The staff at Papyrus on 4th St in Berkeley has been fantastic with my printing request. I wanted Crane Papers to produce a custom job — — something that did not show up in their book. Alexandra and Alexis both went out of their way to help me interface with Crane, make the choices necessary, and they did wonderful follow-up when things went a bit awry between the shop and Crane. I recommend this Papyrus shop extremely highly.

Papyrus at Berkeley 4th street, was a small quaint card shop that provided a nice selection for most occasions. Friendly customer service, reasonable price for the brand. Nothing negative to report!

I was able to order Christmas Cards at this early date from Papyrus. As usual they are classy and exactly what I was looking for. Alexandra Rush was very helpful, kept her word as to delivery date and kept in touch with me in between. She was efficient, polite and charming. What more can one ask for in customer service? I look forward to being a customer. Tina B.

Wow. We were just robbed at this store. Seriously. Handed the clerk a $ 20, she gave change for a ten. She put the bill in the till before making change. Or so we thought. Her pocket I presume. Been there before. Never again. She was sooo quick to show us no twenties when we returned. Well played grifter. Well played.

I always check out this Papyrus location. You never know what they have going on in the front on their clearance table! Sometimes it’s a joke, sometimes you hit the mother lode. This time, I was not disappointed as there was a plethora of $ 1 cards! You really have to go through them, make sure envelopes match, etc. Some sang, some even moved. All were totally worth $ 1 or more. When I was getting rung up by the helpful salesperson, she said she was about to unload even more $ 1 cards. They didn’t even make it to the table as I bought the lot of them. She even provided attractive Papyrus shopping bags at no extra charge! As of Jan 1, 2013 you have to pay for bags in Alameda County.(I shoulda woulda coulda brought a bag, but didn’t).

i like paper source more for cards and stuff but papyrus is probably cheaper. however paper source has some of the chicest and cutest cards around! for like $ 7 each though… there are many cute things at papyrus but they’re more like glorified hallmark cards than anything else. many animal themed cards that look a bit tacky but hey! sometimes you just need a super tacky card. paper source sells more refined designs(wrapping paper, etc) and more tasteful cards. many very simple cards on quality paper for around $ 7. so here is my ranking of paper gifts/cards from worst to best: cvs/walgreens hallmark target papyrus paper source

If you’re a fend for yourself kind of person, and don’t care for pleasantries when forking out your money — then this is the place for you. The sales associate working the register either is a mute, or just anti-social. I like Papyrus products, but will probably not be coming back to this store.

I guess it’s a fun place if you like stationary, cards, erasers, papers, or if you’re a girl? I got hustled by the GF, who said we were going to some deli for lunch that was across the street going the opposite direction. She suckered me into the store and picked up few boxes of holiday cards from a table full of post-Christmas 50% off holiday items. She bought me lunch, so I shouldn’t complain. Sorry, this review has nothing to do w/Papyrus, except the table full of post-Christmas 50% off Holiday items — I wanted to vent. I won’t be going back, unless I needed cards, which I can now steal from the GF.

Smaller than most locations, but the staff is extremely helpful above and beyond.

Another birthday so I came here to get some cards and small gifts. The people working at Papyrus were little help but I found what I needed and moved on. I usually get boxed card sets here since they have a pretty good selection. When they have 50% off sales, I stock up.

I suppose for what it is, it isn’t bad. But overall I find the paper products limited in style. And the prices are a little high.

The woman that worked at Papyrus on Labor Day 2008 did not seem very customer service oriented. I wanted to look at their invitation selection at the back of the store and had to make eye contact and wave her over. When she came over, she was short and did not offer any help. It was clear that she did not want to help or spend more than 30 seconds with me. My experience at Paper Source a few blocks away was way more pleasant.
