About four years ago we bought all of our kitchen appliances from salesman Tony and we love the whole package that we chose. So last week we needed to buy a new washing machine and, of course, we bought it from Tony! He is knowledgeable, listened to our needs and helped us narrow down our options.
The delivery team was great as well. Brian (?) gave us a demo and answered some questions that I had.
In the past we had a couple of service calls from STV&A and the service man was also very good. We are most pleased with the sales, delivery and service from Standard TV & Appliance.

Another excellent encounter with Joe M. at Standard TV and Appliance, this time for a new Beautyrest mattress. Great pricing, super knowledgeable sales person, a pleasure to do business with.

I would give this company less than one star if I could. I have dealt with the worst customer service from their service and repair department that I have ever experienced! The soonest they could get in to look at my broken washer was two full weeks and I purchased a 5-​year warranty! Also, I called and left 3 voicemails and no one ever returned my calls. Now they are saying that it could take another full week to get back in to do the repair because they have to order a part. I will never buy another thing from this store. I strongly advise that you find another place to shop.

From start to finish, my experience at Standard TV & Appliance has always been five-​star excellent. When Kris Riggin moved, she handed me off to Eugene Dewar, my new account rep. Eugene is completely knowledgeable and makes helpful recommendations without being pushy. He knows his products well. He also knows how to listen to questions and answer them thoughtfully, not «sales-​eee».
Caroline, who completed the paperwork for the transaction and collected payment, is 100% competent and professional. She knows this business like the back of her hand. She’s smooth and calm and able to multi-​task without being stressed. As a customer, I was completely at ease because it showed that she knows what she’s doing. She was able to answer the company phone in one ring, paged a sales associate, and I never once felt neglected even though she was multi-​tasking. She does it like a pro.
I highly recommend Standard TV and Appliance.

A special thanks to Eugene from the Beaverton store many years ago for communicating with us the cost analysis benefits of a extended warranty. Today Serafin from Standards repair dept came out and repaired our dishwasher. This service call would of cost us almost half the price of our $ 900.00 dishwasher. Sefafin gave us a window early this morning when he was to be here and arrived early! He was very professional and in my opinion an expert and was prepared with all parts. With employees like these two outstanding individuals its no wonder that they. set the standard.

The purchase process was ok, Standard’s prices were higher than Costco and Home Depot but they matched the price and extended warranty in the end.
We purchased Washer/​Dryer, Range, Refrigerator and Dishwasher. The total was just under $ 6000 dollars (we didn’t pick the cheapest models). Within three months of delivery there have been major issues with the Maytag refrigerator (msc21c6mdm) and Whirlpool washing machine (wtw7300dw).
However the big issue has been the poor service from Standard on getting these issues fixed. The refrigerator is up to its 4^th repair vist to fix a leaking door seal and the washing machine took two visits to fix and while fixing it they damaged the finish and now the controls only feel about half attached and make noise during the cycle. And they disconnected the dryer vent and didn’t reattach it.
The BIGGEST issue has been Standards customer service. We’ve left countless messages on the service departments voicemail, left messages for Daniel the service manager, and left messages directly with employees. I have even left messages for Kelly or Courtney their customer relations person and haven’t heard back.

I’ve bought ALL of my major appliances from Standard; refrigerator, oven, cook top, dishwasher, and recently a washer and dryer.
They have a large, good selection, and the sales staff are VERY knowledgable with their inventory. I do a lot of research before making big ticket purchases, but because these purchases are so far between, I lack the ability to compare technological advances product to product. Tony Gayaldo was a wealth of information concerning the market and my laundry needs. He gave me the best comparative price (I checked), and after «the sale» he is still helpful with rebate and operating questions; it’s nice to have a contact that knows their business and will be there (even years later) when needed, unlike the big box stores that seem to lack expertise and have high employee turnover.
Standard really does «stand» behind a sale. If you shop educated it’s a win/​win situation. In my experience Standard TV and Appliance is far above «standard.»

My Am Range stopped heating week of Aug 3^rd, was delighted to have bought an extended guarantee for it from Standard. After numerous unanswered calls including to Nate Wilker, Svc Mgr I spoke to Gen Mgr. about 10 days ago. Finally today comes for the Standard service man to install the new part and he calls to say Standard made the apt too late in the day, could he come earlier. Of course I have a job and today a doctor’s apt so the earliest he could come
is 1:00. I am waiting to see if he reschedules. It’s now Sept 9^th, think I will forgo any more warranty purchases from Standard. As a matter of fact I will forgo any more purchases and I have been purchasing from them for decades. I’m done.

