VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa

Never will I join and the way in which we were treated, I would say beware. We were basically told to leave because we did not spend enough at the spa. This policy changed from last year but yet nobody told us! We were told they would escort us out of the club after my daughter and her boyfriend finished their services. I was excited to take my husband there after coming back from deployment. We did the spa day which last year gave us pool privileges, this was my husbands first experience theor since coming back from Kuwait and before all this happened he said this is nice we should join. After being kicked out, WE definaltely will not be joining. They told me they also changed their policy on guest passes and the manager told me they’ve actually turned little kids away crying when they couldn’t join their friends swimming.. That’s great!!! I wouldn’t join their pretensious club if they paid me.

Villa is brand new and has nice facilities, but that’s about the only good thing. Café food is slow and overpriced for what it is, the pool is ridiculously crowded in the summer, and I’ve heard from several employees that VillaKids is dirty and disorganized. As someone who has been a member of the MAC for 10 years, nothing can compare to villa. There’s no real prestige — they try to force a good reputation. Villa’s customer service is average at best. You can tell that they are a chain, which I don’t personally like. I’d much rather pay for an independent club.

If they fired the woman at billing, who’s a total bitch and refuses to fix her own mistakes, they’d be better off. Also, they refuse to suspend membership for surgical procedures wtc unless you suspect for 8 weeks. What if hi unwed PT sooner? They don’t care. They only care about new membership, but existing members are treated like shit. I’ve been a member here for five years when I decided to leave to lifetime next month because lifetime will work around my surgery.

This gym really needs to revisit its guest pass policy.
For the amount of money you pay in your membership dues, you would expect to get a few guest passes annually. People having friends/​family in town is a common occurrence and one a good gym should really think about. Not the case with VillaSport. A flat $ 30 fee for guests. What a slap in the face to all good paying loyal customers.
Equinox gyms gives their members 10 guest passes annually. It’s a good thing to do to keep their customers happy. Villa Sport should get with the program and not be so rigid with this policy.

Yes it’s spendy, but it’s the only place I’ve been able to work out in on a semi regular basis. Exercising is not my thing, but this facility makes you WANT to exercise. I’m able to drop off the kids in their childcare because unlike the Y where I was previously a member, there’s always room and it’s fun so the kids are always glad to go.
In the summer (and much of spring) we spend our afternoons soaking up the sun at their awesome outdoor pool (which doesn’t feel gross like most public pools). During the rainy months we swim inside and use their sauna. Either way this place makes us feel like a million bucks, which is close to what we pay, but it’s worth it!

I had to had cancel my membership. I went into the gym on the 17^th of February and asked the person at the desk to see a billing staff. She told me that she could help me and I told her I needed to cancel. She had me fill out a paper and told me that since my bill was just charged on the 15^th on February, she said I could use the gym for the rest of the month. I made sure it was not going to be billed again and she said no. On March 2, I was billed again for 204.00 and when I called up to ask why it was billed again, I got someone in billing and they fed me a line of shit about how I needed to pay for another month. Total bullshit. I asked her to help me and she said there was nothing she could do. I called my bank for a charge-​back and took care of it this way. What a bunch of jerks. Terrible customer service.

Down a star, from a year ago. Reason: too many members. Villa should consider lowering the membership cap. It is ridiculously busy during peak hours and quite crowded non-​peak.
Also, consider freeing up the gym during peak hours weekdays for families/​open gym and moving the men’s basketball league games to later in the evening.
Overall, still a very well run facility with friendly staff. Highly recommend.

The crew at Villasport makes it the best gym around. It has a friendly, community feel. The number to group exercise classes and the programs they offer here blows my mind. The equipment is incredibly well kept and so clean. The Villakids staff is so pleasant and my kids request to go. I love my lattes at the Villacafe. A great place for people looking to connect, get fit and relax!

