Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

This is initial. The room was very clean and on the ground floor. The WIFI seemed to work ok. The bathroom was a little dated but also clean and just fine for the price.
My problem with this place is the kind of people it caters too. There was more than a couple of shady characters walking around after dark, lots of slamming doors, people laughing, talking, doing stuff in their rooms. This is a motel plain and simple. If you stay here, park your car near the office and ask for a room on the third floor in the back of the place. That way you can avoid all the guests that stay here for purposes other than why your here, because you are on business and this is what your company will pay for.
Bottom line, clean room, unsavory guests. Also, a super shady casino of some sorts next door. I’m sure that’s where some of the sleeze comes from.
Update. Guests upstairs from me are having a domestic dispute at 11:10pm while I am trying to sleep. About to call B-​Ham PD if the staff doesn’t resolve the issue. Stay elsewhere. I have no idea how some of the shady people they let stay here get approved and have credit cards, unbelievable. Plus, the daily room service sucks. No coffee replacement the last two mornings.

I have nothing good to say about this place, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Just stayed here for a couple of nights; they allow pets, and it was close to friends’ house we were visiting.
A lot of noisy guests, though, thanks to construction workers staying there. Thumping all night long on the second floor, we found it hard to sleep. I don’t blame the owners themselves, but the cheap rates bring that kind of clientele. Also, it’s right next to the Interstate 5 highway, so expect that noise all night long, too.
(Suggestion: the Rodeway Inn is next door, but slightly farther away from the highway. For the extra $ 5/​night, it should be worth the peace and quiet.)
The complimentary breakfast wasn’t great, either: I basically had cereal and a bagel both mornings. The towels are tiny, even for a triathlete like me. With EconoLodge, you get what you pay for, so again … no true complaints here.

Good budget-​level motel right next to freeway – but I never heard any traffic noise in my lower-​level room. Plenty of parking, and right on a major thoroughfare where you can find many restaurants and other businesses. Free wi-​fi, sparse but tasty breakfast (no hot dishes; pancake
maker which I did not try out). I ended up staying over a week, and the front desk staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful. Not fancy or luxurious. Keep your expectations in line and you will be happy.

Decent for the price. Paid $ 80 for 2 queen beds and a large room. Had all amenities usual hotels do. Clock, TV, free wifi, tissues, and the best air conditioning ever.
They had a wide variety of continental breakfast in the morning which is available until 10am.
Getting a room on the bottom floor was the best. They even have extra pillows in the room on each bed if you are like me and sleep with many, you don’t need to ask.
Overall I would stay again for sure.

zero stars for this terrible place. Worst staff, unhelpful, too bad there isnt a decent hotel in bellingham. If there were the econo lodge would be out of business. I will never get close to this place again.

This hotel is disgusting. First of all, it’s like a motel 6, but more expensive. For one night I paid $ 120 and when I arrived there were flies in my room. Everything is very dingy and old. Not enough towels and the beds are very hard. Also, the mattress pad on top of the bed is to small and only covers the middle of the bed. I was almost afraid to sit on the chairs in the room because they looked so dirty. What tops it all off, is that when I asked for late check out, they couldn’t even accommodate at all! Not even if I paid extra. I will NEVER stay here again. You are better off staying at motel 6 for $ 50.

Stayed overnight before catching a flight the next day at BLI. Booked a NON SMOKING room because I am a non smoker and hate the smell of cigarette smoke but of course they place us in a SMOKING room. Let me tell you, it was bad, really bad. Bad as in you almost needed a hazmat suit to breath in the room. I’m a non smoker and immediately after walking through the door the odour hits you like a ton of f — ing bricks. It was shocking really. The cigarette smell was unbelievably strong, never have smelt smoking odour that strong in my entire life. This is third hand smoke I’m talking about too, which is even more toxic than second hand smoke!
Immediately called front desk to change rooms. Their response, «there’s no available rooms… I don’t know how they would have got a smoking room mixed up with a non smoking room». End of conversation. So we had no choice but to stay in the room. Luckily it was just one night. Couldn’t wait to breath fresh air the following morning. Besides the awful smell, the room was clean.
PARKING: For the size of this place, their parking does not even have capacity for every room. We had to park in another hotels parking lot next door!
If your just staying overnight this econo lodge is perfectly fine for that; it’s cheap and only 5 mins away from the airport. The free wifi sucks though, it always drops so your lucky if you get a signal and stay connected for more than a minute.

