Ahoy Dry Cleaners

My First time here and I’m Very pleased, brought in a 2 piece men’s suit for next day service and just picked it up and it looks fantastic!

I took my sons RETC dress blues in and they came out amazing.

Got my winter coat repaired and cleaned. Good as new. Got some shirts washed and pressed… love it when they come in them new hangers in the plastic wrap.

I have used this place many times to dry clean my king size bedspread. The customer service is always great. I am usually charged 35 to 40 dollars when I bring in a single bed spread. This last time I brought in 2 bed spreads and got a discount price of 55 dollars. The woman at the counter told me it was a discount for being a good customer. Try them out.

I dropped two pants for changing zippers. She asked me when do I want to pick it up. I told her Saturday coz my husband needs it very badly. She told they can’t do it Saturday but Monday it will be ready. ok i told her. What can I do… I came Monday around 330pm and when I got there the other pants is not even ready!!! I asked her why it’s not yet ready… And she answered me she has a customer that she needs to attend to… WHAT??? Are u kidding me? What about me? Am I not a paying customer? And u promise me that I can pick it up Monday? Good thing I came in the afternoon… what if I came early in the morning… Maybe I will wait longer!!! If u promise a certain day, make sure it’s ready… U will LOSE customers!!!

We are long time customers, mostly for dry cleaning and minor alterations. Always great cleaning and on time. Good customer service. No complaints here. We have tried other cleaners in the area over the years, but either ‘cheap but shoddy’ or ‘decent but in terrible neighborhood.’ Ahoy is the best we’ve found in this area. Would definitely recommend!

I recently went to pick up my jacket without a ticket and she not only couldnt find my ticket but, also couldnt find my jacket. Which gets me mad because on Saturday, when i had my ticket, she said they closed at 2 but the sign on the door says 3. It was 2:30ish and i was on Lakewood Blvd. & Rosecrans and she asked how long would it take me, i said around 5 minutes. She said she couldnt wait that long. I was like, why even ask? I go on Tuesday and she can’t find my jacket, which i just bought. I asked her why she said she closed at 2, if her sign says 3? She pulls a piece of paper out of under the counter, which says closes at 2. I told her, «what good is that, if the sign on the door says 3?». Nobody can see that piece if paper under the counter! Take that old ass sign off the door that say’s 3 then! I hope that when I go back, she finds my new favorite jacket! She kept asking me, over and over, if I went by a different name, when she was looking for my ticket, and I kept saying no! I needed that jacket over the weekend and from now on, I am never going back because I need a cleaners that is going to be open on weekends! I really hope she didn’t give my green bomber jacket away! I have been going here for quite some time but, I do sometimes go to other cleaners depending upon where I may be living. The lady is very happy and kind. I’ve had suits tailored here but, on my sport coats, she has forgotten to take the strings off of the pockets. It is pricey. I recently took a LRG green bomber jacket to have some grease spots taken off. I had a piece of fatburger fall on it. It took a week and paid $ 15. If I could find a greener cleaners with better prices, I would go to it. For now though, her sweetness has me returning.

Was told my stuff will be ready 10 on a Saturday sure enough came picked up ready to go I’ll be back

I brought my living room rug here to get dry cleaned. They took an extra week past the promised timeline and didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. I specifically told them when I needed it by and they promised and did not deliver on the timeline. That’s forgivable but the rug came back smelly and sticky. They did not do well cleaning it. I only went to this place because of the rave reviews but I will not be going back. I wouldn’t be surprised if all the good reviews were bought or written by family-​friends because they did a terrible job. What a waste of $ 65.

What is there to say about a dry cleaners? Well they clean and crease my clothes up pretty good. A bit on the pricy side but they get the job done. Very friendly lady who handles the shop so all and all I give them a good four star rating :)

After the wedding I had to get my suit cleaned and pressed. Not only did they do an awesome job with getting out the wine and cake stains from my shirt and tie, my suit looks like a million bucks!!!

They do a great job, like they say you pay for what you get. The Owner is very friendly and accommodating.

Very nice lady. I walked in with dress pants that needed to be hemmed and she did just that as well as pressed them, right in front of me. I was out the door with my pants already hemmed in 15 minutes. The price wasn’t too bad either. Very satisfied, will definitely be coming back often, as I am short and need to hem everything, lol.

I along with lots of other people I know take their dry cleaning here. I have always beeen very satisfied. I was in search for a major alteration (4″ bust and hem) to my daughters prom dress and didn’t know where to go. I read the alteration reviews here and took a leap of faith and am so glad I did.
What a beautiful job! I will be forever taking my alterations to Ahoy and referring all my friends as well.

