Exer – More Than Urgent Care

excellent experience. the doctor’s assistants, receptionists and the Dr. are all very nice and friendly. the waiting room and the entire facility is clean, comfortable and modern style. we got in right away to see the dr. he is great. we even were able to get a DVD of the X-​ray to bring to the orthopedist. easy parking to and convenient hours.

Best urgent care location I have found. I got there 5 minutes after they opened. I was seen within 10 minutes of filling out all the paperwork. The nurse was in the room to take my vitals immediately and do a throat culture– I was pretty sure I had strep throat because my throat was swollen.
As soon as she left to do the test the doctor– Dr. Rubin– was in within a couple of minutes. And then the nurse came back almost immediately to say my strep culture was positive. Dr Rubin was professional and friendly and gave me a list of supplements as well.
They gave me a steroid shot to bring down my throat swelling. All said and done I was in and out within 45 minutes. I would highly recommend this place.

I will preface this by saying the 1 star is only for the doctor. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, the front office was warm and welcoming. The nurse that helped me was lovely and empathetic to my problem.
I went in to Exer on Tuesday because a week earlier I had hurt my left ankle and right knee while running on a treadmill. After 1 week the swelling had gotten much worse. Every time I took I step my eyes watered due to the severe pain. It was time to see someone and get an x-​ray. I was taken back after waiting for approx 20 min (although there was no one else in the waiting area). The nurse listened to my issues, took my blood pressure and temp then went to get the doc. Then Dr. Simone Gold comes in and asks whats wrong. I start speaking and she actually interrupted me. She said she needed to tell someone something and would be back in 2 sec, which she was. She listened to my initial pain, looked at my foot, touched it and said she thought it was rheumatoid arthritis. I had to BEG them to take an x-​ray, just for peace of mind. Luckily it was clear, but nothing explains the severe swelling. I asked her what I could do, since I couldn’t walk. She said nothing, and it’ll get better in time.
I’m 28 years old and I suddenly have rheumatoid arthritis?! Not saying it’s not possible, but what about fluid build up, a sprain, a tear?! I saw another doctor yesterday because my foot was now 4 times the normal size… it was fluid build up. He prescribed a diuretic and my foot is now half the size.
I can’t believe I wasted my time and money on seeing her. I’ve seen many urgent care centers because I’m clumsy… this is by far the worst experience I’ve had. If you go in with a headache Dr. Gold will probably assume you have a tumor with no evidence. Thanks for nothing.

AWFUL. Awful awful awful. They charged me $ 210 for the visit and a urine test because I came to them saying I think I have a bladder infection. The nurse was nice, said it appeared from the urine test that I did indeed have a bladder infection based on white blood cells and traces of blood in my urine. She assured me it was no big deal and UTI’s are common. Then the doctor, Dr. Gold, comes in. She was in sweats, very schleppy. She was rude and cold and told me she didn’t think I had a bladder infection, and that if she was me, she would just take Advil and see what happened. I asked her to explain the terrible pain I felt when I pee and she shrugged and said it didn’t necessarily mean I had a bladder infection. I asked her about the blood in my urine. She said there wasn’t enough in the urine analysis to determine anything. I corrected her and said no, there is blood in the toilet when I pee. She said that it couldn’t be coming from my urethra and was most likely vaginal. I assured her it wasn’t, and she said she wasn’t going to argue with me. She told me I could take the anti biotics if i wanted, but she wouldn’t recommend it. And then she left. The entire time she seemed uncomfortable, weird, and apologetic, and eventually she became subtly hostile when I questioned her diagnosis.
Then they charged me $ 60 on top of the $ 150 exam, because they said I had to have a pregnancy test to be prescribed anti biotics. I told them my last period was last week but they charged me any way.
I feel like this is a joke dr.‘s office. I only went because the Beverly Hills Comprehensive Care facility was closed. I will never come back here and I don’t think anyone should spend their money here unless they have full insurance to cover it. And even then, I advise you to go elsewhere because these doctors are b.s.

