Description

Specialties

I am a birth doula. The doula’s role is to provide emotional and physical support before, during and after labor to the mother. The doula helps her feel comfortable and reminds her to keep her breathing at a steady pace throughout contractions. I am on-call and available twenty four hours a day for you. You can call me any time two to four weeks before and one to three weeks after your due date. I will stay with you for the duration of your labor and birth, and for a few hours after the baby is born. The mother in labor deserves to be nurtured, to be heard and respected, and to be free to surrender herself to the birthing experience. For most mothers, giving birth will be unlike any other experience she has ever had and it may completely change the way she views herself and the world. The doula’s role is to make sure that all these needs are met.

An additional service that I offer is placenta encapsulation and tincture.

History

Established in 2010.

My name is Susi Galloso, I have been a birth doula since 2010. My skills are valued by the moms, their partners and the birth team as a whole. I also am an Infant massage instructor, pre and postnatal massage therapist and yoga instructor which I incorporate in my service to mothers. Each birth I learn something new to help my mama clients.

Business Owner

My name is Susi Galloso, I am a graduate of the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley where I began my studies in women’s health, Tui Na massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. I continued my education with my doula training through DONA in 2010 with Carol Shattuck-Rice, I did my search for more educational studies in birth work and attended the Heart & Hands Midwifery intensive and Heart & Hands Advanced workshop instructed by Elizabeth Davis in May of 2012. In learning how to help mothers I also wanted them to be comfortable before and after their pregnancy. I did my Pre and Postnatal massage training with Carol Osborne in August 2012, and as I continued attending births I found how important it is to help the bond grow stronger between mother and their new born. I attended Infant Massage Educator training through IAIM with JoAnn Lewis in August 2012.

I truly enjoy and love my work and see myself continuing for a very long time.
