Yellow Taxi Service

The service is great, no complaints. Driver arrived on time and was very nice. I Would definitely recommend them for use. Raj provided good conversation to make the commute seem more enjoyable.

Called once — was told a cab would be out in «15 minutes»
Called half an hour later — «would be 2 minutes»
After about 40 minutes had passed — they quit picking up. I called on behalf of my company for someone else — I feel horrible this person has been waiting this whole time.
I spoke to your dispatch on Sunday, 8.9.15 at roughly 11am — it’s a shame you lie to get business and instead keep your customers waiting.

Easy! called at 830am on a Saturday for a pickup to OAK at 930. I live in the windy roads of Montclair and my driver was on time and it was a pleasant ride. Asked me which way I wanted to go and I could tell he knew his way around. About $ 35 pre-​tip.

They get 4 stars even though I’ll never use them again cause I’m in Southern California, but I did appreciate that the owners contacted me directly! I didn’t see his message until two years later, lol

I wish I could give zero stars.
I had a VERY important doctors appointment to get to. I called for a cab 30 minutes before my appointment, and it takes 10 minutes to drive there. I thought 20 minutes would be enough time for the cab to get to my apartment at 10:30am on a Wednesday. Well, it never showed up. I called the company a few times, the operator answered once and told me my cab was almost there, and then the rest of the time there was no answer.
Sad excuse for a business.

Showed up almost 20 minutes late for an early morning pick-​up (read: first pick-​up of the day). Almost missed my flight, was unnecessarily hectic morning at 6 am.

These guys are just terrible. If you want poor service, drivers that don’t speak English or know their way around the city, these ARE you guys, but that is only if they will bother to pick you up, because they might if they feel like it, but who really knows!!!
Before the era of Lyft and Über and the like, I took them because what was my choice? But thank goodness you have a choice today right? Not there is not more guessing if the taxi will arrive in 2 minutes or 1 hour, if at all… you have options!
Avoid this dangerous, costly and poor service option for local transportation!

Be warned, they have two Unilocal pages, and unfortunately I went to the one that had three reviews that were all positive at «Yellow and Black Cab» (I suspect the reviews are not legitimate)!
Here was my email to them about my complaint about not being picked up a few weeks ago even though I received confirmation from them:
Your taxi never came to get me yesterday!
I not only have an email confirmation of my reservation, but I even called you on July # to confirm my reservation, and you told me you had me in your system and you even read my address and pick-​up time to me!
I had to get to Oakland Airport by 5:30am. I have in my call history trying to frantically get through to you at 4:59am, 5:02am, 5:04am, 5:07am, and 5:12am but it all went to voicemail. I couldn’t wait anymore, and since you left me in a bind since no one else could drive me at the last second in the early morning I had to drive my own car, which is what I wanted to avoid, and now I’m going to be stuck with a bill for $ 132 since I had to park at airport an entire week. I don’t know what happened or what your excuse could be, but I’m requesting you pay for my parking bill since you did not honor your part of the agreement in picking me up. I tend to give businesses second chances, so I hope you will do the honorable thing and pay my parking bill; otherwise, I will have to report your business.
Needless to say, this company has absolutely no integrity and is not honorable since they didn’t even apologize or respond! This company needs to be put out of business. I wish I could give it negative 100 stars!

Called at 11:30 for a taxi at 1:15 to take me to the airport. At 1:25 they hadn’t showed so I called and she said they were STILL TRYING TO LOCATE A DRIVER TO COME GET ME. I rushed to my car to drive myself, barely made it onto the plane dripping sweat because I was literally sprinting, and my bag didn’t make it. I’ll have to hang out at the airport on the other side because of these jokers. Fantastic way to start a trip. NEVER USE THEM IF YOU CARE ABOUT MAKING YOUR FLIGHT.

They said 20 minutes and ended up being an hour. Had to drive to the airport and pay for long term parking for 10 days as a result

This taxi service was terrible. Never bothered to show up, and never bothered to tell us they WEREN’T going to show up.
We called them first to take us to a restaurant in Oakland, and they were fine… on time and everything. Then, an hour and a half later, we called them to take us back home to Berkeley. They said they’d be there in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, they still hadn’t arrived so we called them back, they said they would be there shortly. After 45 minutes, they still hadn’t shown up, so we gave up and called the Alameda City Cab Co (which showed up very quickly).
I was very frustrated that after 2 phone calls, 2 promises of immediate service, and 45 minutes of waiting outside on a very cold night, the Yellow Taxi Service never even bothered to show up. They had my phone number, I called twice, but they couldn’t bother to tell us the truth (that they weren’t coming). VERY LAME.

Great service and they are always reliable. I would definitely recommend them. Friendly service, which always make for a plus in my book.

I called and scheduled for a taxi on a weekday morning. None came. Called. Nothing.

I usually have to fly out for work every month. I cant stay how punctual these guys are. One time i had the cab driving waiting for me outside my place for 20 minutes.
Always pleasant professional courteous staff. I would high recommend them.

I absolutely love this taxi service! Ask for Raj. He is our go-​to driver for nights out to San Francisco. He always arrives on time with as little as 20 minutes notice and will book other taxis for you if you have a big group. Sometimes he even picks us up in a town car and charges the same price as a regular taxi!
My best experience with Raj was New Year’s Eve. Pretty much every taxi company was booked and charging extra, however Raj only charged us $ 50 from Hayward all the way to the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley. He also made sure he was available to pick us up after the NYE party at the exact time we requested. He also went out of his way to reserve several taxis four our friends coming from various locations in the East Bay.
Robby also works for Yellow Taxi Service and he is a good time! He is super funny and puts up with all of us after a night on the town. I would give this taxi service 10 stars if I could!