What a great experience, very professional and very nice looking place. Came in for severe allergies and possibly a sinus infection.

Fake friendliness, they think we are all kids who just take fake smiles and lip service to be grateful. Its all about money offcourse, not helping people. Rude staff after latest visit, it was ok in the first few times.

Went to this urgent care for a medication refill. Was in and out in 15 minutes. Waited for maybe five minutes and they honestly had less forms to fill out than the freaking dermatologist I went to a few days ago. They took my insurance too. The staff was really nice and the place was extremely clean and bright. Very modern. They offered me a water bottle while I was waiting as well. I got five refills… At the last urgent care I went to for the same reason, they gave me 0 refills. ¹⁰⁄₁₀

I went there due to a foot toe injury. I had the toe taped to the next one. The «doctor», came in and asked me to remove the tape, which I couldn’t. He said that he did not want to cut the tape because he could cut me. I had to help him cut the tape off. He looked at the toe and said «no need for X-​ray, your toe is broken, we will tape it again and give you a hard shoe. No further examination was done. The whole «consultation» lasted about 3 minutes, the «doctor» stated that it will be good idea to follow this up with podology. A few minutes later, the «nurse» came into the room and handed me a roll of tape. I asked him if I was supposed to tape it myself, he replied that those were the doctors orders, that I will do it myself, which I refused to do. Upon calling my doctor for a referral to the podologist, my doctor said that according to the urgent care’s doctor’s notes, I was given a full and complete physical exam, the injury was definitively treated and that it required no further treatment or follow up other that a routine visit to my primary doctor.

By far this is the best urgent care I’ve ever been to in Los Angeles. I changed my insurance company and I needed to find a doctor so the UCLA group referred me over to the urgent care. I met with Dr. Rubin who is very thorough and confident. Turns out I had a broken thumb. Darius did my x-​ray and wrapped my thumb in a splint. I did not get the nurses name but she was great as well. I will definitely be going back and I only had to wait 15 minutes on a Thursday during the day.

We go here so often that they actually thank us for the referrals and business. I’m not sure what it says about our family, but it sure is great always being able to get a walk in appt at a highly efficient and excellent clinic. We’ve been here with everything from broken bones to sinus infections. The space is gorgeous, the wait is never that long and valet parking is pretty great.

Awful place! If you want to WASTE more than $ 200 then it’s definitely a place to go.
I came there when I was really sick and I had a strep throat which gave me fever and all side effects any doctor or even a person without medical background should know about. However I had to pay $ 150 minimum for apparently just saying «hi» to a doctor because he was that incompetent and couldn’t realize that I simply had a flu and all I needed was some antibiotics. He «ran» two meaningless tests for which I had to pay additional $ 65. After he back with the results he said they’ll need to send it to a separate lab so they can treat what I have. Again, I had a simple cold/​flue. As he told me I’d receive the results within 2 – 3 days and based on them I’ll get a prescription. Oh and of course I’d have to pay for those tests separately on top of what I already had paid. A receptionist told me/​assured they will follow up within 2 days and see if I felt better. No one ever called and after 3 WEEKS I finally received my lab results. It’s been 3 weeks!!! Why the hell would I need it now when Im totally fine.
This place is horrible and I wound not recommend to anyone to go there.

Excellent urgent care! Four stars only because they don’t have meds on hand — they have to call in prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy. But they have a handy list of the closest, 24-​hour Rite-Aids/CVS’s/etc. So that was really nice.
Front desk was super friendly and helpful, even when a couple patients were being rude to them in the waiting room. They let me use their restroom right away. Free, fast wi-​fi for when you’re waiting. Lots of seating. Clean and to-​the-​point about pretty much everything. Wait-​time wasn’t too bad even with a couple people ahead of me and only one doctor on staff — who was very nice as well. Couldn’t have asked for a quicker, better experience.
Go here if you’re looking for an urgent care that’s open late, and on the weekends too! Hidden gem.