Such a beautiful club! Staff and even other members are so friendly. My girlfriend and I stopped one of the trainers, Jonathan, to ask a few questions and he went above and beyond in providing us with fitness information. He was off to somewhere when we nabbed him but he didn’t make us feel rushed when answering questions and even told us to feel free to ask more when we see him next. While the club was fantastic, the interaction we had with him stood out the most to us. Better keep this one around, VillaSport!

I love the outdoor pool at Villa Sport and joined this gym at the height of summer with fantasies of spending my days off from work lounging poolside. During the winter months I am much less excited about the cost of this gym and its location (sorry I break out into hives in the burbs and partly decided to join secondary to its proximity to my work), but I digress. Here’s what I’m paying for (roughly $ 110 a month and close to $ 180/​month for two).
1) The gym: super nice clean equipment. All top of the line. TVs everywhere. I have to say the nicest gym I have worked out in and I’ve been to a ton.
2) Classes: Haven’t taken any classes so can’t comment on that.
3) Kiddo offerings: Don’t partake in Villa kids but it seems to have a ton of kid friendly options
4) Pool and spa: I love love the outdoor pool and various Jacuzzis. The adult pool is super clean (the kiddo pool questionable) and quiet with great lanes for lap swimming. There’s a bar (smoothies and boozy drinks alike).
5) Villaspa– I’ve only had a pedicure here. It was terrible. Don’t plan to return for anything else
6) Ladies’ locker room– very clean, lots of towels, nice indoor spa/​eucalyptus steam room/​dry sauna– all fantastic. I feel like I’m in a spa
A few minor things that are missing:
1)I wish they would get rid of the basketball court and have racquetball or indoor tennis (wishful thinking).
2) The food offerings don’t look remotely tasty.
3) The wifi connection is awful. I have AT and T and can’t send a text and lose my Spotify music often while working out.
Minor details, but the gym is far from cheap. I’m still on the fence about whether I’m going to keep this membership (burbs+pricey= no bueno for me).

I visited this gym/​spa for a «spa» day with my sister. I got a mani/​pedi that ended up costing me $ 140!!! Are you kidding me??? Not only was this a sub-​par mani/​pedi, it was extremely expensive! Be warned there are two different prices for spa services, member and non-​member prices. I wasn’t impressed and would recommend to get your services done elsewhere.

Best facilities in Beaverton. I went to try out the spin class. Herb is a fabulous instructor! I love the ladies locker rooms. Very Clean rooms, private showers, hair dryers, flat iron, curling iron, and other amenities are provided. I love all the exercise equipment options.

