Acadia Pines Motel

Shows some age but well maintained and clean. Far enough back from the road to muffle traffic noise. Very pleasant staff and super fast check in, check out. No breakfast included.

Stayed for 3 nights. Pretty much just needed a bed to sleep in since we were hiking or hanging out in Bar Harbor the whole time. This place is not modern in terms of room décor but it was affordable and served its purpose.
The guy at the desk was very nice and gave us great tips for restaurants and the best way to get around the area. He also recommended a wonderful spot to catch the sunset and we went twice (both times there were very few people there as opposed to when we went to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and it was packed!)
The wifi worked great the entire time and so did the heat (actually had to turn it down in the middle of the night). Very convenient to Acadia National Park visitor entrance and also to downtown Bar Harbor. Bed was comfy. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Acadia.

Stayed here for 1 night in May 2014, visiting Acadia National Park. No significant complaints, decent motel. Good location along the main road into Bar Harbor.
The only thing was that we were going to arrive around 9:30pm, and when we called ahead to book the employee talking to us was very iffy on whether he’d even be there when we arrived. He said he usually leaves between 9−10pm and shuts down the reception area, so he may or may not be there… which left us unsure of whether we’d have a room. I asked «well we should be getting there around 9:30, so can you just stay until then?» and he was like «maybe»… Weird. It turned out ok though, as he was there. If we’d arrived a bit later it could have become a huge problem though.
Room was fine, had a fridge which was a bonus. The heat wasn’t very powerful and it was only about 40 °F outside at night, so if you went during a colder time of year it might be a problem.

Acadia Pines is as close to a perfect bare-​bones motel as you can find.
The amenities are scarce (yes, you do pay for ice), there is no room phone (who uses them?) and the bugs are present — you’re in a giant patch of wilderness for the love of Pike. But the rooms (maybe 12?), staff, location and price just can’t beat.
Needing a very late check-​in — thanks Labor Day traffic! — we were welcomed by a sign at the door and instructions for claiming our key. The room was pulled from a motel stock photo: queen bed with off-​white linens, greenish herringbone carpet, two chairs/​places to lay your clothes, a CRT TV, ample closet space, mini fridge and a full bathroom. It’s layout, plain but comfortable; nothing is cramped for economical efficiency. And everything about the room is fresh smelling and immaculately maintained. A real home away from home.
Maybe an 8 minute drive to the Village Green of Bar Harbor, it’s also conveniently on the park’s free shuttle service, so go ahead and have another lobster shooter. The bus has got you, boo. Oh, and did I mention the sweet aromas of BBQ next door and Pirate’s Cove mini golf across the street? *Cue Dave from Storage Wars*
We didn’t make use of the heated pool because, y’know, there was a mammoth national park in our backyard. But I’m sure if the urge to dip our paddies in the water struck, it’d be just as warm and inviting as the rest of the place.

I traveled with my boyfriend and we stayed at one of the king size bed rooms for 2 nights. Overall experience at this motel was good. We got there late but they left us a note with directions.
When we checked out we actually left a few things behind. They called and emailed me as soon as they found out. I thought it was very generous of them to do that.
Only thing was… the bed was way to soft.
This motel is not fancy. It is not right in the middle of Bar Harbor, but if you are looking for something affordable with nice service, this place will do the job.
A heated pool was nice.

We recently stayed at the Acadia Pines Motel for 3 nights. To be able to stay as long as we wanted, we had to stay somewhere inexpensive, and so we were not expecting lush accommodations. Even so, we were somewhat disappointed in Acadia Pines. It just had an old feel — there was old wall paper that was peeling, the grounds were not well maintained, and the overall look was un-​updated 70s. The advertised wifi didn’t work (and nothing was done to fix it), the air conditioning worked poorly, and we had to kill at least one bug that flew in with us every time we came back into the room. Maid service was fine ²⁄₃ days, but was very bad on the 3^rd day (floor not vacuumed, stained towels, counter and toilet had been wiped but had hair on them). Less importantly, the room did not have a phone, and the hair dryer didn’t work. We had hoped to use the shuttle buses to and from the park and the town, but the motel is on a very long loop and it wasn’t worth the extra times. We noticed that other hotels of similar caliber were sold out while the pines was not.
On the upside, the location is great, and to be fair, it was inexpensive.
