24 Hour Fitness

I have been a 24 Hr. member since 2014. The staff are always friendly and the size of building is great and they have lots of classes with an easy online schedule. I will say their treadmill’s need some upgrades and I wish they would maintain the women’s showers better. Those showers get nasty.
Also I would love more noon and 4 – 4:30pm classes like zumba, yoga, cycle. for us that work close and want to catch a class.
I would love to read more reviews about the trainers. If anyone has personal experience with a trainer from this location send me a message.
P.S for those that park on the street of Waterhouse rather than using the designated parking lot. You block the views from the drive way. If you’re going to the gym anyway, then why can’t you walk the 20 — 30 ft to the door like everyone else that parks in an actual parking spot?!

I was just reading all of the reviews and don’t necessarily agree with the negative ones. Compared to other gyms, even other 24 hr fitness gyms, this one is the cleanest with the best equipment. Plus, they provide clean towels: P
Yes, some of the staff members are jerks, while others are wonderful. Yes, if you go when it’s busy you might have to wait. Yes, it’s annoying when you are waiting and the person isn’t even working out. Yes, sometimes machines break or need to get fixed, but it never takes too long. Yes, this gym is NOT perfect; however, in the years I’ve been going, I’ve been completely satisfied :)

Put new nets on the basketball hoops!
Both the main hoops need new nets. Fix it and I’ll take down this negative review!!!
Other than that, great gym

Several complaints that have accumulated over the years.
1. When they opened this facility, they had recently purchased Bally’s and closed their local facility. To compensate those members losing their bally’s gym in the area, we were allowed to roll our membership over to this single super sport location. with towels, lockers, pool, hot tub and everything else, the new facility was fantastic.
2. My big problem with this facility is the temperature. good god, it is way to warm in there. it’s too warm in the summer because the AC is set way too high. It’s winter now, 45 deg outside, and I recently wore my gps sports watch while going through a workout. I saw temperatures approaching 75 degrees in the upper aerobic equipment areas and almost 80 on the floor. This is unhealthy. I have complained several times. Some people just cannot use a stationary treadmill or bike without the temperatures being a bit cooler and some reasonable circulation. The fans are seriously undersized and do nothing. 24 hour manager… If you can’t circulate fresh outside air, turn the heat off and run the AC, at least upstairs, where heat rises to, and where you have all the aerobic machines.
2. Maintenance: the facility does not quickly fix up their equipment. when something breaks, it can sit there for days or weeks. this is particularly true in the upstairs area with treadmills and bikes. Also, when it rains, i often see a bucket or two out due to roof leaks.
3. trainers: WTF 24hr people? i’m here too. i’ve had several instances where i am outright run off a set of machines by a trainer with a time limit, a clipboard and a set of check boxes to get through. Rude.
if not for the temperature, i could overlook the other stuff. but it’s one thing too many and makes the facility uncomfortable for me and unusable for my wife.
BTW — your customers have always been polite and do their best to take care of the equipment by putting stuff away, cleaning up sweat with the spray bottles, putting towels in the bins etc. you should show the same level of respect, or they will stop coming.

I have been to several 24hr Fitness locations from San Diego to Portland. I must say this is by far the cleanest, nicest and well equipped location I have been too. I can’t speak on the classes or even the cardio equipment (I know I know, I should do more cardio but I walked like 20miles while I was intown.)
I give it up to the entire staff, trainers and management. While I was there I noticed management constantly picking up towels and re-​racking weights (not mine, I rerack and wiped down my equipment). Never did I walk up to a machine, bench or squat rack and notice anything out of place or broken.
This gym like most is filled with «trainers» however with that being said I can personally say they had the most knowledgeable trainers I have seen at a 24hr fitness. I know being such a large company sometimes the word «trainer» get used in the loosest form possible. These trainers were in full swing every time I stepped in the gym. As the famous meme goes, my personal trainer needs a personal trainer… definitely does not apply here. These trainers actually looked, walked and talked like they knew how to get you to reach your personal goal. Too all the personal trainers here I give you a big kudos for the way you represent the industry and 24hr fitness.
When the time comes for me to move to Portland I will likely become a local resident of this 24hr even if I don’t live or work close by. I look forward to visiting my friends now even more just so I can come back here. (Insert thumbs up emoji here)

I’m new to the area and wanted to sign up; my boyfriend up already had membership with this club. Well, we tried negotiating for a deal and 24 hrs fitness failed miserably to keep both of our interests! My b/​f uses free weights and I use kettlebells which selection should be much better for $ 35 a month per person! Neither one of us uses classes or is interested in pool. Boom fitness offered us a great contract-​free deal and we’ll be signing up there (same free weights and same Kettlebell selection). Shame on 24hr fitness, I thought better of this club.