Where do I begin. VillaSport is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I’ll try not to make this long, but I want people to be aware of what kind of scam they run on their members. I began membership a year ago and added 5 other family members. I went from 24 hour fitness to Villa because of the upgraded experience, atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff.
Boy was I wrong…
Sadly, I lost my job, had to move back to Colorado, and my card got declined from Villa. A member account representative by the name of Samantha contacted me about it and was one of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken too. I explained my situation to her, asked if there is any way she can make an exception to waive the fees and she pretty much just said no and told me to contact a director at the Villa. I promptly visited the Villa in Colorado Springs by the cancellation date, Oct 15^th, and was told by the CO Villa staff that I must cancel with the Beaverton location where I started my membership. I called the Beaverton location that day, and the front desk said they would relay the message to the staff that handles the cancellations. Keep in mind, I’m calling on the 15^th, which is when you need to cancel in order for it be be effective that month. I stressed that I need to cancel that day. Then two days later, Cody, emails me the cancellation form. I filled it out, emailed it back to Cody immediately after receiving it, and then I don’t get any type of response from him. I sent out another email on Oct 21^st to Cody to follow up due to his lack of response after I sent the cancellation to him, and then he replies that he received it, but that my cancellation doesn’t take effect until next month (Nov) which means I am getting charged another month of dues. Now I’m getting upset because I did what I was supposed to do on my end in order to cancel by Oct 15^th. Not too sure why my message was not given to the staff that handles cancellations immediately, especially when I told the front desk that I needed to cancel that day. This is a clear mistake on their end, yet they are still trying to squeeze out another month of dues out of me. Had they provided the form to me that day when I requested, then I wouldn’t be in this mess. I asked Cody what he can do about the additional dues they were going to charge since this was due to no fault of my own. He gives me the email of the Director of the club, Jeff, regarding the waiver of the dues. I email Jeff, no response for 5 days. This seems to be a consistent theme amongst everyone working there… Then I send another email and Jeff finally replied, and let me say, he is ALSO one of the rudest, unprofessional, and unsympathetic persons I have ever dealt with.
You would think that going to a club like Villa, and paying a higher premium than those other gyms, that you would be treated with a little bit of respect. But no, Jeff was the exact opposite. He really didn’t care to hear my situation. I’m not sure why EVERYONE at Villa is EXTREMELY rude, but I have yet to encounter someone there that will actually listen to me without turning my request down. So long story short, they won’t acknowledge the fact that they messed up on not canceling me on Oct 15^th like I had asked. They are making me pay that extra month. In reading other Unilocal reviews, it seems that this has happened before to others. I would expect this type of behavior from a other, sub-​par gyms, but I’d have to say Villa leads the pack on the most unprofessional, rude, and irresponsible companies.
Please beware when you decide to sign up for a membership with them because once they have you as a member they don’t really care for you.

I’m so surprised to see ANY less than 5 star reviews for this club! My husband and I absolutely love Villa Sport. We had driven by it many times while it was under construction and we assumed it was way out of our price range. We finally bit the bullet and went on a club tour, and we were sold immediately. At LA Fitness, I was paying nearly $ 70 a month for access to the Kids Club and Raquetball reservations. At VillaSport I pay barely more than that, but I get SO MANY MORE amenities than I ever did at LA Fitness. Here are just a few things I love about VillaSport:
1) Villa Kids! My son is 14 months old and it makes working out together incredibly convenient for my husband and I! Villa Kids has TV screens and cameras so you can see what your child is up to while they are in the childcare area. They have great hours, open both weekend days almost all day, plus they have sports and activities for the older kids. They even have a basketball court dedicated solely to the kids (that’s in addition to a huge court for adults!) you get 2 hours a day of childcare included in your membership. That’s enough time for hubby and I to work out and utilize the spa or pool while our son is in good hands. Not to mention they do date nights twice a month (there is an additional cost) but I really appreciate that they do this since our daycare recently stopped doing date nights.
2) Speaking of the spa, there is a spa onsite, which I haven’t tried yet, but it looks beautiful and the prices are reasonable. (They do mini Holisitic facials for $ 30 or so.) In addition to the spa, they have a lounge in both the men’s and women’s locker rooms, which includes a steam room, sauna, lounge chairs, nice dim lighting, and a hot tub big enough to enjoy some relaxation either before or after a workout. The lounge is never over crowded. My husband said the men’s lounge has a TV and usually plays sports. The women’s lounge has art on the wall, and offers free tea and other beverages in a self serve station. (Definitely a moms paradise!!)
3) The cardio equipment is BRAND new — you can watch news, sports, or other channels on your treadmill and on other equipment as well. I haven’t tried it, but it appears you can plug in your phone and watch shows or movies you already have downloaded to your phone. It makes my workout go by SO FAST when I can just focus on watching something I enjoy! I love that feature and I feel like this alone is worth the price of membership. Anything that makes it easier/​helps me look forward to exercise is worth it in my book!
Those are my favorite aspects of the gym, but I also love the little things, like towels always being available, fully stocked shampoo, conditioner and body wash in all the showers, private bathroom stalls, blow driers, straighteners and curling irons available in the women’s locker rooms, a family locker room and changing rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs AND a poolside bar, easy to use lockers with personalized codes, an indoor café (stocked with healthy snacks), an adult only library/​study area, and more that I can’t even remember at the moment because they have that many amenities!
One thing I’ve noticed too is that there is always someone in the locker rooms cleaning them or restocking towels or other supplies. It really feels like from the moment you walk in that the staff and management care about your experience and aren’t just there to make money, unlike almost every single other gym I’ve ever been to.
So, if you’re willing to skip your morning latte a few times a week and put your money towards a gym membership instead, I highly, highly recommend Villa Sport (yes, you can become a member for less than the cost of a daily latte.) My husband and I live in Hillsboro but we don’t mind a 15 – 20 minute drive to the gym. Before, we dreaded even driving 10 minutes to LA Fitness!

