Sun Ray Auto Service

I used Joe and his team at Sun Ray Auto for years and trusted them with my vehicles as well as family (ie. Grandma). They are fair priced and honest. On multiple occasions they would either not charge (if a problem could not be found or diagnosed), or would not try and sell me on service that was not needed. I don’t write many reviews, but I have owed Joe and his team a 5-​star for a very long time. I only wish after moving that I wasn’t so far from his shop that it makes it difficult to use. Even so, i’m considering making the drive.

I have been using this shop since I was in college, and I’m about to retire. The other reviews are accurate. These are honest mechanics, not the cheapest but the best. I recently discovered that not only are they good for your average maintenance, but Joe actually knows quite a bit about performance upgrades and is very well connected amongst the racing community. I was glad to hear he will be able to maintain my newly built high-​performance engine. I’ve never been unhappy with my experience there, and I’ve never been taken advantage of…

I absolutely love Ramon and the team! ALL of my cars, and my old truck, are serviced as quoted, on-​time, at the right price… and they truly get fixed! I don’t have to come back because they missed something. And they NEVER fix something without asking first. And they don’t try to offer to fix ridiculous things at ridiculous prices (as has happened to me at some OE dealerships).

This is a great shop for repairs. Joe Oikiyama and the mechanics are all knowledgeable and efficient to find the problem and repair it the quickest and least expensive way. They have been in business with most of the same mechanics for a very long time and most of their customers are there because of recommendations from friends. They in turn will recommend Sun Ray to their friends.

I have only been in the area for a little over 2 years so finding a good mechanic wasn’t easy. Fortunate for me, Sun Ray was recommended by a friend who lived in the area yearrrrs ago. Luckily, Ramon stil works there… and he is one of the nicest mechanics you will ever deal with.
We’ve had a/​c work done, brakes, tune ups, and oil changes done on our Honda and Toyota. We also took our older Jag there and Ramon, being the honest guy he is, told us he couldn’t fix what we needed, and didn’t charge to look at it!
As another Unilocaler mentioned, it’s not the cheapest but they do darned good work, promises always kept. They also make recommendations as to what repairs «should» be done, however, they don’t tell you that your car is going to die if you don’t get the work done. In other words, they are not out to get your money, but they are there to do what all mechanics should… That is fix your car so it’s running as best as it can.

If youre looking for the cheapest place in town… i dont think this is the right place for you. But if you need to get your car fixed and you don’t feel like hearing the thousand imaginary things wrong with it… then come here. They are straight to the point and provide a quality service. They’ve been around for a long time and the client base is all loyal customers or referrals through word of mouth. Ask for Joe, he’ll help you out.

Decent service — most of the motor jocks have been here for years. The main problem is they can be difficult to provide a call back. They don’t offer the best prices, but if you are near the 91 & need your wheels serviced, they are reliable in a pinch.