Waits are as long as emergency room they lie about billing and you’ll get a bill even if you have blue shield or blue cross and have paid your copay for like 145 or more. Save your self go to the emergency room its less and less stress. They have an intransigent billing service that never answers phone. The room I waited in had what looked like blood on things.

This place helped my 4 year old get over her fear of doctors. She freaks out every time we go because she is afraid of shots so when she fell and cut her eyelid/​brow I was worried about taking her to the ER because I suspected she needed stitches and our urgent care at Kaiser had just closed. We waited for about 5 minutes in the clean, modern lobby which was a huge difference from my experience 3 days later at Kaiser’s ER with my other daughter. The ER at Kaiser was filled with people complaining about the methodone withdrawal, homeless guys were losing their mind screaming with some disturbing wounds and infections — it was inappropriate for a child to experience.
We had the pleasure of meeting Dr Isakson who had the best bedside manner with my little one. I explained to him her fear and he talked her through every single step of what their plan was — all she heard was NO NEEDLES, YAY! They glued her laceration back up instead of stitches and she was out in about an hour (they took extra precaution cleaning out the wound and numbing before moving forward).
Even though I had to pay out of pocket, I would do it again. It was worth getting the outstanding service we received and having my little one’s fears alleviated. Thank you!

Sad to say this USED to be a great place and super convenient.
They no longer accept appointments in addition to walk ins… Meaning you have to show up and wait (isn’t this why we didn’t go to the ER??) and the front desk staff is impossibly rude.
Really disappointed in their staffing and policy changes given Dr. Lunsford is fantastic, and the location is great.

Rushed over here after work to be seen before their 830 closing. I was here at 8 and they told me they weren’t seeing any more patients. Please don’t advertise false hours. Thanks for nothing.

This is the best Urgent Care I’ve been to. I didn’t have to wait longer than 15 minutes and everyone I dealt with was very friendly. The doctor was very helpful and calm and cool! He even gave me some additional advice and pointers to look into for my digestion issues. Very helpful and I will be back if I ever need UC services again.

Great friendly staff. Had to visit urgent care on New Years Day and I was so amazed at how fast the visit was. I was in and out in no time, the waiting room is very nice and very clean. This is my new urgent care clinic!

I had some trouble breathing, scary stuff. Went to a hospital emergency entrance earlier in the day; not much response EXPENSIVE and no good answers. Later in the day, needed help again, and Exer was the only clinic open. Great staff, clean, FAST service. More than anything, the doctor listened and gave me lots of good information and remedies, as well as a simple prescription to help the fears. Easy and not expensive.

First of all, I felt like I was walking into a movie set… The décor was beautiful and the nurses and doctor looked like actors or models. Gotta love LA! :) Everyone was very friendly and upbeat. I just needed an asthma treatment and that was done. Felt very upscale and trendy for a clinic, almost like a spa. Very clean, aesthetically pleasing. What I needed was simple, not sure if they have the capability to diagnose more complicated problems though. I’d definitely go again with a minor ailment. You may forget you’re at a medical clinic, and think you’re at a spa!

This place is absolutely the best! With ER certified MD’s, short waits, state of the art medical equipment ready to go, excellent bedside manner, incredibly talented and good looking team! Why would I ever want to go to my Primary Care again when I can go to Exer and, have all my labs come back in minutes, have an ER certified MD give me an overview of my condition and remedies on site that expedite the healing process all within a fraction of the time I would spend at my Primary Care then still have to go to a lab, wait for results and a call from my Primary?! This is definitely my go to place. Watch out Primary Care MDs! Exer has done their homework and provides better service than the ER or the Primary Care MD! Exer is definitely leaps and bounds ahead of current medical standards! Thank You Exer

I’ve been seeing Dr. Lundsford your years and recently saw Dr. Rubin too. I have nothing but excellent things to report about this practice. My only complaint is that they don’t yet have a location on the west side of LA. I think nearly everyone would benefit from this urgent care/​emergency room practice. Great staff. Great doctors. Great waiting room. Great experience all around. You shouldn’t hesitate for a second to stroll on in if you have a medical need!

