Trying to support Telegraph Avenue businesses and having had a good experience in the past here, I braved inconvenient parking and street people to bring my original linocut block print by Hawaiian artist Avi Kiriaty for framing. I picked a frame, was told it would be $ 97, and was going to go about picking a matte when I asked if I could use the bathroom (so I could concentrate on what I was doing). I was told no by the young woman. I’m about to spend $ 97 (actually probably much more) to get a piece of art framed here, but no, I can’t use the restroom. So I asked where the nearest bathroom was. «Maybe across the street at Café Med,» she says very indifferently. So she watches this potential customer leave my piece of original art, go across the street where, no, Café Med does not have a public bathroom, so I end up having to walk three blocks down the street to use the public toilet at the parking garage on Channing, then have to walk all the way back. Where I am now going to hand over at least $ 97 to them after they made me run around Telegraph Avenue looking for a bathroom? I don’t think so. When I returned, I took my art work, said nothing other than thanking her tersely for her time and left. At which point I drove to Aaron Brothers where, with the professional and attentive assistance of two salespeople, I ended up spending three times that to have the piece professional framed.

The best quality and most unique framing options for affordable pricing! I’ve had most of my art framed here. Recently delivered my Cuban posters for framing… the owner called to inform me that they had some issues with the paper bubbling (low-​grade pulp and humidity coming from Cuba). Instead of dismissing the problem, they told me they’d take a photographic print of the original in order to get the job done! Such amazing trouble shooters and great customer satisfaction!

Got some prints done here. Prints were pro quality
Great matte photo paper, great colors. Was very please with the final product. Watch out though, it will be expensive for large prints… Although I guess this is the same most everywhere for this quality.
They also have plenty of poster sized prints for you to choose from.

awesome selection of prints/​posters! huge variety from art deco to photographs. Got myself a vintage SF poster and Tintin one as well. The quality of most of the prints varies but you’ll be sure to find something that is reasonably priced and is of good quality. I will definitely stop buy in the future as a place to purchase gifts for friends and family.

You get what you pay for.
We tried framing some pictures.
Low quality work and bad customer service.
Pay little more and get the job done at somewhere else.

I’m SO glad I was randomly in Berkeley, decided to walk the length of the hippie-​heavy street fair on Telegraph Ave, and subsequently was lured into the shop with the large gorgeous Mucha print in the window.
Reprint Mint has plenty of posters, small prints and postcards for sale, but the real eye-​catchers are the frameless mounted prints. You can buy one of the premade sample prints right off the wall (which I did) or you can have them custom mount any other print that takes your fancy. I loved looking at all the sample prints, they had all my favorite artists and I found a handful of new favorites to research. Next time I’m in town, I’m definitely going back!

The ONLY place to have your treasures framed. Reasonable prices, expert help, incredible options such as three styles of «frameless» mounts. Fine selection of prints and pictures. Almost as cheap as thumbtacks and tape — and a lot better for your artwork!

I have been coming here for several years to buy prints for my home. I often get prints mounted and the pricing is VERY affordable and they do a great job! Most recently, I brought in an old photo to be mounted and they were unable to mount it and explained why it would ruin the photo, I certainly appreciated their expertise opinion and I am so glad I did not ruin my old photo.
There is nearby parking up the street and it is really low cost.
Everyone who works here is nice and willing to help.
There are photos here for everyone, I always find something for myself or someone else.

The reprint mint is like an old friend– wonderfully welcoming.
There was a time when I would spot a water color still life of flowers and vases of a famous artist I do not remember the name of, and I would return again and again to spy the painting; sometimes not having the money makes you more appreciative of something before you buy it. Besides, I needed the time to appreciate the work prior to the purchasing. You just don’t get the pressure you do at a museum; having to pace yourself with each work… not able to contemplate one work for the time it justly deserves. At RM peruse at your leisure.
The mounting of the works you buy is well worth the expense! I have prints I purchased 20 years ago, still looking good.

This place is amazing! I went inside because I saw this picture of Marilyn Monroe bench pressing and I had to have it! They have a bunch of pictures of artworks, movie posters of classic movies, Andy Warhol, animals etc. They do mounting and framing, but you can just get the print.
It’s a really cool place to definitely take your time to look around in. I was too focused on getting the Marilyn Monroe poster I didn’t really look around. Then as I was leaving their was a lot more stuff I wanted to get, but it’s okay I will definitely be back.
It’s a excellent place to have art on your walls for cheap!

Budget-​friendly art for the transient student and space-​constrained renter? Sweet. I love this place as much as I love Amazon & eBay (which is a lot), and a little more than I love the SFMOMA. (Shhh.)
Aside from the wonderfully eclectic and large collection of prints/​postcards, what is particularly special about RM is the framing and mounting service. The mountings and matte finishes render ordinary posters so beautiful and gift-​worthy for people of all ages. When my parents first moved into their new home, I gave my dad a set of mounted photographs (displaying the Greek Isles) as a room-​warming present, and he loved them. The color quality is amazing, and it makes the scenes jump out and brighten up his wall so much that I’d say… it’s like the second best thing to actually going to Greece. And for considerably less money. :)
In fact… why go anywhere when you can live vicariously through the creative world of others? Reprint Mint’s collection of vintage ads, political ads, childrens’ posters, everything ever made in the art nouveau period, classical art, modern art, sketch, watercolor, pastel, photography, etc, postcard-​to-​wall-​size, can give you enough visual stimulation to make leaving your apartment obsolete. (Cal science majors, take note.)
A tip: Check the clearance section in the back of the store. There are some great mountings to be had weekly, for under $ 20.
The employees can be curt in that oh-​so-​Berkeley «I’m not really working in retail» sort of way, but… well, pronounce the artist’s name right, and you’ll survive.
Bottom Line: The only thing lacking here is a gift-​registry option.

