History
Established in 2013.
Elders Together was established after principal Linda Jacobson worked for a year as a placement specialist with Assisted Transition, a national network. For decades Linda has helped people understand complicated information: as science & tech journalist, co-founding editor of Wired magazine, teacher at San Francisco State U., international lecturer, and author of «how-to» books and articles.
With deep interest in brain health, Linda began following cognitive neuroscience research in the ‘90s while helping to introduce 3D surgical simulation to the medical industry — around the time her grandmother developed dementia and moved to a nursing home. From 2002 – 2007, Linda provided long-term, long-distance care for her mother and grandmother. The experience inspired Linda to become a certified senior advisor and help people streamline the process of choosing quality elder-care.
