Discovery Bay At Pro Sports Club

Please reconsider this drop in daycare. They have high staff turnover and cannot manage to do the simple things required in a high quality day care setting. Though the staff is friendly, they overlook diaper changes, interacting with kids, and snack times. The picture is not quite accurate of the day care room, the picture looks like a birthday party setting to me!

So the drop in is nice and it looks clean, and for that alone it gets three stars. And so long as the pro-​club has the gym, spa, food, and courts, Discovery Bay will likely be full.
But the youngest two rooms always seem to have unconsoled screaming kids and the older kids are set in front of a TV (are you kidding me???) to watch crappy psudo educational shows so the staff can do set up. And whenever you ask about staffing issues (the staff they have seem lovely – just under supported), they say that they are run by the state (the «state» doesn’t run things, they just set the guidelines for the bare minimum) and they go by that.
Most of the moms that I have spoken to figure that it is an end to a means rather than a goal. And most moms has had period of times when their kids have refused to go. I guess everything goes in cycles. Some ages are better to handle than others, I get that, but still it seems like management is out of touch.
Over all I’ll still put my kid there if I don’t have another solution, but it is disappointing that the policies they chose to adopt are so, well, minimum.
NOTE: This is in no way a criticism to the staff in the rooms. I have only seen them work hard and try to support their kids.

This place is great. My toddler loves ‘playing’ here, most days she doesn’t even notice that I’m leaving to go work out. The staff always go above and beyond; fully engaging with the kids. Awesome!