I’ve got mixed feeling about Reprint Mint. All the artwork (including stuff in art nouveau style), movie poster, prints and frames they have, but I hate how this place makes me feel poor. I often think to myself that $ 20 print is the same amount of money as a dinner for two.
The only problem is that it leaves us both hungry.

They have a pretty good selection of art. I didn’t buy any of it, but instead bought one of their cards. They have a pretty good selection of them, a little pricy, but they are very nice.

There are some things I pin to the bulletin board and others (like diplomas and certain art work) that get a nice frame and an honoured place on my wall. The later can get expensive, so when it comes to maps and posters, I’ve depended on the Reprint Mint to do it right and at a price that brings a smile.
I recently stopped in with a couple nice 16X20 inch posters that I had purchased through Office PDX. Both have Typewriter (Royal and Olivetti) themes and turned out to be even more gorgeous after Reprint Mint got done with them. The folks minding this Telegraph Avenue location were friendly, helped me find the right combination, and delivered the result on time and on spec. Now the only thing left to do is find some more wall space.

I brought a small water color painting into Reprint Mint to be mounted. I waited 15 minutes to speak to a sales person, and took another 10 minutes going over options. The sales person was knowledgeable. She explained that mounting is done by another company and due to the machines used, the margin of error for cropping is high (¹⁄₈ in). We agreed that the painting should be cropped ¹⁄₈ in on two sides, and she wrote the instructions clearly on my order form. So far so good…
I went to pick up my order and discovered that the instructions had been ignored. The painting was mounted as-​is — no cropping. The mounting process is irreversible, so I was naturally disappointed. Instead of apologizing or offering a discount of some kind, the same sales person announced that SHE was «okay with it,» that the person who was getting the painting as a gift «probably won’t notice»…and really it was out of their hands because they use this third party company. Bottom line: There was no accountability whatsoever. I have purchased from Reprint Mint many times over 15 years and have not had problems, so this episode was a shock. Reading other reviews, though, I see that my bad-​attitude experience with the current staff was not unique…

The shop is awesome to walk around. If I had a million dollars I probably would have purchased a lot! Since I don’t I opted for a few postcards (they have great art rather than the generic ones available at all the touristy places but are def pricier).
At the register the lady was a total B. I can not convey her tone or expression over typing but she told me that she could not take credit card for such a small purchase (i forget how much but it was $ 5 – 8). I offered to pay extra so she could recoup the loss, maybe 50 cents but she looked like I offered her an old shoe instead. Almost laughing at what she must have thought was a ridiculous suggestion. No sorry, no advice on an ATM, nothing. When I asked about an ATM she replied with some condescending remark about not using ATMs. I said I was going to look for an ATM but after leaving I did not even want to give her my business.
Any vendor that takes Visa or Mastercard signs a contract which includes a statement on not allowing minimum purchases. Yes, I know that it is harder for a small local business to pay credit card transaction fees than some big corporate place but a contract is a contract. It also does not excuse her for being a B to a customer.

This place is so awesome… it’s just about the only place we know of where they will «mount» prints, pictures, anything really, and turn it into a work of art. The turnaround time is around 1 week, which is really good! We both have mountings which are 10+ years old, and they are like new.
They also have a really good selection of prints of all sizes. Everytime we visit Berkeley, this is a must drop by store on Telegraph.

Went here based on a recommendation of a friend and she said I could get cheap prints (either have them mount them or take them as is and do it myself), I did the latter.
I really enjoyed coming here on a Friday night, it was totally dead. My other friend and I just walked around and look at everything imaginable. Ended up findin 4 prints that kinda went together and they turned out to be the last of them too :) I then headed to Michaels and bought scrapbook frames for ($ 7 each). So total cost for the prints and frames was around $ 75 dollars, I consider that a deal.
I definitely want to come back here and find some more great things for my kitchen and bedroom and I plan on getting the ones for the kitchen mounted (I’m a messy girl in the kitchen).
The clerk there was a little bored but seriously, would you want to be working a beautiful Friday evening by yourself? Na I don’t think so.

We’ve been dealing with these guys for years, mostly to get things framed or mounted. When you come in with your stuff, you can get tasteful advice from the people behind the counter. Although the staff here can be a bit lackadaisical, they do have the good eye and usually push me gently toward what turn out to be the right choices. The actual work (outsourced, to be sure) is of excellent quality. So what’s not to like?
I give them a few extra points for maintaining the quality of the neighborhood. This stretch of Telegraph can use all the honest hardworking merchants it can get.