My family has been members since last October and we have nothing but great things to say. Beautiful facilities, courteous staff, great class instructors. It isn’t cheap, but with 2 young kids and an awesome kid’s club, it gives us a chance to work out while our kids actually have fun!
The only annoying thing has been how crowded the pool gets on a hot sunny day. I do manage to forget how annoyed I am as soon as I order a drink and take a swim with the kiddos!

We joined at the beginning of the summer, primarily to have a healthy activity for our children’s school break. We have used the outdoor pool frequently, and we are impressed with the staff and cleanliness.
In addition, my husband and I have both used the exercise/​weight room more than we originally thought we would. Again, the staff is helpful and friendly. Machines are well maintained and clean.
Finally, the locker rooms… as others have mentioned they are clean, stocked and always attended by great staff. The ladies relaxation room is one of my favorite perks.

I have changed my review rating from 1 star to 4 based off how Villa Sport handled my review. I was contacted by Carissa who asked me to call and talk with her about my experience. I actually got a chance to sit down with her and have a very nice conversation. Not only did she apologize and explain the reason for my unfortunate dinning experience (I had received the manufactures replacement for their usual pizza crust and chicken nuggets due to a stocking issue) but she also thanked me for bringing it to their attention and asked what suggestions I had going forward. She listened to what I had to say and promised me that it wouldn’t happen again.
In all i cannot change my original rating as I have not purchased the kids meals again yet but I was very impressed by how seriously they are about making their members happy and how quickly it was brought up.

I am a proud member of this wonderful athletic club! This is bar none the best athletic club in Oregon. Where should I began. This is truly a work of art. State of the art locker rooms! World class pools inside and out. Top tier trainers. They even have a 2 hour a day child care for the kids. Full court basketball gym. World class massages and facials! Excellent management and staff. Full dining area. Membership per month is a little over 100.00. It is worth every penny! This athletic club hours are Monday through Friday 5am to 10pm Saturday and Sunday 7am to 9pm. I highly recommend this wonderful athletic club!

The pool is absolutely fantastic!!! 5 stars. Like a pool where you would go on vacation. 2 large water slides but you have to be 48 inches tall. Shallow indoor and outdoor toddler play area. Also a large separate adult only outdoor pool with bar. It does border a large main road so you can hear cars going by… kind of ruins the «vacation» feel a little bit but cars are somewhat obscured by the strategically planted tall bushes.
As all things in life, you can’t have everything. The gym is only a single court. Nice and new but very small compared to Clubsport which I am used to. The weight area is nice and large with plenty of equipment but doesn’t have the indoor turf area like Clubsport.
The locker rooms are quite nice. New and updated. The family lockers rooms have TVs, sitting areas and private and group showers. The men’s locker room has separate sauna area with dry and wet steam sauna.
I didn’t try the restaurant/​café but the poolside café wasn’t very good. The burger was terrible…
If only it was closer I would definitely join.

