Stanford Liquor

If I could, I would not give Stanford Liquor any stars! This place is really a blight on the neighborhood — really selling nothing but $ 2 half pints! The place fuels the mayhem that occurs across the street in Driver Park, and defaces the neighborhood with garbage and broken glass. It’s time for Stanford Liquor to start serving the entire community/​neighborhood (maybe selling non-​expired milk?) or pack it up. The place is just a bummer, and doesn’t do anything good for anyone.

I live across the street from this liquor store, and things have to change. They sell crap food, and mainly lots of liquor, beer and one-​off smokes. The litter and garbage from this place is strewn for over a block, into the park across the street. There’s smashed glass everywhere from the bottles they sell, and the park across the street is pretty much home to all-​day drinking and carrying-​on, fueled by 40’s, small bottles and vodka from this place. This area is changing with families moving in. if Stanford liquor wants to stay, it should start catering to the peaceful people who would frequent a corner store for essentials, not the drive-​by alcoholics and disruptive forces that endanger the neighborhood.

I’m all for supporting local business but its time to clean up. Good selection of chips

Oh, HAAAAAYYY! Here’s my neighborhood lika sto’!
I’ve been coming here since 1995. They’ve changed owners since then. No more Tina and her brood of 50 children getting hit by Fed Ex trucks (no lie!). Just Mo and his cohorts holding down the fort and keeping the riff raff in check. Don’t act a fool, though. They’re armed and will EFF you up! See that little window upstairs looking over the cash register? That’s where they sit and keep watch in case anyone tries to act funny or rob them. I hope I’m not there if there’s ever a shoot out, that’s all I’m sayin’…Not for the faint of heart. But it’s a neighborhood store. My neighborhood.
Mo is awesome. If they don’t have something you ask for, the next time you come in it will be there. Seriously. He got Cappuchino It’s Its and Hot and Spicy pork rinds just for me. How can you not love that?
Don’t mind the dealers and hobos, it’s just South Berkeley, after all. You do know to hit the ground if you ever hear gunshots, right? Good. You’ll be just fine.
