DB Glass and Shower Door

I had DB Glass installed 4 frameless showers for a new construction. The whole process was prompt from a free quote to scheduling installation. Dan took extra steps to ensure things are done right which shows how much he cares about his work and customers. Staffs were polite and on time. Happy with the customer service and would recommend the company.

I contacted this company for a shower glass wall and door. They sent someone to take a look within the hour and I received an estimate the same day. Then the project was delayed a bit by other contractors and vendors so when I called them to give them the go ahead, I was a bit in a hurry. I wished the job completed in less than a week and they did do it: someone came the next morning to take the final measurements and the glass was fabricated and installed in less than 6 days. The cost was exactly that quoted. The installer did an excellent job. My shower looks great. It was done on my demanding schedule. I could not be happier.
By contrast, the other vendor, that I had contacted on the same initial day to get a second quote, came back to me only after two additional calls and two emails… a week after DB Glass had completed the job (I had long given up)…and they were more expensive!
So, DB Glass stands heads and shoulders above their competition.

DB Glass installed new shower doors in my remodeled bathroom. They are very easy to work with, and gave several good suggestions (there are a lot of options to pick from), and the price was very competitive. The installer Alan did a very clean job and got the new doors up and in very quickly.

Working with this company was great from the beginning.
We found DB on Unilocal and it turned out that the positive comments were accurate.
The shop staff were so helpful and we felt very comfortable with our decision to trust our order with them.
Alan who installed the door was great too. He was friendly, professional and worked quickly. As a fellow dog lover I appreciated his kindness toward my dogs.
All in all a great experience. We will recommend this company to our friends and contractors.

Great service. Came out for a quote. Discussed options and gave advice for a bathtub door enclosure. Wasn’t pushy. About the same price as some of the others I spoke with, but I had more confidence in DB based on their professionalism and other Unilocal reviews.

We had a few shower glass doors installed during our remodel a little over 2 years ago by DB glass. They all looked good at the time. One shower contains a glass corner. After about 2 years the glass on the corner shifted enough to come into contact with the closed shower door. I called my contractor who called DB glass to fix it. They came out and fixed it by replacing the small plastic spacer that was holding up the glass underneath the caulk. Unfortunately, they first assumed it was the shower door that had «sagged». They adjusted that for a while before realizing that wasn’t it and going to the glass panel. Now my shower door is not very straight or level and leaks. In retrospect, the plastic spacer clearly compressed over time and caused the problem. I was then sent a bill for almost $ 200. When I called to complain they said that I was out of the 1 year warranty. In the course of a number of testy conversations with different members of DB glass I was told lots of things included that my house probably settled (it hasn’t, it was built in 1958). They said that most shower doors do sag which is why they don’t warranty their work more than 1 year. I have talked to a number of friends of mine who have the same time of shower door, installed by different companies, and none have had this problem.
I would suggest to use a different installer that has figured out how to install their doors/​corners so they don’t sag/​shift over time. Clearly DB glass hasn’t. Otherwise, expect to pay every few years to keep your shower door working.

This review is a bit overdue. We live in a home that was built many, many years ago. Luckily, the previous owners gutted the place and did a great job updating it. However, our master bathroom is the only room that didn’t get included in the makeover but it’s still super clean and totally functional. That said, I got so tired of the old school shower door and decided to get a new one. I called 5 different shower door companies and it was a very easy decision to go with as DB Glass. WOW! These guys have it going on. Super timely, friendly and professional. Not to mention, very affordable too. I’m SO happy I ended up with DB because now with our new updated semi-​frameless shower door, I just ‘remodeled’ the bathroom for a bargain!
Seriously, I’ve done all the leg work for you. If you need a new shower door, give them a call. You’ll thank me for it.

I live in Fremont but i heard that these people are awesome. so i had them do my frameless shower.
There is no quesion that these poeple know what they are doing.
I got Sergio for the estimate and install. the dude is an expert.
Some may say they are pricier or what not. but when it comes to the final accent of the most widely used function of the tub. which is the door. then its important to get it right.
Expect a reasonable cost for high quality.

Since my initial review we have had DB glass out to do a few more projects for us. Every project was done really well. I will continue to recommend DB Glass.

needed a 40“x44″ mirror for a bathroom remodel. searched many stores with little success. stumbled on DB via Unilocal.Cut the mirror custom. Cheaper than stuff at stores, exact size and thick. Great value, service and quality. Will buy more from them.

