Auto Dynamix

Today I found out that when they put torx screws into the dowel pin (Phillips head), it DESTROYED the thread of speed nuts for dowel pin. Thus so far I lost two dowel pins and each’s price at VW/​Audi dealer is $ 12 bucks. Additionally, I have to buy two new speed nuts and rent a lift again. One mistake that keeps biting me. lol.

The reviews about the awesome customer service and super friendly atmosphere are 100% true; and I loved the dog Jasmine that hangs out with you while you wait. Was totally ecstatic about the work except when I got my bill for a basic oil change… You know all that stuff they ask if you want done at Jiffy Lube, which is probably really good for your car, but costs extra? Yeah, here they don’t even ask, they just do it and tack it onto your bill. Now I can understand wanting to go the extra mile for quality work. A good mechanic will know what needs to be done to a car, and the average consumer only wants what can be done on the cheap. So I respect the work they did, I just wish they would have told me they were doing it. $ 116 for an oil change. That’s for a diesel car, so it’s probably a little higher because of that, but still… if you got the dough for it, go for it.

Khea (hopefully spelled it right) has excellent customer service skills. He is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. That being said, these guys are pros and do great work for a fair price. I have come here for several repairs and will come back again!

These guys are seriously the best. They are affordable and honest. I had a concern about an oil leak and was prepared to pay a ton of money to fix t, but they said a screw was loose, and they tightened it for me – and didn’t charge me for their time and expertise. They’re all really friendly, they don’t treat me like an idiot because I’m a woman, and they have yummy candy in the waiting room! Ha :) thy also referred me to their next door neighbor to get my seat belt fixed when I needed it done quickly and they were booked up. Great company, I don’t plan on taking my cars anywhere else!

Khea and the Auto Dynamix crew are incredibly professional, down to earth, work fast, and advise on what’s best for their customers which is a win-​win for the business and their customers. I know just enough about my cars to be dangerous, and Auto Dynamix never tried to slip something past me to gain a buck. They came highly recommended to us, and we’d pass along the same praise to any of our friends!

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! I was blown away by their service in this day and age of auto repair. Here’s my story (long one, but important to explain the situation):
My car had been leaking coolant, and I was given an estimate to replace the water pump by another service center that was close to my home. However, I had used Auto Dynamix 3 years ago for a 90K service where they had done a bunch of maintenance stuff, including replacing the water pump. So I decided to check with them if this was something they would rectify.
I called Khea at Auto Dynamix and explained the situation to him. He said they had a 15,000/1 year warranty on their work, but he was very empathetic, and even though had done the work 3 years ago he asked me to bring the car in so they could verify there was a leak. I took the car to them and on confirming the problem, he said he’d be willing to work something out with me. He commented that he was a «fair person», and offered for me to pay half of the repair costs, while he would cover the rest. I was pleasantly surprised, and it really sounded like a *very* fair quote.
So I took the car to him on Friday (Oct 16) in the morning for the repairs and he had someone drop me in downtown Bellevue where I work. He told me he’d come and pick me up when the repair was done later in the day. When I called around 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, they were still working on the car, so I waited till about 4:00 p.m. to check with them again. I got Khea on the phone, and he didn’t have good news for me. He said there was some other service light coming on, which may have been due to his technician not replacing that particular part properly, or it may be damaged. So he’d have to get a new part, and I wouldn’t be able to get my car back till Monday noon. I was a bit irritated because I had a business trip scheduled for next week, and I also would need to now take a bus to go home on Friday evening after work.
I was on the bus going home on Friday, when Khea again called me around 5:30 p.m. or so, saying they had managed to get the new part and the car repaired. So he could come and pick me up from my office. I told him I had already got on the bus, so he said if I wanted, I could come on Saturday (next day) as his partner Dave, who manages their Car Upholstery service at the same location would be there till noon. I decided to do that, as I needed to car next week. So after running a few errands on Saturday morning with my wife, we got to Auto Dynamix, and Dave saw us, waving us in.
When we entered, with a smile on his face he told us the entire service was free, because of the inconvenience they had caused me. I was deeply touched, and didn’t know what to say. Suffice to say, I was so thankful to Khea, Dave and Auto Dynamix, knowing good and wonderful people still exist in this world.

I was amazed at this place! They were the only place we could find a same day (actually no other place could get us in for a week!) appointment. Turned out we just needed the battery replaced, and I was so happy we came here; because it was probably 60% less what we would’ve paid at the Honda dealership! Very welcoming, honest employees too. We will definitely be back for any future car work!

Best auto mechanic I’ve ever had. Very honest, personable. Khea accidentally overcharged me and called right away when he noticed the error to make good on the mistake. Has always provided sound advice on what my car needs and doesn’t need to continue to be reliable at at 10 years and 116k.

«What do you have in your wallet?» should be the slogan here. After reading all of the great reviews on Unilocal,I decided to bring my new-​to-​me truck here because it wasn’t running quite right. I wanted them to diagnose the problem (they said an hour) and to swap out plugs, cap, rotor and wires…$ 300 for about $ 100 in parts (ouch!) but I figured it was there and they’d be able to give me a good diagnosis of what else may be wrong so I approved that. Then I got a call for a quote of almost $ 300 to replace a MAP sensor — it’s a $ 45 part and requires 2 screws and plugging in a hose. A 5 minute job at most. I told them no since I’d already tried that repair myself and it didn’t correct my problem. Told them to wrap it up and I’d pick it up. They ended up reducing their charge to $ 200 for the plugs and wires which was a nice gesture, but…
I ended up taking it to Kirkland Autoworks. Turned out to be the engine computer, a $ 100 part. The computer wasn’t putting out ANY diagnostic codes so I have no idea how Auto Dynamix determined (guessed) that the MAP sensor had failed. Also found out that one of the wires was improperly connected to the plug and 3 weren’t tightened properly.
I would personally not go back to Auto Dynamix. If you have a good mechanic, stick with him/​her. Many shops will overcharge because they can get away with it.

