Awwwesome! I left my phone with Joe to shop at Target. Twenty minutes later, I’m back and my phone is all fixed.
I was referred by a friend, who learned about Joe from the Hispanic community. I attempted to converse with Joe using my rudimentary Spanish.
I bombarded Joe with all sorts of questions. How long will it take (my phone is like air and water to me)? Is there a warranty? Can my phone be revived?!
Not all of this was in Spanish, of course.
Joe took the time to answer my questions and gave me a peace of mind. He’s like a shrink for people like me who cannot live without my phone. And, on a different subject matter, I learned a little about Venezuela.

I took my brand new iPhone 6 in to Joe in August to try to get it unlocked. Since I had just bought it & it was on a business plan with AT&T, he had a lot of trouble getting the process to work, but he was persistent — he tried several times to get it unlocked & kept in touch about how it was going, including giving me a refund each time it didn’t work out. I don’t think it usually takes so long, but I’m grateful that he didn’t give up. Will definitely go back to Joe for all my iPhone needs.

Professional and prompt service, joe is easy to talk to and knows his job. He is very professional and treats everyone equal. I highly recomand him because not everyone know what their doing but joe does.

Great place! My iPhone 5s had a shattered screen. I looked him up, compared prices with another place nearby, and his prices are definitely cheaper. I made an appointment for the next day, and got reminders to my phone and e-​mail, which included a map and time of appointment. It took him about 15 – 20 minutes to fix my screen. It cost me $ 90 and he accepts credit card payment! Very friendly! Definitely recommend, he even gave me a free screen protector!

My boyfriend found an iPhone sitting on a counter. No one came back for it so he decided to see if we were able to get it unlocked. Lucky enough, the activation lock (icloud) wasn’t setup yet. We remembered «joe» iPhone service from awhile back so we contacted him. Joe was very professional. What made my experience with him 5 stars is how he is very orgainzed. He has a website to setup all his appointments with different times, which is very convenient. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30am and I was running a little late. Joe was very understanding. Dropped off the phone to him and less than 30 mins, the phone was ready for pick up. I was soo excited everything went smooth that I forgot my drink at the café and left. Smh. I highly recommend «joe» for any iPhone issues. We look forward to doing business with him again.

THis was a very quick and easy repair, and relatively affordable. there is one other person that was more affordable (but unreliable) in the area. I called joe, he set up a meeting asap, and he texted me the address and even a reminder text berfore the meeting. He is honest, prompt and conveniently located in a coffee shop. Parking is a bit complicated in that area, butt he is very prompt and tells you a straigh up time. Hope i wont need him again, but will definitely recommend him to others.

Called Joe to unlock my phone as I was traveling overseas. He said not a problem and was quick about it. This said — if you want to unlock your phone for travel, contact Joe as early as possible. It takes a minimum of some 7 days and in my case over 14 days. I had a similar experience years ago so I understand this is not Joe’s fault.
So, even though I was well into Europe by the time my phone was unlocked I have to praise Joe for his communication and follow up. From the looks of this Unilocal page, he’s a busy guy to begin with but communication and setting expectations are key. Also worth noting was I did never met Joe or had to go to Berkeley. I just called, and the rest of our exchange was via text and paypal. Doesn’t get easier than that.
I’d use Joe again, but ensure I bother him a month or more before my next trip (with my next phone)

I have to admit I’m becoming a skeptic.
Some other people have reported having their phones put back together with sub-​par materials and I don’t know enough about phones to really know what I’m getting but I have had some trouble around my phone after repairs here.
The first time I had my screen replace on my iPhone 5 and after it was replaced my earpiece buzzed whenever I talked on the phone without my headphones. I brought it in and explained that it had started buzzing after the repair (granted, I took too long to bring it back… about 6 weeks, as I was out of the country). Joe was skeptical that it had anything to do with his repair given that he works in a «static-​free» zone, but he also said that unless I work around giant magnets, nothing in the outside should have allowed the static in either. I kept asking whether there was any chance that something had happened during the screen repair and he kept saying that it was «highly unlikely» but not impossible. It seems the most likely explanation to me since I’d never had the buzzing before the screen repair… but rather than giving me the benefit of the doubt he gave me a «discount» on a new earpiece but I still had to pay $ 30 for the replacement (which took 5 min). If there’s any chance it was damaged during the screen repair, I think it’s better business to just replace it for me.
After that, my phone screen cracked on day. I’ve had an iPhone for 4 years and I’ve literally thrown them on the ground accidentally with no damage. The last one that cracked happened after 2 years of use and probably hundreds of falls. Yet this screen, without my even noticing a fall or bump, cracked within a few months. My guess is it’s not as strong or resilient as the other. Again, I know nothing about phones so maybe this is all just coincidence but it’s definitely leaving me feeling like I should take my phone elsewhere in the future.