We were referred to standard TV and appliance after trying to buy a fridge at Sears. Our wait at Sears for delivery was 2 weeks found the same fridge same price and standard is getting us the fridge on the day we need it. They were friendly, easy to work with given that it was Labor Day and busy with sales. The facility is clean and professional. We were very happy with our purchase and we also didn’t have to pay delivery or install charge. We will definitely refer them to our friends and family!

I purchased a top of the line refrigerator 60 days ago and it recently died. The service guy came to look at it 7 days ago and said it had a freon leak. He said he would call me Monday to let me know when it could be fixed, but I never received a call. It’s now been 7 days and so I called their service department. They told me the parts are due in today, but that it wouldn’t be until next week until they could get back to me! So with parts in hand they aren’t willing to fix my fridge for another 6+ days? Great, going weeks without a fridge after shelling out over 3k. Horrible service!
Update — someone from Standard (Courtney) replied to my review, and gave me the service manager’s email, suggesting they would like to make things right. I emailed the person, and was not surprised that I did not get a response. To this day I still do not have a working refrigerator/​freezer! They’ve had the parts to fix my fridge since ⁸⁄₂₇ and it’s now ⁹⁄₈. Stay away!

Im forced to give 1 star or it would be none. I can’t even get this sham of a business to return a call. Dishwasher almost caught fire 2 days ago. I’ve tried and tried calling. Nobody has returned my call in 2 days. I called after hours last night and was told by receptionist «I’ve heard nothing but bad things about our service department lately «.

Went in to the store over the weekend. First thing I noticed is the“used car lot” atmosphere going on. It is nice that you are greeted right away, but once you are pointed in the right direction i prefer to actually have time to look before being harassed by a sales associate. Second thing I noticed is that the prices are higher then their competitors. They have a low price guarantee, supposedly. I must have made a loud comment about the high prices because the sales associate decided to inform me that they don’t have time to change the signage on the appliances because the prices change so frequently. But he said that they have a website that checks the prices of all the local retailers out there to ensure that you are getting the lowest price. I asked the sales associate for the price and availability of a Samsung fridge and a Fisher Paykel dishwasher. I already knew that Fisher Paykel was price protected so the listed price was correct. As the sales associate is search for pricing and availability, I pulled out my phone do a quick search and find the Samsung fridge for $ 400 less at 2 competitors. The sales associate comes back and informs me that the lowest price he could find was $ 63 less then the price on the fridge. So much for searching their competitors.
Everyone do yourself a favor and go to Lowes or Best Buy.

I will never shop at Standard Appliance again. My last purchase will indeed be the last purchase I ever make there. I have shopped at Standard for many years when in need of appliances and always felt respected and treated fairly. Not this time.
I spent quite a while looking for the perfect range – high end. I went in several times and rarely found the same salesperson; the salespersons had quite different levels of experience and knowledge of the product making it difficult to be confident of the information.
Their recommended installers had difficulties installing my purchase and when I called my salesperson, I was threatened with a 40% restocking fee if I returned the, as yet, uninstalled range – even the installers who were listening to the conversation were surprised with that reaction. Later, I was told the fee would only be 10%
We went to considerable effort to make the range work and at installation found that a missing piece would make the oven unusable. We called Standard who washed their hands of us and sent us to the manufacturer for recourse. If I am lucky, that missing piece will arrive and I will finally have an oven – it’s been weeks!
I sent an email to my salesperson – the one who got the big commission – to ask if the salesperson would look in the warehouse for the piece, help get us another, or for support; it went unanswered.
It appears that once a commission is earned the customer is out of luck.
What a disappointment!

He has taken care of our family’s appliance needs for many years now.
He is trustworthy, knowledgable, and friendly.
We recently had a problem with a washer and drier we purchased for our height impaired grown daughter. Stacking was the way to go, so we tried a Blomberg washer and drier, thinking smaller would be better. Small loads, shorter profile. Not the case. They drier didn’t dry. The washer took forever.
Tony and Standard stood by their service and products and we have a Samsung washer and drier on the way.
Tony and the other salespeople treated my daughter with the same respect they treat me and my husband.

After making an appointment with Shelly last week for a tech to fix my dishwasher and fridge today sometime between 1 – 4, the scheduler just called me and said sorry, I schelded someone THAT ISNT WORKING TODAY!!! So I’ve been sitting for 2.5 hours for nothing… and the SOONEST they could come is now 3 days away.
She did not offer to wave any fees, offer to come after hours, NOTHING… her response after voicing my frustration was «I don’t want to make you frustrated».
My free time is very precious to me, AND THIS PISSES ME OFF!!!

