History

Established in 1982.

Tom Karwin founded Fireside Distributors of Oregon, Inc. in 1982. In the beginning, Tom was the sole employee, putting in long hours driving forklifts, answering phones and going the extra mile for his customers. Through Tom’s dedication, Fireside quickly became the preferred choice of professional homebuilders and remodel contractors in the Portland area. In 1985, Tom partnered with William (Bill) Nirk to open Fireside of Washington in Kent. Bill quickly grew the operation by providing excellent customer service and expanded the business to support three showroom locations. Over the years Fireside has expanded to include a broader base of products and now operates as Fireside Home Solutions. Our commitment to the homebuilder and homeowner has never deviated from our founders’ goal to provide excellent customer service.
