I’ve used Rose Moving for two moves in the last 3 years. Their office staff has always been courteous & professional, and go out of their way to assist before and after the move (Thanks Heather)! After my most recent move I couldn’t locate something. A call to the office and seconds later a member of my move team (Emmet) called and told me exactly where it was!
The movers themselves have been friendly, we’ll manbered, and extremely hard working. There was absolutely no slack in the group. They also don’t pad the hours billed against. They’re great at taking things apart when necessary, and putting them back together correctly. They’re skilled movers, not just muscle, which makes a big difference in time & potential damage.
Bottom line… you get what you pay for. If you want a budget moving service, hood luck to you. If however, you value service, pride, and professionalism… if your belongings and the condition of your new home are important, then give Rose’s a call. You won’t regret it!

I have used Allied in the past, but had a terrible experience with this franchise on the recent move in June ’14. move in June.
The Driver showed up an our early and left his diesel rig idling in front of my neighbor’s house. He would not do a survey, preferred to wait in the truck, when he 1st arrived, and when he did, he said the move could not be finished in the same day, as nothing was packed. At this point, I should have stopped the process, and sent him and his crew away. He left me with over 30 boxes that were already pre– packed, because his crew did not want to load from the basement 1st.
Only after two hours of calls to the Office did I finally get them to start loading. He and his crew spent that time packing, instead of loading what I wanted loaded (furniture and pre-​packed boxes.). The packing style was clearly intended to generate boxes, I suspect the driver makes more packing than he does transporting the load. Re-​forcing this opinion is finding empty boxes packed in empty boxes, and boxes with non-​breakable items packed with two-​thirds of the space filled with packing paper.
Unlike the crew who stayed 12 hours to do the job in another review, this crew shut down loading at 4 p.m., never missed a break, including numerous cigarette and sit-​down breaks. As a result, I paid 20% over the estimate to move 66% of the intended load, and had an additional two weekends with $ 900 in added expense. Since I rented a truck and carried the boxes from the basement myself, I know that the crew could have finished the work I wanted done, in the time that had been quoted.
I should mention that they dropped out piano (I was under it in the basement and heard it when they did, but when I ran upstairs and saw it on the floor instead of the dolly, they denied dropping it. Of course it was damaged.
I know what this should have cost, I know what the loading should have required, as the household was moved only one year prior. I move a lot, this was my 9th professional move, and the worst ever.
Rose was contacted, none of this is news to them. They made a modest adjustment on the packing, but that is all. I’ll update more after they resolve the pending damage claim. Every experience is personal, and I can only relate my personal experience factually, but with the exception of the quote process, and the unloading process itself, I am dissatisfied.

I found Rose Moving through the internet after looking for a moving company that could help us move. I called them over the phone and spoke directly to their owner, Robert. He arranged for me 2 movers for 2 hours only to help us load our things to our van. The movers showed up 20 minutes early and they immediately got right down to business. What I like the most about them is their professional and friendly attitude while working with us. Moreover, they were very careful and worked efficiently.
They were very good in calling our attention when they need to pack our possessions and would need our opinion regarding it. We had them help us in disassembling our dining table and king sized bed. Even though we met a minor problem, they helped us get over it in no time. I would definitely use Rose Moving again. They gave me a great service at a reasonable price!

We used Rose Moving for a cross country move from Michigan to the east coast. First they delivered our things four days late because they said they couldn’t find a driver. When they finally showed up many of our things were damaged. They broke our big screen TV, deeply scratched our dining table, armoire, and bed, broke china, and more. They must have been very careless to cause so much damage. We’ve moved a lot and have never experienced anything like this.

About two months ago we used ROSE moving worst decision ever. We have moved multiple times and have NEVER had an experience like this. Please AVOID this moving company at all costs. Employees are incompetent, rude and careless with your belongings and home. Its frustrating to work for more then 40 years to have nice things to see people be so careless about your stuff. What they quote you as the guaranteed price is actually untrue they will do everything to overcharge you and take your money. They will break your stuff and not tell you. Your furniture will not be protected but instead thrown. If you ask there employees for anything they are NASTY. Managers will avoid your calls and emails when it comes to their own mistakes. RUN!!! Other reviews I have read have said if you don’t pay them what they say you owe them they will keep your items hostage or even steal them doesn’t surprise me if thats true

GREAT EXPERIENCE — We hired Rose Moving & Storage, an Allied affiliate, for a full service move from Ann Arbor to San Francisco in May of 2014. From beginning to end it was a great experience. This was our 3rd big, cross-​state move. We had bad experiences with Mayflower and another small moving company in Texas.
We were quoted a fair price, the quoted weight was almost exactly the actual weight, and all of our options were explained upfront. We were able to secure a 4 day delivery window upfront and confirmed the exact delivery day we wanted with the driver when our things were packed. Beverly from the office was also excellent about following up and making sure our move went smoothly.
One thing that is great about the Allied model is that the driver oversees the process from beginning to end and is with your stuff the whole way. The team that packed us was very professional and detailed. All of our furniture was carefully wrapped in moving blankets and plastic wrap. Our only issue was that the team really needed two days to pack and load instead of one. They spent 12 hours at our house packing, but got everything done without cutting corners. This was the first move that we didn’t have to file moving insurance for broken or damaged items.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with the person who came and quoted us, too. He was super rude, unhelpful, and belittling. I can’t believe your company chose him as your sales person. We were moving to Chicago from Ann Arbor and wanted a Saturday Chicago arrival not Sunday. It was important for me because we had a little baby and my husband was flying in from NYC. I told EVERYONE multiple times that I need Saturday – and turned out the driver didn’t know!!! We got stuck with Sunday.
I called the representative to see if there is a way to work around it. He was super rude, and said, «wait wait, you are asking for MY help, and THIS IS NOT HOW YOU ASK FOR HELP!» He was basically yelling at me.
The driver was super nice and professional though. He told me if he would have known, he could totally made the Saturday arrival. So, 5 stars for the driver, 1 star for the representative.
The move happened 1.5 years ago, and this experience still scares me every time I think of it.

The whole «pack and load» aspect went smoothly. Jim Stafford was great at estimating, courteous and quick. The crew of 4 arrived on time and were very pleasant. Foreman Mark communicated well, was professional and kept a fast pace. I was amazed at their speed. Each item was wrapped well and they would always ask if they had specific item questions. Mark even let my 3 year old pretend to drive the «big truck», which he loved. This move out was quick and I would highly recommend this team.

Tried to get them to come and give me a quote. Had them scheduled to come out and the day before called and was telling me how expressive it was going to be and asked was much relocation assistance I was getting. Then he asked if I knew how much everything weighed approximately. NO THAT’S WHY YOU COME OUT AND QUOTE IT. I want on to tell him that I only have a few boxes in each room. No appliances and only one coach, one twin bed, and one full bed. So he tell me that it well be around $ 3000-​$ 4000 with me doing the box packing. He said it should be on the lower end.
I asked if they also ship car and he said yes but it’s expensive, I said I had it shipped from north Carolina to Michigan and it was $ 550. He ask if we could get the same people to move it again. REALLY, I Called YOU. YOUR A MOVING COMPANY!
After all that he said «So I can cross you off the schedule for tomorrow right». The week before I was moving.
I Went with PODS worked out great. 1⁄3 the price with no problems.