We used DB for a frameless shower door and mirror installation. They were a bit pricier than another quote we got, but once I saw how accurate and professionally the measurement was done I knew they’d do a better job.
The cuts were all perfectly made to fit and the installation was a breeze (just a couple of hours). We are very happy with our shower door and will definitely use them again!

I had to obtain a part for a shower door – I called the office (Ann) and they had this in stock – I just needed to ensure I got there in the morning to have it custom cut.
Ann provided excellent customer service – very happy that a business values this!
DB Glass had installed our frameless shower door/​enclosure during a remodel a few years ago – their work quality is excellent and we’ve had no issues on the installation to this day!

It was by chance that I found DB Glass 10 years ago as I was responding to an ad I saw for CB Glass and called DB glass in error. However, after having work done by both Companies, I exclusively use DB Glass for all my glass needs. They have installed new shower doors, repaired cracked windows, glazed old windows, replaced seal failed garden house windows, cut intricate starbrite custom shelving for furniture and provided Mirror for framing, to name a few. It’s a family owned business that is honest and run by hardworking people with outstanding work at competitive prices. To boot, Danny Barker, the Owner, is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Don’t get lured in by fancy advertising but call DB Glass, as I did, which was one of the luckiest mistakes I have ever made.

Daniel was able to help me out at last minute with a piece of glass I needed cut. Very friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends.

A year ago I called another Redwood City glass company to come out and do a estimate on fixing our shower door, they came out and wouldn’t return my call to schedule an appointment. I finally got so tired of a shower door that was barely hanging up by two metal brackets, I found DB Glass on Unilocal because the silicone under one of our shower doors stopped holding the glass in place, and it turned black ugly.
DB Showers was very professional when scheduling an appointment. They were able to set up a time within the week, and gave me many date and time options.
Sergio came out, fixed the shower silicone, also replaced the plastic strip under the door without a problem, and he also added another strip on the side to prevent the water from leaking out at that point.
Sergio was very knowledgeable about why the silicone wore out in the first place, and on how to prevent it from happening so soon.
He said no job is too small for DB Glass, and I will use them again! Cost seem high, $ 195.00, but I was willing to pay just about anything to get the glass panel fixed

We had a broken shower glass door and DB glass did a prompt service to fix it at a reasonable price. The broken door caused other complications but the owner took extra pains to address the issue. Overall, it was a great experience. Dan the owner is just fabulous. He explained the problem at length and set our expectations right. Then he simply over delivered. Dan has a great team working for him.

My glass shower door was making a huge banging noise. I sent the guys a picture of the hinges which I assumed needed replacing. They brought replacement hinges to the service call but after looking at the problem said it was an adjustment that was needed not hinges.
He also showed me how to make the adjustment in case it ever happened again. He could have easily sold me expensive hinges but was friendly helpful and honest — did I also say on time.

I had DB Glass and Shower Door do both of my bathrooms over the past few years, so when I needed sliding mirror closet doors, I went to DB Glass again. They had moved from their San Carlos location but a little internet search made it easy to find their new location, guess they’ve been there a year now !!
Anyway, great people, great prices, great service !! I had dealt with Dan (the owner) and found him to be very knowledgeable and very helpful. He also came out to assist with and supervise the installations of the shower doors. I recommend them and will be going back as I have more closets to do !!!

Our bathroom re-​modeling contractor recommended DB for our frame less shower door & enclosure. So although we are in SF & they are in San Carlos we contacted them.
DB provided free measuring & estimate. The whole job from order to install took less than 2 weeks.
The install was quick & well done. The glass looks great & the double swing door works smoothly.
All re-​modeling projects should go so well!

Very helpful upfront, and initial install went well and the shower glass looks great. When the glass shower door started sagging, they fixed it once. When it sagged the second time in two years, they now want $ 98 to fix it again. We never imagined that this purchase would be an ongoing expense like a car tune-​up. The fact that some of the screws were partially stripped by their repair person during the first fix is going to make it very difficult to try and repair ourselves. DB Glass hasn’t been helpful in resolving this; they just said it’s past warranty. Be aware of the ongoing costs before purchasing.
UPDATE: DB Glass provided me with new, improved screws (allen wrench-​style) that I hope will help resolve the problem.
