The Wooden Duck manufactures furniture made from recycled wood and reclaimed lumber. Most of the wood we use comes from interior joists of old warehouses that were build pre 1920.

The Wooden Duck is your source for creating beautiful furniture made from recycled lumber and reclaimed wood. We are most know for custom dining tables and great deals on outdoor furniture. With over 300 restaurant and wineries to our credit we know what it takes to build your furniture «commercial tough» while delivering unique furniture that doesn’t look like page 38 of a catalog. No particle board, veneer or ply used here! 100% solid all the time. Come by and say «hello».

The Wooden Duck has been making furniture from recycled wood and reclaimed materials in our shop in West Berkeley and around the world for almost 20 years. Our imported reclaimed lumber furniture is generally considered the most direct to consumer value on the West Coast as we ship factory direct and are located a mere 7 miles from the port of Oakland.

We sell directly to Northern California customers from our shops in Berkeley and San Rafael and have eliminated the «tiered» designer/​wholesaler/​trade pricing to which most direct importers still adhere. We offer a discount system according to how much you buy… not who you are and we do not ship out of state in order to keep costs down for our local clientele. Our weekly «Duck Deal» is considered the lowest price in the country on one particular item two or three times a month and it has a loyal following (sign up on our home page!)

This place is the best. We just moved to Berkeley and would like to furnish our whole house with their stuff. Gorgeous wood furniture for every room. We have purchased outdoor and indoor pieces. Years ago we bought a mission-​style bedroom set from the Duck, and recently we returned to look for a small cabinet. We found a wonderful, small «mid-​century reclaimed redwood cabinet with glass doors, and a matching small tv unit. They were exactly what we needed, and we bought a large mirror too. Their employee, Ethan Jones, was a great help. He was patient with our indecision and answered all our questions. The Wooden Duck is definitely worth a visit when searching for wooden furniture.

Wooden Duck is an amazing store. So much beautiful furniture, and it smells so deliciously of wood! My boyfriend and I bought a bed – very reasonable for high-​quality materials and craftsmanship. I have been a long time Wooden Duck devotee. Locally made, from reclaimed wood, unique pieces, and run like a well orchestrated small family owned and operated business. I have bought specific pieces over the years including a bed frame, dresser, night stands and mirrors. Each and every purchase is cherished for it’s exemplary craftsmanship and stunning beauty. Most recently, in working with Ethan, the delivery was scheduled just a few days after purchase which was fantastic! The delivery team delivered my last WD order; I applaud the longevity with suppliers. I highly recommend WD to anyone looking for quality unique reclaimed wood pieces for the home and garden!

I love this place, have been shopping at Wooden Duck for 6 years. Have a kitchen table, bench, chairs, ascending book shelf, and hall table with storage. Looking forward to a bedroom set in the future.
Great selection of furniture. Interesting design and use of repurposed wood. If you are looking for something different at a good price, this is the place to go. Also have cool small household items and outdoor furniture.
Staff is helpful and responsive, Ethan’s been a big help!

I went to the Wooden Duck for the first time to buy some furniture for my new home. Although I have not bought my furniture yet, I did buy a lamp that I absolutely adore. I don’t usually post on Unilocal,but the customer service was impeccable so I thought I would spread the word. One of the staff members, Ethan, was particularly helpful. He was attentive and patient and gave a lot of great advice on furniture. I will definitely be back to buy more.

I knew the Wooden Duck had beautiful furniture (absolutely worth the price, but I was not expecting to find something that I could actually have delivered the same day that I purchased it. I found an amazing 60″ round zinc table top dining table, and Ethan, the sales person, was great with helping to find the right chairs to go with my new table. He was extremely patient with us moving chairs around the table, and then made my same day delivery happen. Normal delivery time is about 3 – 4 weeks, but Ethan was able to schedule a company named Lugg (the Über for delivery) to deliver my table and chairs within hours. Now that’s immediate gratification! Thank you also for the follow up to ensure my delivery went well and if I had any further questions about my purchase. Thanks The Wooden Duck team!

I bought 4 pieces here, all of recycled wood (dining table and chairs; utility table for kitchen; large coffee table out of salvaged skids; bed and headboard). It’s about 2 months later and all of the items continue to make me happy. Construction and quality seem really good. Everything feels warm and comfortable. They arranged delivery (paid separately) and items came when promised. Delivery service worked quickly and cleanly and did the little necessary assembly the bed required. Sales people there, in my limited experience, work that edge between not wanting to seem pushy while also wanting to work with you when you need assistance. I’m happy with the entire experience.

