Veltman Flooring

I found Peter Veltman and his crew to be a true professionals in the laminate and carpet installation recently completed in my home. They were prompt, courteous, meticulous, neat and reasonably priced! I’ve had experience with many contractors over the years, and I can be quite picky. After the job was done and the boys were gone, I got my magnifinging glass out and found an area that I wasn’t thrilled with… did I mention that I’m picky? I felt confident Peter would address my request. He came back in a very timely manner and addressed my issue without diminishing my concern. I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend Veltman flooring.

These guys are awesome! I called multiple companies to try to get a tile repair job done and after no real response or commitment, I was feeling frustrated. I called Veltman Flooring and Peter came right out and gave me an estimate. I accepted and he and his son in law came out a few days later and completed the job. They were professional, polite, and worked hard during the entire job. The tile floor and backsplash look amazing! Their prices are very fair for the quality and efficiency of the work they do. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent job. Did a complete remodel of our house. Veltman Flooring installed both hardwood flooring and carpeting and it looks beautiful. Did quite a bit of comparison shopping for the materials used and Veltman was able to find better pricing. This is the third time I have used this company and I would definitely use them again.

I contacted this company, Bruce, came out and gave me a quote we made a few adjustments and came up with materials and all of the specifications to do flooring job using two different materials throughout the whole house, the job was done on budget and on schedule, I would recommend this contractor.

Great Installers!!! They installed my hardwood floors and did an Awesome job! Peter had a great crew working for him and i have absolutely No Complaints! I read the other review on this company and i am Totally Shocked! Honestly you just Cant make everyone Happy. And the installation depends a Lot on the Product they are installing. If you buy a CHEAP product you WILL get a Cheap Floor! So keep up the Great Work Veltman Flooring and remember you Cant and Wont make Everyone happy!

Don’t hire these guys. They are bullies with bad attitudes and poor workmanship.
Continuing from my post last week, as I suspected, Veltman was a no show on Tuesday and he didn’t bother to respond to my 2 messages until I left a third threatening to go to the State License Board. Then he finally texted me saying he would come out and see what he could do. I texted back that if he didn’t know how to do his job I’d talked to enough contractors that I could direct him on how to fix the problem. He finally did come out Friday 9÷6÷13. He and his assistant gave me a lot of attitude. They had snide comments on everything from my housekeeping to their firm belief that even if they trimmed the floors they would never lay flat but keep on expanding forever. I had to ride roughshod over them, looking up the instructions online because they still didn’t know how much space to leave (I guess they never bothered to read those) and checking their work every few minutes with a tape measure because even after I told them, they still weren’t leaving enough space. All this, while dealing with their constant hostility was exhausting.
In the end, the trimmed floors finally laid flat (surprise, surprise). Unfortunately, Veltman and his assistant peeled plaster and paint off my walls getting the floorboards off and left trash in my carport. They even put some of the damaged flooring in my green yard waste bin!
I have heard from other folks that it’s not uncommon for installers to discover they didn’t leave enough of a space between flooring and wall because of the variation in materials. What they usually do is simply come out a second time and make adjustments without all the ego and drama.
At least it’s done. For now. I had another contractor out today for a bid on something completely different, but he has done some flooring. He discovered additional problems with Veltman’s installation. Such as, the board seams are not properly spaced and some boards are not locked together as Click Lock is supposed to be. So my fight with Mr. Veltman may continue. But yours doesn’t have to even begin! If you want a good flooring contractor, call Jay Henson.