WOW!!! What an amazingly pleasant surprise this place is! Dr. Johnson was the best. I love that she took time to explain things to me. I came in because my doctor wanted me to go to Cedars Urgent care since I have had a cold for four weeks. I checked Anthem and Exer was covered, So I tried it out. Unlike my past visits to urgent cares, Dr. Johnson asked enough questions to figure out that I had probably had more than one cold and that antibiotics probably wouldn’t help. I love that she didn’t just give me what I THOUGHT I needed:-)

They get one star for a clean facility, nice staff and speedy service. The pediatric room we were in with our 17 month old son was sparse but had good toys for him to play with while we waited.
The subtraction of four stars is for the major error of failing to take a throat culture and therefore misdiagnosing him with strep throat and prescribing an antibiotic that would do more harm than good. I will never go back to a place that was so negligent that they prescribed an antibiotic without adequate testing. No short wait time is worth that.

The folks here are awesome. The place is clean, bright and stylishly decorated. Everyone working here looks like they’re out of a medical drama, they’re so good-​looking. It feels like being on the set of a new TV show called «Exer — More Than Urgent Care». But in all seriousness besides that, it is good medical attention.
I did a walk-​in last night about 7 pm because I was worried about my ear being muffled for 2 days after a bad bout of bronchitis. The place was listed under my insurance and I saw some good reviews on here, so I decided to try it out. Check-​in was easy and I was seen quickly. The nurse put me at ease, and the doctor looked in my ear and said it was a big wax buildup.
I’ve never had my ears irrigated before but it was almost a spa-​like experience. They got it all out and I can hear again! Doctor Thor (sorry, he reminded us of Thor, which I think is a compliment) and the nurse recommended Mucinex for my sinuses and remaining chest congestion, and Advil for inflammation post-​bronchitis and for aches and pains caused by coughing. They were super helpful and even had a laminated cut out of the front of the Mucinex box, indicated which one I should be using.
I left Exer feeling great!

This place was fantastic! Best urgent care center I’ve been to so far.
The waiting room was clean and stylish, It’s surprising how many places neglect their waiting rooms — aka where us patients will, unfortunately, be spending the most time. The girls at the front desk were super friendly and were actually pretty entertaining by singing along to the 90s music that was playing — not sure if they actually intended for me to hear them, but I loved it!
I literally only had to wait about 10 minutes before I was seen by the doctor. That never happens at urgent care. I was in and out in only about 30 minutes, ready to go, prescription in hand. The doctor was friendly and thorough, he even gave me advice on my other medical issues.
If I ever (god forbid) have to go to urgent care again, I will definitely come here.

Two stars for the atmosphere and location. Beautiful lobby, refreshments, kept up very well, easy parking. My husband went here a few days ago for a cough. He was told it was viral and to drink elderberry tea and call back if he’s still not feeling well. He called back at 8 pm tonight. He was told they can’t prescribe something until the doctor who originally saw him returns in 2 days. My husband asked if another doctor could review the notes. They said that’s not how they work and to come in because they’re open till 8:30. My husband arrived at 8:20 and was told they had already seen their last patient. He mentioned the phone call and they said it was at the doctor’s discretion and that they didn’t have room for any more patients today. I’d avoid this place as it seems to be run like a private clinic with doctors who need to get home rather than a community urgent care.

Got here at 8PM on the dot and was turned away because they «weren’t taking new patients» and told me to go to an ER. If it says on the door you are open until 9PM and have a sign at the front desk that says you WILL be seen if you arrive before 8:30pm, you should take the patient!

