My son and I have decided that the coolest thing about living on the Southside of town are the Liquor Stores. Our favorite, ASA Liquors. Not because of the selection of spirits, beer, and cheap wine. Not because of the vast selection of ice cream bars in the cooler. Not because they sell California Lottery Tickets. Not that Newport’s in a box are discounted. If you want to buy hip hop, thug life clothes, you can just go to the Liquor Store. Caps, white XXXL tees, pants, and faux bling, they have it all and ASA is the best! Everything you’d want to outfit yourself as a junior gangster is there. Mr. T Starter Kits, Raiders wear, and pants that be slabbing(low hanging). All but the kicks(shoes). You’ll have to go to the Nike Store for that dope. «Yo foo, that fool was hella gangster muggin with his white t. He was slabbing so bad, his pants were hanging off his… Yeah, Dawg copped it at ASA…»

I love the guys that work here. It’s a pretty basic corner liquor store, but there’s an awful lot to be said for friendly operation. Ali offered to teach me and my friend Arabic today, and they regularly give us deals on our purchases. If you live in the area, frequent this place for your corner liquor needs. It’s always nice to have another couple of friends, and these guys are warm and affectionate.

This place is like the only thing selling snacks and beverages in this semi-artsy semi-thuggy little corner. Go if you want to check up on some real-deal thugs cause this place is live. Nice owners though, no charge or minimum for ATM purchases. Why am I reviewing this at all?
