This place is not a Japanese restaurant. Food wasn’t good. We ordered Katsudon, but it came with very oily stir fried vegetable(tasted very old oil) with chopped(yes. Chopped) tonkatsu pieces on very mushy rice. They also poured very sweet teriyaki type sauce over it. This is not Katsudon. I’m from Japan and I know what Katsudon is very well. We also ordered Sashimi don. Fish tasted not fresh at all. We could not finish those dishes at all… Moreover, they were very pricy. We paid 50.00 for two. If it’s good quality of food, we don’t mind paying that much, but for that much bad quality food, we are so regret that we went there.

Good food, crappy/slow/unprofessional/I don’t care service. I have been to this place numerous times and I cannot believe the number of times I have been turned down for various reasons. Some day they turn you down because«the chef is sick», yet the chef is back there happy and laughing. Some other day, they turn you down because they decided to close the kitchen an hour early. The owner is usually there and tries to be friendly. But she just doesn’t care about making a customer happy. She closes whenever she pleases and doesn’t look like she cares about retaining customers. Sushis are decent though and the only reason I give this place a 3. But I won’t go back again as I feel very disrespected. I gave this place enough chances.

The place is a Korean — Japanese mixture of a restaurant. I tried their sashimi platter along with their Mariners roll and the Hamachi kama. All items were delicious and well prepared. The place was quite empty on a Monday night although many regulars came in for their take out orders.

A very low key hidden gem restaurant in Bellevue. My friends and I came here for lunch and I enjoyed it. The staff were polite, fast, and attentive. Their turn over was fast even during lunch hour and service here is great. The food is awesome! I will be coming back for sure and I can’t wait to try all the food they offer ^_^

I had a wonderful lunch here today, the sushi combination was fresh and flavorful, buttery and delightful. Delectable fish over still warm sushi rice. On top of that I had an order of the uni which the hostess told me was locally acquired northwest sea urchin, smaller than the California uni and sweeter than the east coast uni, a rare delight.

Went here for lunch for the first time, and I had a great experience. I got the chicken yakisoba and was satisfied. Only thing I could complain about was that it was a little light on the chicken. The miso was good, as was the green tea. The service was quick and the older woman who helped me was about as sweet as it gets. I haven’t tried the sushi — it’s certainly received mixed reviews on here. I guess I’ll have to try a sushi bento and report back on that. A lot of people complaining about prices here. I don’t know what would give you the impression that this is a «teriyaki joint» that offers a $ 7.95 plate of more food than you can eat. This is clearly a Japanese restaurant, not Japanese fast food. They charge like $ 6 for nigiri, which isn’t outrageous. If you can’t afford it, go back to Blue C.

I drive from Redmond to eat here. The fish is fresh and the staff super friendly. My favorite place for sashimi.

Sushi in Joy, I love you, but why for the love of god can’t you be open on Sundays? I mean, I get it, but it breaks my heart every time I think of you on a relaxing Sunday evening and then realize you’re not even open.

It is a Teriyaki restaurant that charge as a Japanese restaurant. Is this fair? I would strongly discourage anyone come here with Japanese food in mind.

Very friendly service. Like visiting a families home. Superior sushi. I had California roll($ 8), and Combination roll($ 14). Both were fresh, and tasted wonderful. I did take out. A Coke was $ 1.95. They have a nice meeting room in back, and more traditional table seating on the side. I will be back!

Any sushi bar who plays country music is fine by me! The service was great, they were all super friendly and smiley. The sushi was all really fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend trying the monkey brains!!! Price wasn’t bad, some premium rolls were a little high. Portions and size of rolls were good. First time visit but for sure not our last!

My favorite sushi restaurant in Bellevue. There are really good qualified sashimi and sushi with it. Yakisobas and udons are also options if you’d like. For kids, I recommend crispy Ton and/or chicken katzus. I’m sure you would meet best service in east side.

Fabulous fresh and yummmmmy They treat you like part of the family, without expecting you to do the dishes. Map this one and keep it in your favorites for sure. Eat there often and never would have known about it if someone hadn’t taken me there. It’s hidden in the QFC lot on Bellevue Way, behind the Gas Station. Low overhead makes for affordable prices… I have ALWAYS had FABULOUSFOOD!

I believe this is a family owned restaurant and it has been here for a while! Also People here are really friendly. As for food, I will say the taste of sashimi is about average but how they decorate the dishes is awesome. We order a sashimi dinner, there is a Light in the plate which changes color every 5 secs I think. Very cute! Tempura here is very traditional and sea urchin with quail egg is a must-try

Our work staff sometimes goes here for meals with special guests, as they have a room we can reserve as well as tatami room options. Food is decent, if a bit spendy for what you get; because of that, while I never feel unhappy about my visits here, I never choose it when I’m the one picking. Bulgogi choices are good. The sushi is good enough, but not special. There are other places I prefer. The restaurant has always been quiet when I’ve visited — good for a conversation — if a bit dark inside. Nothing stands out about the décor. It’s in a strip mall near a gas station, so not especially nice on the outside, but at least there is free parking.

It seems there’s no middle point with salt. The first time I was here I ordered a Dragon Roll and a tako salad. The salad was a hefty size but SO salty; I couldn’t finish half before feeling nauseous. I love sesame oil and salt as a dressing but the leaves and tako slices were soaking in salt oil. The Dragon Roll was good, but it wasn’t any better than other sushi places. I came back another day and got a bento box and Niku udon. The udon was flavorless. The bento box had pretty good bulgogi but the Saba Shioyaki was so oily that it was creating a big pool in the corner of its section when I tipped the bento box. If you were to come here for bulgogi or teriyaki, I’m sure it’s not bad. Though, I don’t know if it’s worth it with the prices they are charging. I’d rather just stick with Coco Ramen & Curry Bar for delicious katsu and side salad.

Love this place. Super friendly staff! Hidden in a strip mall behind a gas station in Bellevue. Always ample parking. The sushi rolls are EXCELLENT! The miso soup is perfect. Nothing andy on the outside but always warm and inviting when you step inside. Yakasoba noodles are good too!
