CC’s Coffee House

I’ve been fortunate enough to not have had to come to Our Lady of the Lake until now so this CC’s is new to me. It’s nice to have a coffee shop that’s inside the hospital especially when you’re exhausted because you’ve been up all night waiting to hear some kind of news about your family member. It’s on the first floor as soon as you walk in the main entrance across from the Smoothie King. It’s like a «CC’s to-​go» because there’s nowhere to sit in there but there’s an area across the hall with several tables and chairs. Most people are gonna grab it and go back to their family members room or wherever they were at anyway so it’s not a big deal. The employees were nice, the place was clean and they were getting peoples orders out very quickly.

This CC’s is inside of the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. It is located in a great location; it’s just inside the front doors, it’s very close to the elevators from the patient rooms and it is at the bottom of the escalator that rides you up to St. Mary’s Tower.
It is very aesthetically pleasing with its bright colors and glass walls and doors. The coffee shop itself is standing room only with just enough room to order your coffee, pay for it, cream and sugar it and get out. There is a place across the hall for you to go sit and drink your coffee.
I’d like to clear something up. People from generations where coffee was just coffee and you did not go to a special place to spend a lot of money for it because people give it fancy names may find this whole «coffee shop in a hospital» thing downright horrifying. I understand this. Please do not be confused. There is still complimentary coffee within the hospital in waiting rooms and such. It still comes in a styrofoam cup and there is even a container of Community Creamer and sugar next to it. This particular place is an outside business that rents space and makes money by calling coffee by fancy names.
I really like this CC’s. The employees go out of their way to be kind. It is always clean and the place where you go to sit and have your coffee is different than any other CC’s.
