, time really was a concern for me, and so the few months that I wasted going to Banooni could have had quite serious implications.
Finally, he is expensive and I am not sure what his relationship with insurance companies is. All I know is that is has been almost 9 months since I have been in his office and I am still getting bills form him.

Great doctor. He is kind and neat.
Clean up the area y’all take blood work a bit thou.
I had the genetic test done to see if I am pre-​disposed to have breast/​cervical cancers, I am in the high risk category. They said they would get back to me when they found out. A VERY IMPORTANT TEST!!! If it came back positive I would have my breast tissue removed and possibly parts of my reproductive parts. 4 weeks later I had not gotten any calls. So I called in to check. The lady who answered the phone was rude, she had no answers said she would call me back. Another week or so comes around. I call back, finally they have results, I express how upsetting how they treated me was, she was like well your negative and we couldn’t get through on your phone. WHAT?! maybe an email would work… dont make me feel stupid because I was stressed out over a test that is a BIG DEAL.
Other than that stuff this place is fine.

If you are a woman of color RUN FAR FAR AWAY or if you remotely care about a doctor who puts your health over his ability to charge you for unnecessary medical procedures or if you enjoy piss poor follow up this office is not for you. I made my appointment and specifically asked if they took CIGNA PPO, the receptionist said yes. In my visit while talking to Dr. Banooni he asked if my cycles were long and I said no
(this would have been an indication of fibroids as I don’t have them but have friends who do) so he proceeds to tell me that it is common in African American women
(duh I’m in the medical profession and know women who have had them). But none of my personal medical conversation was an indicator that I have them or a family history of them.
After my horrible experience he said I needed an ultrasound to make sure. I specifically asked is an ultrasound covered and he said if it’s medically necessary it is covered (but again nothing in my conversation with him said that it was medically necessary, only the color of my skin?) He not only does an ultrasound but couldn’t see anything with the topical ultrasound so he has to do a more painfully unnecessary ultrasound.
I asked for 2 things: My results which were normal and my blood type. I waited more 2 weeks to get my results. I decided to call after 2 weeks and 3 days I called the office call and was given my results for my pap smear and there were no results for my blood test. And after the poor follow up and unnecessary treatments I get a bill after being told by the staff and doctor they took my insurance.
It’s sad that you would risk doing painfully unnecessary procedures so that you can bill insurance companies more money to put in your pocket verses truly being concerned about your patients health. Karma is always peeking around the corner my friend. Be careful how you treat people when you don’t have their best interest at heart because if you continue to treat people this way and expect for great things to happen for you and your family, it is only a matter of time before you are on the receiving end of how you mistreat others. Please expect to get my certified formal dispute, a formal letter to of my charges and a call from my attorney.
Some things you can not get away with and messing with someones money and health is one them.

Dr. Banooni is amazing! I am a very difficult patient and Dr. Banooni has been incredibly patient with me throughout my difficult pregnancy and labor. He is very thorough and knowledgeable and has an incredible bedside manner.
We had to move to a different city in the middle of my pregnancy. We decided to stay with Dr. Banooni even though we were over an hour away and are so glad we did. Mine was not an easy delivery, but he never offered any unnecessary interventions and stayed calm and helped me through it. My husband is very impressed with Dr. Banooni as well (being a physician himself, he is not easily impressed by other physicians)
I always feel at ease after my appointments and feel like he answered all my million questions satisfactorily.
I also like his nursing staff, especially Daisy. Julie, his new receptionist is very good too.

I have never, ever met someone in any field, like Dr. Banooni. To the reviewer below who had to deal with his previous receptionist, I get it. She was terrible. She is gone.
Dr. Banooni is incredibly patient, understanding, and most importantly, has the most unbelievable bedside manner of any doctor in the world. My husband even looked forward to our appointments.
I had a relatively easy pregnancy health-​wise, but had terrible anxiety about the birth, the scheduled c-​section (for medical reasons), and being a Mom in general. Dr. Banooni got me through what I hope to be the hardest 9 months of my life physicologically. During my delivery, he was calm, funny, and just knew how to take care of me.
His follow up is amazing, he returns calls promptly, and he gives you all of the time that you need during appointments. This may be why he isn’t always running on time, but when you need the time, he gives it to you.
Heaven forbid if Dr. Banooni ever left LA, or the state of CA, or this planet, I would travel to the ends of the earth to go to him for my «girl» needs. He is truly out of this world.