I’ve been to several gyms over the pas 40 years. from Jack LaLaine studios way back when to Nautulus, Golds, Bally and more recently L.A. Fitness and now 24 Hour Fitness.
You might say I’m fairly experienced with how gyms work, when they work well.
Thru my Medicare insurance I have a free membership to 24 hour fitness (a nice perk) and discovered that the Waterhouse facility has a large number of senior fitness programs-​another nice perk.
Under my knew surgeons instructions, I signed up for this club and attended the Senior Aqua Aerobics class first thing. I could only do 40 minutes, but didn’t feel like I was opting out when I climbed out of the pool to soak in the hot tub for a few minutes. It was good exercise and I really enjoyed the hot tub and steam room afterwards.
Under doctors recommendations I also used the recumbent bike for 15 minutes… I’m just starting to try and get my knee back into good shape.
The nice guy who showed me around. Eddie I think, was very knowledgeable about how I should work out and cautioned me not to hit it too hard, which, of course I did. I know better! So I ached for days afterwards.
This gym is close enough for me to, hopefully, walk to once I get my knee back into good physical shape. I think it’s in the same building, or next to where the Nautulus gym was located when this huge business campus first opened. It’s very much larger with a lot more machines. Basic weights and many resistance machines, as well as a whole second floor of bikes, treadmills and elepticals.
As soon as the Physical Therapist turns me loose to work out lojngert, I’m looking forward to it!
Comfortable, with plenty of parking, free towels and even a few lockers with built in locks if you forget your lock, as I did. I appreciate the amenities.

Was looking for a gym in the area so signed up for a guest pass on their website. Came in yesterday (Saturday) to check it out and the dude told me that he couldn’t activate it but if I came back any time tomorrow (Sunday) I’d be good to go. Well, just came in a second time and was told, again, that I’d have to come back again tomorrow (Monday).
With all this running back and forth between home and the gym I don’t think I’ll even need a membership, lol.
That said, the facility looked pretty awesome from behind the check-​in counter. Seemed clean and well stocked… course I can’t say for sure, cause they didn’t even offer a tour or anything. Oh well. Maybe gyms aren’t as sales driven as they used to be? Idk.
Doubt I’ll be coming back a third time, though. Not worth the hassle. I’ll look for a different place that doesn’t waste my time before I’m even a member. If 24 wants folks to come in at specific times and/​or to meet with specific people, they should put it on the damn form they email you to begin with. I wouldn’t have had a problem with that had they just made it clear from the get go.

You may have preconceived notions about big gyms like 24 hour fitness and honestly, I did too, until I joined this particular 24 hour fitness. Whether you are just wanting to come in once a week and watch tv while you walk on a treadmill or are interested in changing the size and shape of your body this gym is the place for you. The staff are always friendly and genuinely offer a sincere welcome when you come in the front door. The gym is always clean and I am very particular especially when it comes to the shower facilities. The equipment is of the highest quality and rarely have I seen any piece out of order or showing wear and tear. Sure, you could spend less but remember, you really do get what you pay for, especially when it comes to a gym membership. Stop in, take a tour, ask about a one day pass and then see all that awaits you.

When this gym was first opened, it was amazing. Definitely better compared to where/​what it use to be on the other side of the corner… but if you’re going to charge your membership fees that high for the «super» sport feel, then you better maintain it!!!
I like to run on the treadmills and work out on the ellipticals with T.V. unfortunately, my favorite machines happened to be everyone’s and it’s worn out and half of them don’t work!
I get that machines are not easy to replace and are expensive so I’ll let that slide. One of the reasons that made me feel like they need to check up on this gym is because of their «training sessions» they have going on. It’s really frustrating when I go to the gym to work out and can’t even do my full work out routine because a lot of the times it is being blocked off for the trainers. Like is that necessary? ! I’m trying to use the area and you have it blocked off for one damn person ?! Hellooo, everyone else is here to work out too!
Customer service wise, they seem nice. But I don’t go to the gym for them and I’m sure everyone goes for the equipment that is sadly worn out.

I would like to relate my poor customer service experience at this location. Previously I went to a free Zumba night and put down my information for a call back. Someone did give me a call back and invited me to come to the gym for a three day pass. I made special arrangements to come on a Tuesday morning just to take a Zumba class and when I get there Eric asks me if I have ever previously visited the gym. When I say yes he informs me that I must sign up or pay $ 25 for the day. I explained to him that someone invited me to come and his response was «Sorry have a nice day.» I understand having a policy and adhering to the policy but if one of my employees makes a mistake, such as inviting someone who is not eligible for a pass to come in, they know that their job is to make that customer happy and deviating from policy is an acceptable way to fix the problem. Disappointed in 24 Hour fitness.

