Michael McCutcheon started McCutcheon Construction after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Biology and a Teaching Credential. Growing up in a family of contractors, he had always loved construction because it created real and permanent improvements in people’s lives and the community. So, it was natural for him to want to pursue that love by forming his own business to remodel homes.
Over the years, the company has served hundreds of local homeowners, delivering high quality work with impeccable service. Active in the local community, the company supports the arts and sustainable building. Michael is one of the founding members of Build It Green, the premier residential green building organization in California.
McCutcheon provides fine remodeling services for discriminating homeowners who want to develop their property to its highest potential. Working in partnership with fine design, outstanding results are assured every time.

Business Owner
Michael McCutcheon grew up in Long Beach, CA in a family of contractors. He attended UC Berkeley and graduated with a degree in Biology and a Teaching Credential. After graduating, he was the Director of the International Meditation Society in Berkeley until he returned to construction, forming his own business in 1980.
Michael lives in Berkeley with his wife, Jan, and enjoys outdoor recreation including camping, hiking, skiing, and cycling. He is devoted to sustainable building, which enables him to bring his universal respect for life and systems to his work and the community. He serves on the Board of Build It Green, the premier residential green building organization in California.