Bottom line up front: Shut up and take my money.
I live very close to Villa. I watched it get built, I’ve had a general sense that it was «high-​end», and I’ve been confident for about a year that there’s no way I could justify whatever it costs — which I was positive would be a small fortune. After all, I’ve recently been a member of a gym that only cost $ 15/​month and I didn’t even drag myself there often enough to justify that expense.
I always wanted a tour, though, and I had an hour to kill a while back so I decided to check it out. It should be obvious by now that I was impressed and excited enough to jump in, and I’d like to touch on all of the reasons why I’m so glad that I did, in no particular order, just as soon as this sentence is done.
1) The Staff are wonderful, professional, cheerful, and helpful. I’ve enjoyed every interaction that I’ve had with them and believe that they really give a damn about doing a good job and making sure that the customer experience is positive.
2) The Equipment and its Availability: after using a wide range of cardio machines, free weights, muscle isolation machines, ropes, bands, etc., I’m pleased to report that everything feels top-​notch, like new, and well maintained. I have never had to wait for cardio equipment.
3) Water Facilities: Wow, the variety! Adult only areas, family areas, indoor/​outdoor, dedicated lap swimming, play areas, etc. I wish there were a deep section with a diving board, but that’s minor. The hot tubs are hot and the jets are strong. Water temp is great, and the water is crystal clear.
4) The Swim Team: This won’t apply for most, but it’s been huge for me. Maisie, the swim coach, is FANTASTIC. She’s super positive and encouraging, very attentive, and very friendly. My daughter has been with another team for the last year and after the first practice here she said «wow, I’m not used to getting positive feedback!» They are not yet sanctioned by USA Swimming, but expect to be soon and we’re hoping that they’ll be able to compete in official meets starting in the fall.
5) The Fitness Training Staff. When you sign up, you get four 30-​minute training sessions for free. When I joined, there was a special going that allowed me to sign up for some 1-​hour training sessions instead of paying the normal enrollment fee (it actually waived the rather hefty enrollment for the whole family). Doing so saved me money, so I found myself in a position to start off getting back into shape with the help of someone who knows what they are talking about. I’ve been training with Bryan P. and can’t say enough good things about this guy. He really knows his stuff, is happy to explain the physiology behind the exercises, gives great feedback, and helps me plan out what I should do between sessions. I’ve had incredible results since joining and I owe a lot of my success to his guidance.
6) VillaKids. Just for being a member, you can use up to 2 hours of this great child care program every day for no additional cost. But it’s not just a safe place to drop your kid off, they actually make it FUN. My daughter was convinced that she would hate it (she gets that attitude from her mother!), but after her first time she jumped up and down and said «THAT WAS AWESOME!» She made friends and had a blast. What a great system.
7) Steam Room. Seriously, where has this been all my life? I don’t suffer from any grand delusion that sweating away in steam is detoxifying or otherwise particularly healthy — it just feels great. Drink plenty of water and don’t plan on lasting any more than about 10 minutes.
Let’s shift gears and discuss the membership fee. It’s NOT cheap, but this is one of those cases where you really get what you pay for. Monthly pricing is very straightforward: $ 108 for the first adult, $ 65 more for the second, and $ 25 per child. 2 Adults max per family, so you can’t game the system and have your family of 10 adults squeeze in at $ 65 rate. You know you were thinking about it… sorry to break it to you.
Enrollment is also pretty steep — it’s roughly double the monthly fee, but this is where you want to keep an eye out for specials. The monthly rate won’t change, but they do things like half off enrollment or the deal that I used to waive the enrollment if I sign up for personal training sessions.
Minor gripe: outdoor food stand service was extremely slow on a few occasions (45 minutes to get a burger). I think they’re still working out the kinks to start the season and expect that this will improve quickly.
I never thought I’d be willing to pay this much for a fitness club, but I also never realized I could enjoy it as much as I am. I’ve been in at least once every day since joining (sometimes I’ll pop in a second time to sit in the hot tub) and I expect this pattern to continue for a very long time. It’s worth every dollar and I’m so glad I gave it a shot.
Whoever the check-​in Duke is right now, stay on your toes… I’m catching up fast.