Pretty good place to stop for the night. I was towing a car and this is one of the few hotels in the area that have enough parking to accommodate that. The pool and hot tub were nice too. Breakfast was alright, but nothing too crazy. My bed was in plastic so I thought my room might have bed bugs, but I never confirmed that… It’s probably okay. Internet doesn’t work very good… at least from my room.

A-​ok for the price if you need a cheap place to stay near BLI airport.
Came here in a bind and Econo Lodge serves the purpose for a one night stay. I’d definitely look elsewhere if you’re actually visiting the area.
Cons:
— motel style so you always need your curtains drawn otherwise people can look in when walking by
— very dated — old phone, old TV
— noisy heating
Pros:
— cheap
— free breakfast. No bad — pancake maker, some fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, pastries.
— free wi-​fi and free parking
— self-​serve laundry on site

Not sure how much traveling the other reviewers have done but this hotel is one of the worst I have stayed. We were in Bellingham for a local soccer tournament. The hotel required a two night stay at a rate of $ 145 a night! Perhaps I would be a bit more accepting of the conditions if the rate were $ 70 a night. The room had a smell, the carpet was extremely dirty, there was mold in the bathroom, the air conditioner and electrical outlets were dirty and loose. Walls and ceilings were extremely thin.

Good clean rooms very pleasant value for money

Not impressed. Stayed in room 213 facing the freeway. Stayed here for a soccer tournament in town. Prices are not cheap for low end accommodations. August price of $ 135/​night.
The good:
Two queen beds, coffee maker, mini fridge, small microwave, free wifi (unsecured with no in-​room wall jack), pool, hot tub & free very basic breakfast with juice and coffee.
The bad:
Very outdated room, the carpet is nasty, the beds have undersized mattress covers (maybe better to call them a mini pad). Popcorn ceiling, noise from all neighbors (up, down, all around). The room just has that feel to it like you want to wear gloves to touch anything in it. Felt like sleeping in my clothes. Room appears to be clean but you know it has that deep down dirty to it. Sticky residue on nightstand which was missed by cleaning staff. I could go on but won’t.
Let’s face it, I’m used to staying in nicer hotels but we didn’t have much choice since everything in the area was booked early. Obviously others have been through this before and are smart enough to reserve the nicer places early. You live and you learn.

That’s for the value– if you can get book online for just $ 70! Considering the location, only 5 min drive from the main strip of shopping by Bellis Fair, Costco, etc. and the relatively clean and simple décor, sure why not!
Not date-​worthy material, but for a quick night over, the most important to me is cleanliness and safety. No flat screen (is it called tv tube?) but refrig, microwave, hair dryer and 86%cotton/14% polyester towels surprisingly still fluffy.
Best is free parking on the ground level, w/​own entrance, otherwise, try your luck lugging up your luggage on its 3 floors lol.

Checking in was quick. The gal was friendly and professional.
When I walked into my room I was immediately hit by the smell of bar soap. I kid you not, it smelled like they cleaned the entire place with Dial. Which was overwhelming at first, but rather pleasant as I spent more time in the room.
The room was spacious and impeccably clean. Clean carpet, clean sheets, clean bathroom. I was in motel heaven. There was even a fridge AND microwave! Too bad I didn’t bring any instant noodles with me.
Aside from being able to hear my upstairs neighbors (just the floors creaking, not anything else, thank god) and the traffic outside (it’s right off I-​5, what do you expect), it was a rather nice overnight experience.
If you’re ever in need of stopping in Bellingham, I would recommend this place. Super convenient location, too.

The place was very inexpensive but very nice. Staff was very friendly. The room I stayed in was big, clean, and the place had all the stuff I like: wireless internet, cable, and proximity to malls and restaurants.

Solid budget hotel with the lowest price (by at least 30%) I could find online in the area by far (AAA discount).
Clean room with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, cable TV, hot shower, three easily accessible power outlets, and free wireless fast enough for me to remote desktop over VPN. Meager continental breakfast (toast, bagels, cereal, cold hard boiled eggs, coffee, juice). Outdoor pool still covered.
Last night some residents were grilling in the back parking lot.
Friendly staff and located right off of I-​5 near restaurants and movie theater. I’d have upped the stars if it was just a tad more modern.