Did a walk-​in on a Sunday afternoon. I was check-​in, and called into an exam room in less than fifteen minutes; from the moment I walked into the door. I waited about five minutes in the room, and the doctor immediately came in. Did his assessment, and done! I LOVED IT. I also received a summary of the visit and further treatment instructions. Efficient, compassionate and beautiful office. Oh– And free parking on the lot next to them on weekends. If need be, I will definitely return.
Only downside (which I won’t penalize with a less star), was that the gal at the front desk was very inclined to have me pay cash, because she insisted they didn’t accept my medical insurance. And she tried becoming a bit rude. I quickly proved her wrong, and we were on with our day :-)

Been there twice. They really provide more than satisfactory care and service.
Both the times i was attended in less than 10 mins. Amazing experience, my fav clinic.

I don’t know what I can say that’s bad about this place honestly. I wish it was closer I guess? Super professional, fast, clean, efficient… I wish this place was closer to my house, because this is the place I’d want to go to if I had an emergency. They know their stuff here.

These guys saved my life last night — at 8:30pm!
I’d been feeling pretty crummy for about a week. Sore throat, congestion, but nothing I couldn’t power through while in the middle of a move. Then yesterday morning it got much worse than it’d been any other morning. I saw a general doc during the day who brushed off my symptoms as a cold, gave me a numbing rinse for my throat, and told me to gargle with Listerine (because that was what she does and shes a «doctor»)…terrible advise…
Point is, at around 8 I literally couldn’t stand the pain anymore, and no other urgent cares West Hollywood were open so thankfully I stumbled across Exer… These guys are AMAZING. They took me in at 8:30 (half hour before they closed) and made sure they did everything in their power to help reduce my symptoms to a tolerable level (it was not only a cold…) The staff here is so kind and understanding, and unlike other places I’ve been they seem to have genuine concern for their patients. I owe the staff at Exer a huge THANK YOU!
I won’t be running a marathon today (I didn’t get a magic cure) but I could sleep last night and the pain is considerably less today. I highly recommend this practice!

Open 9a-​9p everyday, yes even on Sundays!
I’ve been to a couple of other urgent care facilities, but my goodness, this one was the cleanest and fanciest one I’ve been! Gotta be for it to be in Beverly Hills, huh.
The staff are very friendly and offer you water, which was a bonus cuz I really needed it. I’m not sure how busy they could get, but I went there was no wait at all. There’s also a designated parking lot which was free when I visited on a Sunday evening.

Exer is one of the best urgent care places that I’ve been to. They have long hours (open until 9 pm), which is convenient for people who don’t want to take time off work to visit the doctor. They also validate for an hour in the lot next door, but I opted for street parking around the corner since I wasn’t sure how long my visit would take, and the lot was a bit tricky to get to (and very packed).
Upon walking in, I was instantly impressed with how clean and modern the facility is. The very pretty girl behind the desk was also very nice. It didn’t take long for me to fill out the paperwork and get seated, but I waited a good 30 minutes in the waiting room despite the fact that there wasn’t anyone else there. It was about 12:30 pm (I had gone during my lunch break) so I gather that the doctors must have been eating lunch at well. Keep that in mind before going during your lunch break.
I saw Andrew Khan — who is a DO not MD. I had never heard of a DO before and did some research later on, and it seems that they are both 4 year medical degrees with little technical distinction, but the DO being perhaps slightly less prestigious. Dr. Khan told me that all the doctors at Exer are ER doctors.
I had fallen down the stairs and had a headache for several days so I went to get it checked out just to be safe. As I suspected, there was nothing they could really tell without doing a catscan, but Dr. Khan did do an examination of my eyes and ears and head and said based on his exam, there was a 90% likelihood that the catscan would show nothing and that things would get better on their own. Based on that stat, I opted to skip the catscan. I had gone in for peace of mind, which I mostly (90%) got.
NOTE: Be careful when going through insurance, as sometimes it can actually cost more than just paying upfront using their tiered program. You can ask them to run your insurance to see how much it would cost you out of pocket to use insurance and make an informed decision.
