Specialties
We create one of a kind jewelry designs using both artisic and classical concepts. We are known for our exrtraorinary use of color as well as very fine diamonds. Our best known item is our microband stackable rings which we make in many colors of precious and semi precious stones. We developed and pioneered the micro setting technique and still produce the most coveted work of its kind. We are greatly imitated but not duplicated in our quality of setting and micro diamond work. Every piece we make is signed and numbered.
History
Established in 1988.
Martin Katz founded his eponymous company, Martin Katz, Ltd., in 1988. Katz’s passion for gems has earned him wide acclaim for designing beautifully crafted, couture-quality pieces inspired from his love of vintage jewelry. Each piece is one-of-a-kind or limited in production and made with meticulous attention to detail.
Throughout the years, Katz’s creations have adorned A-List celebrities starting with Sharon Stone in 1992. Having been the first independent Jewelry Designer to lend jewels to the stars on the Red Carpet, he opened doors for the many others that do so today.
Martin Katz has gained international prominence with television and editorial features as well as luxury collaborations with Ray-Ban, Victoria’s Secret, Donna Karan and most recently designed The Jewel Suite by Martin Katz, at the New York Palace Hotel.
Today, Martin Katz is exclusively sold at his Beverly Hills boutique and in the world’s finest department store, Bergdorf Goodman in New York City.
Meet the Business Owner
Martin K.
Business Owner
I have always been inspired by vintage jewelry and classic Hollywood glamour. As a child I remember being mesmerized by pictures of celebrities wearing jewelry. In fact, my career as a jewelry designer grew out of being unable to find vintage pieces in the style I liked. So I started creating them myself, designing hand-crafted, couture quality pieces inspired from my love of contemporary jewels with an ‘old soul’.
My creative process begins with a stone and an idea. I am always on the hunt for stones that are singular, offbeat and rare. Ninety percent of my creations are one of a kind or limited in production — signed, numbered and made with meticulous attention to detail. Even when I can, I refuse to make the exact same piece twice. It is part of my ethos to create jewelry that is beautiful, unique and enduring — that lives up to my motto, «Jewels. Like No Other.»