Over the past decade we have bought a couple of different appliances from Standard going all the way back when they were located down in Tigard. The newer showroom is in Beaverton and has way more room than the old place.
The place has always had higher prices so you need to compare them to the big boxed stores, they will price match. Don’t pay full price if you don’t have to.
This last week we purchased a washing machine from the salesman Joe. He took the time to explain about the different models and what our needs were. We didn’t get the exact model that I had wanted because of the dock workers backing up the cargo ships. Thanks a lot long shore men, you guys are hurting so many business with your work slow down crap.
The delivery was good, the guy called in the morning before he came over. He took care of all the trash, setup the new machine and took away the old washer. I had never thought about giving the installer a tip before, don’t know why, maybe because when you spend a lot of money on something you already paid for a tip? I never tipped a car salesman before either. I did tip this guy $ 5 for his 20 plus minutes of work. I asked how many stops he will make that day and he replied 12, and he was alone. If the installers do a good job for you, don’t forget to tip, they do appreciate it.

I bought all my appliances for a new home from Standard several years ago, and the service was acceptable. I recently moved and purchased a top of the line cooktop from Standard for a remodel. My intent was to purchase new appliances as the work progressed — overall it would have been a large order, but in increments. The salesman did not contact me, delivery dates were missed, and all management, including the top level, promised to fix the situation and then promptly forgot about it.
Don’t purchase here if you are only buying one appliance and expect decent service — you’ve got to outfit an entire house before you’ll get that and you’ll probably be lucky even then if they care.
Since posting this review and writing yet another letter, I finally received my refund. Still won’t shop there again. Customer should not have to chase down their refund promised after bad service.

Finally heard back from DIANE of Standard TV and Appliances. Their stance is pretty much too bad. They agreed to refund me the tip I gave to the original installers. So for $ 30 bucks of MY money back they’re wiping their hands clean.
According to DIANE, the unit I received was a faulty unit. So it’s not their fault the installers never fully test the unit after installation even though it is standard practice. I think the most comical part was at the end of our call, she said, «well you have my number if there’s anything you need you can give me a call.» She already drew the line in the sand, I have no use for her number. Does she expect me to give her a call just to chit chat when I’m bored? What a joke of a company. Just look at the reviews here. They’re AWFUL. Full of one star reviews for poor customer service. I wish I had read the reviews before being suckered into «support local businesses».
It’s also funny that Courtney S. of Standard TV and Appliances just copy/​paste all her responses. She’s «so sorry» for their failure and «customer’s great experience» is always their #1 goal blah blah blah. Yet nothing is done to rectify the situation because all these negative reviews just repeat themselves like groundhog day.
Another point I failed to mention in the previous review is that the second delivery team also dented my wall. She promised someone would call me regarding that repair, but I still haven’t heard anything back.
If you’re in market for new appliances, AVOID ALEX ALEXANDER & STANDARD TV & APPLIANCES. You’re going to regret your decision. If you do decide to go with them, I hope you never have to deal with DIANE.

A few days ago, after finding out my electric clothes dryer needed to be replaced, I stopped in at Standard TV & Appliance. But only after spending a half hour in my car reading that store’s Unilocal reviews. And I was surprised at some of the negative posts.
Once I walked in I was greeted and asked what I needed. After explaining my situation and asking for a gas dryer (I was looking to convert) I was told that everything they had was electric. Except two floor models that were «on sale». When I asked why more gas dryers weren’t kept on hand I was told that «they cost about the same to run» but that gas models ran about $ 130 more and had to be ordered. Huh?
When I asked what features I might want to look for or avoid, the «salesman» looked at me like I was crazy and said «What?» When I asked again, he said «That’s up to you!» Seriously — no advice at all.
The kicker was earlier when, trying to give the guy a chance by mentioning some of the scary Unilocal reviews, he chose to ignore me. True story — no ownership whatsoever. That does not instill confidence, to say the least. Nor does hiding prices on your web site.
Suffice it to say that when he told me he’d «check on me» while I went back to look at the two floor models, I couldn’t leave fast enough.
Incompetence like this left unchecked will eventually ruin any company. Including Standard TV & Appliance. My experience was akin to looking at used cars on the most unscrupulous lots.
My best advice is to avoid this store like the plague.