My friend was looking on my phone for a place to fix his I phone, after that I have received 3 text messages AND a voice mail! I have no interest in this service. I can not stand spam, and you are spamming my phone. Please stop contacting me, I dont have an Iphone. If you use his service just know he will keep contacting you.

Ever had a cracked screen? You know the embarrassing looks people give you. Or it was just messed up period? What a bad feeling right?
My lady had the worse luck by dropping her iPhone and the glass was shattered it was an eye sore. It hurt her heart to have this damaged iPhone. She didn’t want to ultimately buy a new phone. So with thorough searches she came across finding «The Skilled iPhone Craftsman» Joe.
Though we were a little late for our appointment with him he still took us. He is very experienced at this since he told me he’s been doing this since iPhone came into existence that’s about 5+years experience buddy.
He does it all from replacing the screen and making sure everything is in place. Talk about awesomeness.
He done it within 30mins talk about efficient. This guy is awesome. I thank you Joe for replacing my lady’s iPhone screen. She is one happy camper. You go bruh!!!

A nerd with people skills? Yes! Joe is fast, reasonably priced, friendly, and obviously on top of his game. Not only did he unlock my phone with dazzling speed, he gave me excellent advice about the options I had in terms of carriers.
By the way, one review a couple of months ago states that Joe only takes cash and gives no receipt. That may have been the case then, but he most def takes credit cards now. Also, I did get a receipt, hand-​written, but still a receipt.

JOE IS AWESOME!!! He does water damage repair too!
So I dropped my phone in the toilet (water was clean) and I lagged a little to take it out because I was grossed out. Anyway, I did all the wrong things. First, I dried it and then sprayed it with disinfecting spray (I know I know stupid) and dried it again. I left it on, and it would turn off on me. Whenever it turned off, I kept turning it on. Sooo I’m sure I must have caused some major short circuits.
Afterwards it wouldn’t turn on at all. I put it in rice for a day and when I turned it on the next day the apple logo would appear and then my screen would turn red, get black lines and repeat.
I thought my iPhone was done for, BUT JOE FIXED IT. It’s been working perfectly again, like nothing ever happened. He asked for $ 160 and I tipped $ 20 because of how overjoyed I was.
So if your phone has water damage, don’t lose hope. Come to Joe, he works wonders :)

so convenient! i made an appointment last night, walked in today and handed joe my phone and he said it’d be ready in about 30 minutes — so i sat in the café and drank my coffee while i worked on some music. in 20 minutes or so he walked over to me and told me my phone was ready, so i paid him in cash and walked out with my phone feeling brand new :) it was $ 105 for my black iphone 6, which is very reasonable and cheaper than apple itself.
the replacement screens he uses come with those cheap plastic peel covers, so you’re free to take it home and put on another screen cover. he also gives you a complimentary screen cover! he asks you for your unlock code so he can make sure everything (the lcd monitor and the actual functions) is working fine. i’ll definitely be coming back here if my phone shatters again, which knowing me will most likely happen soon :(

I cracked my iPhone 6 screen in February. Since I really wanted to have the screen fixed ASAP, I went on Unilocal and found Joe who has the highest rating among all and is very close to Cal campus. Without a second thought, I immediately made an appointment with Joe through its website which I found very convenient and efficient.
After my experience with Joe’s service, DISAPPOINTEDLY, I found so many reasons that you should not have Joe to fix your cracked iPhone:
1, He required me to give him my PASSCODE so he can unlock and check some important info. I found it unnecessary but I still gave him my passcode because I believed he was professional.
(Recently, I dropped my phone again — the LCD was defected — so i brought it to a local, reliable phone repair company in New York. «Surprisingly,» they DON’T need my passcode at all!)
2, See photos attached. The screen and the phone body are partially DETACHED! A GAP can be found where the screen light leaks… The screen is obviously not installed properly and professionally.
3, The iPhone screen provided by Joe has a relatively cooler hue than the original iPhone screen.
4, Back in February, he charges me $ 180 while Apple Store has the same service which only costs $ 109! Back then, I believe the premium was reasonable because I was told that the phone can be fixed within 30 – 45 minutes. And since I need it to be fixed immediately, I was ok to pay more than what Apple Store offered.
If Joe had done a great job on the screen repairing, I wouldn’t have had to give him such bad review. What makes me more upset/​unsatisfied is that Joe is now only charging $ 105 for iPhone6 screen repair…
Tip:
Inspect your phone right at the spot carefully after Joe has done the repair work. Since he only accepts cash and does not provide any receipt, after sale service could be impossible.

Suddenly, last night, my iphone went dead, only apple symbol showed. with recharging and pushing various buttons, it came back on.
found «joe» on Unilocal.looked for his location in berkeley. turns out he’s just sitting in the «People» coffee shop.
diagnosed my problem as the battery, changed and charged my battery within 30 minutes. great price ($ 50).