I visited this place to replace a broken passenger side mirror. They were very nice and friendly. They needed to order the mirror from manufacture, and it was ready next morning. I went there again and had it installed. They finished all the work in less an hour.
One imperfection was that the camera under the mirror needed to be adjusted before the screen could display anything for it. They failed to figure out how to do so. I went home and figured out that I needed to print out a marker, put it at a certain position, enter the diagnostic tool on the screen, then let it aim. It took several attempts before accepting the aiming and showed the picture. However, the angle was not perfectly right. I will need to readjust it some time.

Found them because of Unilocal and agree with the five star rating everyone else gives them. Both Khea and Jeff + the rest of the crew is awesome.
I have a 1983 Contemporary Shelby Cobra with a 1972 351 Cleveland in it, not something I trust anyone with.
Came in, went for a ride with them so they could feel the issue, they took a look at the car in the shop, showed me the issue, fixed it in two hours, I test drove it to double check, worked great!
Can’t say enough about these guys. While I hung out for a couple hours I kept seeing happy customers come in and out. You need anything done, classic or brand new, this is the place.

I was pleasantly impressed by quality of service and focus on customer satisfaction at start. However later I found couple of things which disappointed me :
1) After service at Auto Dynamix which included oil change and tire rotation I found that my steering wheel is skewed to right side a little bit. I didn’t pay much attention to that at start. Though car is not as stable on highway as it used to be. So I decided to check it at another service — they found that wheels are misaligned and there are few fresh marks at places where you adjust alignment.
2) My car had issue with cooling fan. Auto Dynamix advised to replace fan control unit. Price tag for parts and labor is $ 725. Ouch. Independent mechanic found that one wire was disconnected from that fan controller. He reconnected it and fan now works as expected.
I don’t wanna blame anyone but most probably will service my car at some other places/​mechanics.

I drove for oil change and brake service, they explained brake still works fine, and provided measurement, while my dealer told me to replace brake a few months back

Impressed beyond belief. Just had our 8 year old Honda Civic serviced here for regular oil change and check up. I briefly mentioned to Dave in the beginning that the AC is not working, may be they can take a look and give me a quote for later. I had checked out the AC at a Honda dealership last year. The dealership had diagnosed it with a compresser failure and estimated around $ 2,000 for repair. I kept postponing the repair to avoid spending so much money. And I am so glad I postponed!
Autodynamix fixed the AC for $ 21 !! Yes, at one-​hundredth the price quoted to me by the dealership! Beyond belief! Khea said that Dave basically took a quick look, found that a relay was malfunctioning and replaced it for $ 21. Impressed! I had shown them the paperwork from the dealership and they could easily have gone with the earlier diagnosis to charge me for the whole compresser which I would have paid for because this summer is already too hot. However, Khea and Dave showed complete integrity, expertise and even humility after making my life so much easier.

I get my car serviced here couple times a year. Oil change, brakes, etc. All the maintenance stuff. They are honest, up front, reliable and do good work. All the things you want from an auto shop. Highly recommended!

I would not classify myself as a motorhead; far from it. But I like an occasional challenge, know how to search you tube, and I’m cheap. I also work somewhat in the automotive field so it just seems like something I should do. So I will work on my own car (speaking of challenges); sometimes with success that just artificially buoys my confidence. I have had a few issues with the 1997 Ford Exploder that leave me stumped at times and I haven’t had much luck with mechanics I’ve used to try and keep it from being donated. The latest round of knuckle scraping and choice words had me stumped again. Auto Dynamix reviews looked pretty awesome. So I called Khea and made an appointment.
And that was my lucky day. The Exploder was acting a lot like a blown head gasket (sorta) and a dead heater. I appreciate that Khea ran some tests, and took a pretty conservative approach to the repair. He didn’t go straight to replacing the heater core which would have costs several hundred more $$‘s to repair. All told, he had the car for a few days; checked in with me every day; made repairs at a very reasonable cost; and the Exploder now runs the best it has in years. Much better than the dealer service I tried before and better than some other reputable shops. With Auto Dynamix, the Exploder has found its «forever mechanics». And the Acura dealer probably lost a customer as well because we’ll be taking the spouse’s TL here soon. Highly recommend! Bonus… found Sugee’s Deli near-​by. That will be another review!

I saw all the 5 star reviews and knew I had to visit Auto Dynamix to get some work done on my 10 year old Mitsubishi Endeavor.
After years of having my Mitsu serviced at a Mitsu dealer, it’s so refreshing to take it to a place that’ll do the work, do it with no problems and finish it all up without trying to up-​sell me on anything that’s not urgent.
Khea did let me know that I need some brake work done, but it was nice that he didn’t try to up sell me on all the other minor things that the dealership had been prodding me to fix for years and years. In fact, one of the main things they had been harping on, he told me was something I didn’t need to worry about at all for a while.
I brought my laptop because I needed to do some work, and they shared their wifi password with me. That was awesome.
And to make a great place even better, Jasmine, the shop dog (an adorable black lab) came and visited briefly after I sat down to work.
This is my new auto repair shop!

How rare is it to see an auto repair shop with consistently 5 stars, but it’s true! These guys are amazing. Super flexible, always available, reasonably priced, efficient, and genuinely helpful. I started going there to swap out winter tires but will start servicing my Acura there as well!