Nice big gym. Has almost everything I want in gym. Pool, spa, wet and dry sauna, cardio, free weights, Machine weights, and a friendly knowledgeable staff. I would give it 5 stars but it’s on the high end price wise. But I guess you get what you pay for. The do have a military discount. It knocks 5 dollars off a monthly dues and no enrollment so that’s a pretty sweet deal. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have joined.

Parking: Ample, well-​lit parking lot as well as street parking.
Very good «Super Sport» club. The weight room is very well kept and spacious. It doesn’t get as crowded as a «Sport» club, even at the busiest time of day. Hoops, Racquetball, Cardio, Sauna, Steam room, Pool, Jacuzzi, Spin room, Kids club, various classes, and FREE TOWEL SERVICE! The front desk staff members are very friendly. The personal trainers look like they know what they are doing. General equipment repairs are dealt with fairly quickly.
I usually go in the early morning hours (around 5am), and the janitorial staff is there keeping things nice and clean every morning. I hoop often and love the fact that they have a janitor sweeping the hardwood daily.
–1 STAR because I’ve recently been to a «Super Sport» club in southern California that had more up to date equipment and an outdoor area with turf and other kinds of workout equipment.

If you are looking for consistency, this gym is not for you. Management changes classes on a whim with no input from members. One diva instructor seems to control policy and changes classes to her liking or doesn’t bother to show up. I’d look elsewhere.

Great place, nice equipment, pretty good environment, courteous staff and very convenient for people who enjoy working out late at night. It is expensive compared to any other gym in the area (double) but if it sounds reasonable for you, I would definitely recommend it.

Kyong’s Saturday morning Turbo class will kick your ass!!! Best cardio workout at 24 hour fitness.

Very fair rate for a very new and well run gym.
Towel service is great here, thankfully, unlike the 24 hour Pearl. Friendly staff.
My gripe: only two squat racks for the whole gym. What gives?

Love the variety of work out options and that it is 24 hours! I use only the Waterhouse SuperSport Center, so my review is just for this location — My work outs have changed since I joined here. Where I used to prefer classes, I now run and there are plenty of treadmills — most of the time not hard to find an open one (although you are hoping it’s not one of the broken ones that seem to always be there).
I know several people who are using private trainers and their results have been great, and if the money becomes an option for me to do this — I definitely will as well. They have a large variety of weights, and if you can get people to stop staring at the TVS, texting or visiting with their friends while just sitting on the equipment, you can hit all your muscle goals.
The class selection seems to work for most people, although I like a good step class personally so I just don’t take their classes anymore. They offs alot of the cardio martial arts type classes, cycling and several other styles including a yoga class that I do like if I can get to it.
The women’s locker room is always clean and nice, the outer lockers are usually available out front and I like the easy check in without needing a card process. They have a child’s daycare area while you work out that seems to be well– utilized.
What I miss about the Bally’s I used to go to was that they had a women’s section that was private and equipment that was more fitting the body size of a shorter woman (which I am), but this place has racquetball, spa an pool (which I haven’t used yet).
It’s a spendy gym somewhat (we pay $ 40/​month each for both of us), but so many people we know go there and a group of us meet up and can get all of our work outs done together.
Parking is ok some of the time — but if a class is going on or after work, it’s dangerous!

Being Super Sport facility has some benefits. They give you free towels for your workouts. So far, that’s the only perk I have taken advantage at this 24 facility. It’s a big building but at the same time draws a lot of people. Around 4 – 7, this place is packed… However, I have not yet to wait for others to use an equipment except for free weights.
Plenty of treadmills, eclipticals, and stationary bikes, ok basketball court, nice shower, this 24 isn’t a bad place.

I used to go to the Halsey Super Sport, and loved it.
When I moved out this way I started going to this location. What a change. While Halsey was crowded at times, it was never on the level of this one. Quite honestly this location is not big enough.
The trainers also block off the area with TRX, Kettlebells, etc. They do some classes in their, but they clearly lack the room for this sort of thing, and deprive other paying members from accessing this equipment. That is not an acceptable practice in my book.
The front desk staff was very unfriendly as well, everyone just seemed to be standing around trying to act cool.
Membership cancelled. I can get a lot more for a lot less across the street from where I live.