Beautiful reclaimed Teak furniture from Java Indonesia. My friend bought two sets of chairs, some ottomans, chaise lounges, and side tables at there once a year sale. Its worth it to get on their email list to be ready to pounce on these sales. The furniture is reduced by 50%, We were helped by Alexandria and she was very welcoming and helpful. I love the look and this stuff ages well. Everything in the store is of a high quality and can be delivered and assembled. They also are able to make custom cushions for your outdoor furniture. I would describe Wooden Duck as classy & unpretentious.

Well, we have purchased a custom bed frame, two dressers, two night stands, three mirrors, two coat hangers, two chests, two benches, five organisers, a buffet and a stool. It’s safe to say we love The Wooden Duck. The people who work there are helpful when needed, without being pushy and don’t mind that we usually have our dog with us. They have beautiful new pieces every time we wander by and often have amazing reduced items as well.
If you are looking for something unique, well made and sustainable for your home (as we were,) The Wooden Duck should be your first stop.

This is going to be the easiest review I have ever written. The furniture in this store is amazing. owning a piece of it is owning a piece of artwork. I found the people who work there extremely helpful. Ask a question, they Answear it. The few people whom wrote less than flattering reviews on here need to get a life.” I walked in and wasn’t greeted «seriously? This ain’t Neman Marcus sweetheart… it’s a workshop where they make incredible furniture…» I got there 5 minutes before closing and they wouldn’t let me in «The person who wrote that obviously has never had a job in retail. it would take 5 minutes to get just half way thru the first part of the

Gorgeous materials, and beautiful products overall. All that wood smells amazing.
Make sure and check every corner of the showroom, as we found a tallboy dresser in the clearance section that was literally ½ the price of some of the smaller dressers on the floor. We arranged a delivery service through Dan up front, and the guy (I forget it his name) was a few hours early/​lugged everything upstairs for us. No complaints at all.
Totally love their stuff, and will be back over time.

Recently I sold my house, and had to leave all my Wooden Duck furniture, around the pool and on the balcony. So my new city yard needed new furniture, the timing was perfect, hit their annual sale. I bought 4 Catalina chairs and a coffee table. They delivered last night, I am so happy! Beautiful teak furniture, high quality and better prices than anywhere else in the Bay Area.

My husband and I where there for not even a minute and the customer service we received has guaranteed that we will not be coming back. Granted it was 5 minutes before they close (5pm on Sunday) but we were not allowed to take another step inside the store «nope, we are all closed and we open tomorrow at 10 am» is what we got.
We have been to 20 furniture stores in the last couple months and have not encountered such cold customer service. It only takes one opportunity like this to never make a sale to us or anyone we know.

Do not bring your dogs here. Better yet, don’t come.
The moment we walked in with our well-​trained dogs, an employee said that there was a dog which was «in the back» which we might want to «keep an eye out for». We didn’t have to.
The store’s dog ran in to charge at my terriers, barking and snarling and scaring the crap out of everyone. It got a good mouthful of fur on my girl but didn’t break the skin. I broke her bite and got between them. After I wouldn’t be budged by its lunging at us, the min-​pin hid under a table, snarling and snapping.
A saleswoman pulled the min-​pin out and left to talk with another customer without saying word one. Not even an apology. Apparently this is a regular occurrence, astonishing.
Why is the owner knowingly allowing such an untrained menace loose in their store? Stupid, stupid, stupid. My dogs are well-​trained farm terriers, taking down rats, opossums, and raccoons that threaten our livestock on command. Some day that untrained min-​pin is going to come up against a dog that won’t obey «sit».

I’ve driven past the Wooden Duck so many times in the passing years, and finally made a point to go inside and see their wares. I’m glad I did. Rooms of truly beautiful handcrafted wood furniture, with emphasis on pieces made of reclaimed wood (not much of a shock being located in eco-​conscious Berkeley). Most of downstairs feaures kitchen/​dining room pieces, there’s a patio for outdoor items, a narrow «hall of mirrors» (I love that bit), and upstairs is bedroom furniture. I particularly loved the green-​meets-​kitsch style of pieces made from reclaimed stadiums seats and tables made from old bowling alley lanes.
One obvious note is their prices. I know that you’re paying for wonderfully constructed, made to last, lovely sustainable décor, but some of the prices were just silly. I saw a plain small nightstand that cost over $ 600… that nightstand should do stand-​up because that is hilarious. Maybe one day I’ll have a well-​paying job and be able to afford Wooden Duck’s gorgeous (and occassionally overpriced) furniture.