I’ve gone to Ahoy for a few years to have my clothes altered… Two years ago I took a blouse in to have it shortened a lttle because I planned to wear it to my daughter’s high school graduation… When I picked it up the hem was jagged and not in any condition to wear… Eventually I took it to Hannah’s on South & Lakewood to be repaired…
Against my better judgement, I dropped off a skirt and a beautiful lace top to be altered last week for a red carpet event we have TONIGHT… When I picked up my clothes last night I noticed my top looked incredibly short. I took it home, immediately tried it on and was mortified at how much they removed… The top was ruined… I immediately called to complain and of course she denied any wrong doing but told me to bring it in… Knowing I was screwed and pressed for time I first ran out to purchase a new top and went back to Hannah’s where I begged the owner to help me again… My top will be ready in time for our big event tonight…
I took my top back to Ahoy to show her what was wrong… I was shocked at how the owner was yelling at me telling me she is a chrisitan and doesn’t lie and I ok’d her to hem it that short… First of all, I don’t wear ANYTHING to reveal my midriff so why would I agree to cut off half my shirt to show my stomach for a special event… I also pointed out the 4 stains that were on the back in which she got even louder and told me they were not there when I left earlier and I had done them. The shirt was in my possession for 3 hours in which the enitre time it was still in the plastic hanging in my car while I got my nails done… When I got home I put it in my closet before trying it on…
In the end, I tossed the shirt to her on my way out the door as it is useless to me and she took ZERO responsibility for any wrong doing… For a business owner who screamed at me about how much she prides herself on customer service she sure did lack it last night and lost a customer…

I was coming here for about a good 6 months, until the Owner really piss*d me off with her rude comments/​poor service.
I typically wear my dress shirts 2(maybe 3 depending on color) times before coming here and dropping it off for dry cleaning. I brought in some clothes on a typical Tuesday and the owner (Korean lady) complained that I needed to drop off my dress shirts more often, she stated that I should wear it once and bring it by right after or else it becomes TOO hard for her to clean. She also asked me if I shower in the morning because my neck is too dirty. From that day on, I took my business to Martell’s Dry Cleaner in Artesia and have been EXTREMELY happy ever since.
She also only runs her machine for colored clothes on different days of the week, so EXPECT a lousy turn-​around time. For example, if you drop off Monday, expect to pick up late Wednesday or early Thursday. She does this to save the $$ on costs of electricity with her machines. EXTREMELY POOR turn-​around time. The tailoring is pretty good, but it is outsourced like most Dry Cleaners, and the pricing fluctuates depending on the Owner’s mood.
All in all, I feel like the Owner is a hustler and bustler trying to squeeze as much out of your pocket as quick as possible. She also faded two of my dress shirts that I purchased from express, which she blamed on me because I took too long to drop off my clothes.
She also gives you a hard time for using credit card, since she doesn’t like to pay fees, and may charge you more if you decide to go the credit card route. Extremely dishonest. Stay away my friends, stay away.

This place is pricey and prices are arbitrary. One week I was charged $ 10 for a coat, the next week it was $ 15. I stopped coming here after they charged me $ 10 for a scarf. No joke, $ 10 to dry clean what is essentially a length of fabric.
The service is alright (I’ve definitely been to worse dry cleaners) just not worth what they’re charging.

Awesome friendly service. When I pointed out a weird square stain on a dress and mentioned I had already washed it she still said they would try hard to get it out and they did! Took two other blouses on this first trip one ornate, one silk they look great and don’t smell chemical-​ly at all. Three items for $ 17.85 well worth it when they look brand new and with amazing service. Will come here again for dry cleaning and I’m going to try their alterations as well which she quoted $ 8.50-$ 10 (a little more for jeans she said). Just ignore that the shopping center looks a little run down and there’s plenty of parking!

I lived in Bellflower for a year before migrating over to Buena Park and I STILL drive back here to have all my alteration needs met. I’ve had several tops and pairs of pants taken in and sized to fit. I’ve always been happy with their service and the quality of work.
I have this one shirt with a ridiculously tricky hem that kept coming out. I brought it here and they took care of it. When I have to pick up my clothes but can’t get there until near closing time, they stay open until I get there (if I call ahead of time). Seriously, these days it’s hard to find service like that. I would trust them with my most precious articles of clothing!

Ahoy Cleaners is probably one of the better dry cleaners in the 562 area code, but my only gripe is that they are a bit pricey!
They are great if you have the money, but in this recession, as Depeche mode would say «every thing counts in large amounts!»
