History

Established in 2008.

Two guys with a love for fishing and a passion to share their catch with good friends, decided to combine these passions and do what they did best.“What would happen if we opened a Fresh Fish Market & Grill, served only the best of the catch in a relaxed atmosphere and did it in… the Desert?” That is what Louis Pagano and life-​long friend Bill Mortz did 15 years ago and the results speak for themselves. Voted Best «Seafood Restaurant, Value, & Fish Taco,» Fisherman’s Market & Grill is now four restaurants strong. According to Louis Pagano, who grew up on his father’s fishing boat in San Pedro, «There’s no secret to providing and serving the finest tasting seafood in the world, just purchase the finest quality… all the time!» We hope you enjoy our fresh seafood catch, cooked the same way we prepared it in our galleys for years.

The food was UBER fresh (one of my fried oysters had a piece of shell on it, but I didn’t mind, it showed how fresh it was) and soooo good. I also ordered the shrimp basket and it was delish! The coleslaw, which is usually bland at other places, was awesome! Although we spent $ 80 for lunch, the food was definitely worth it. The only negative was that the «spontaneous banter» from our hostess was fake & rehashed. She actually asked how our service/​food was, then walked off in the middle of my husband’s response to her.

Ugh! I read the reviews and regretted visiting this place. The clam strips tasted like battered cardboard. The world famous fish tacos were ok. I would certainly not recommend stopping here for a bite to eat after a long road trip.

Excellent lunch the mahi sliders are the buisness. Perfect serving size and everything is super fresh.
Another awesome dish is the salmon ceasor salad light yet filling. Not bad on the price for the distance from the ocean.

Outrageous prices and very light servings. I ordered the fisherman’s platter and was disappointed. The fried squid was very thin and the the biggest 2 chunks were the fish fillets. I rather drive a few more miles and enjoy the Boiling Crab at a more reasonable price and better quality. Over all paid 27 $ for 1 platter, chowder soup and a fountain drink. Rip Off!!!

I don’t know why we don’t come here more often. The service is excellent. The food is pretty good. The crowd is so nice and friendly. It’s always best and clean. We leave with a big smile. I won’t take so long in visiting next time.

Good Lunch Special and lunch pricing wasn’t bad either. I ordered the soup and Caesar Salad and was surprised how filling it was. It came with a bowl of Clam Chowder and a Box of Caesar Salad that felt like 2 servings of salad. Also a large dinner roll, crackers and fresh Caesar dressing. I added a fountain drink for$.99 cent and the total was $ 8.73.

Been several times over 6 months, great fish and chips, great white clam chowder and the bowl is huge. Cheese bread is great and enough for 2 – 3 people, Not cheap but it is worth it .

Absolutely loved it! Food & service was amazing! The staff were very friendly & attentive.
I ordered the kabob with mahi mahi, shrimp & scallops. They were seasoned perfectly. And the cook on those scallops, omg they just melted in your mouth! I picked the ceasar salad & sweet potato fries as my sides. By far the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had, I’ve never had them criss cut before but I’m glad I did.
My boyfriend ordered the Alaskan cod with shrimp. He wasn’t too fond of the tartar sauce but omygoodness those potato wedges were one of the best we’ve ever had. They were crispy and full of flavor. The rice pilaf also had good flavor, it wasn’t plain like you would get at other places.
We would most definitely come here again & highly recommend it! So much so that we’re leaving a review which we almost never do. Thank you Fisherman for such an exceptional dinner!

Something about sea food in the desert. I was shocked at how good the calm chowder was considering I’m from new England I have high standards. The Cajun catfish was exceptional with the rice side. The is a define second visit next time I’m in town.

In the mood for very tasty seafood? This is the place! It’s my first time eating here. The restaurant is clean and well appointed.
I had the salmon sandwich with coleslaw and potato wedges and Sobe flavored water to drink.
Food is cooked to order. No disappointments here! The next time I’m in this area, I will be returning :).

Ordered surf n turf. =)) get here b4 830. They close at 9pm… lots of selections. Have been here many times… good selections… almost too many… this location has drive thru as well. Have always found staff friendly helpful and accommodating… clam chowder is excellent. So is mahi burger… calamari tasty… really cannot go wrong. Havent found anything not tasty here… will try the cioppino next time… thats a seafood soup that sounds like has everything in it!

Well, it is not often I find myself in Banning CA. Went here with the family after spending the long weekend in Palm Springs for fun. Unilocal this place and thought we would give it a try, we were glad we did. They have plenty of seating in doors and outside patio as well. We made our order, grabbed a table and they brought over our food. Yes the food takes a bit but its because its freshly made I think, which is a plus for me.
The staff were also very patient and friendly with us, since we had never been here we had a few questions regarding the menu. This place is also very conveniently located next to the freeway so you don’t have to go out of your way much to come eat here and then hop back on. The food was very tasty. I got the Cajun Tilapia with coleslaw and rice which all was real good. Their calamari was nicely breaded and not too greasy.
I would definitely recommend making a pit stop here if you are on the 10 going east or west. its worth the stop here for sure.

How did I end up in Banning? Welllll my family and I were driving back from Palm Springs and wanted to eat lunch on our way back to LA.
I went on Unilocal and looked for a good seafood restaurant along the 10 freeway and boom found this great spot. I ordered the Cajun tilapia that was so darn good with rice pilaf. I got to try their calamari and baja fish tacos — all of them tasted great. Prices are a bit higher, but hey it’s seafood I think it’s worth it. They have a lot of seating inside and some outside. They don’t allow dogs inside unless their a service dog, but they let you put them in the patio.

Ok, so driving up we started to wonder if this was the right place. The parking lot was empty and there were almost no customers inside. The server was polite and took our order, payable up front. We sat and watch, and in record time out rolled a massive platter of fried seafood with cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Food was hot and plentiful. We ate the meal of the righteous! Carryout boxes were in order and we packed our dinner.
Delightful place and not to be under estimated. Serve was spot on and food of good quality…
