Had this place do my brakes. Easy enough, right? Wrong! Took my car to another place and they said whoever did the brakes set the bearings too tight and it busted the wheel bearings, rotor and spindle. Either these guys are crooks or incompetent or a mixture of both. NEVER AGAIN! BEWARE!

Been coming here for years, and can safely say these people are not criminals. I lived around the corner from this place, and any time something goes wrong, I bring my car here. Abel is awesome, and even recommend people on occasion to come here.

This place is a rip off! I was charged $ 12 to patch a tire. WTF! Made me wonder what they sell a used tire for. I would never return to this place let alone recommend it.

Very affordable and honest. They’ve done work on my 2003 Dodge Dakota, and gave me a very fair price on a new a/​c unit. They’ve also done work on my 2007 BMW. And, no they do not take advantage of women who know nothing about cars. The owner is a woman and she’s totally cool. I highly recommend them to everyone.

Knowledgeable and affordable, Abel’s has been my mechanic for the past 15 (yup FIFTEEN!) years. I’ve enthusiastically recommended this garage to all of my family and friends. Not a single one has come back to me with regret.
I’ve had the following services done here: oil change, brake repair, new tires, tune-​up, timing belt changed, spark plugs changed, and outside referral to a body shop.
I’ve gone to all these other local places and the estimates I’ve received and/​or services rendered from Baldwin Park Firestone, Covina EZ Lube, West Covina Discount Tire, and the service dept at West Covina Toyota were ALL higher. Olivia seems to try and help customers out. I encourage all of you to price hunt. You’d be stunned how much more Covina EZ Lube would charge you compared to Abel’s.
I’ve also had time to talk to the mechanics over the years. All of them seem like they know what they’re doing. My personal favorites: Bert, Jose, and Joaquin. I’ve got trust in these guys to keep my car running great.
Since prices are quoted by Olivia, I’m a bit surprised that the initial reviewer found their prices unfair. The exact reason I go to Abel’s is directly because of their competitive pricing.
Hope you guys check this place out. I think they’re great.

NOT A GOOD CHOICE! The lead mechanic drooling as I pulled into the shop should have been an obvious clue to flee from this Twilight Zone but other shops were busy and service was needed. Their prices are highly inflated and the level of expertise is mediocre. Repairs were not completed properly. Overall an unpleasant experience. AVOID THIS SHOP!

I would give negative stars if that were possible!
DO NOT GO HERE! They are criminals and rip off woman or anyone that doesn’t really know about cars! Their the type that will tell you need all kinds of things when all you went in for was a oil change.
Okay so I have a Honda Civic 2002, with 100,000 miles. I am in no way car saavy, so I had no idea where to take it to have a timing belt changed. The auto shop that I normally take it to was really busy and I couldn’t wait because I came a hour away (from riverside). So my mom told me this man abel would come to her work and pass out fliers of his shop and seemed really friendly and trustworthy.
Nothing was wrong with my car to begin with it was running perfectly fine, but the only reason I was taking it in for the timing belt was cause I was told by friends that around 100,000 I should have it changed. So I took it in here, and next thing you know I supposedly needed my motor mount replaced, breaks replaced, tune up, etc… totalling out to over a grand. I had to leave it over night and the next day I picked it up drove it home and had it sit over night here at my house. the following day I started it, the whole car was shaking like crazy and I called abel and he said have my bf or someone else check it out. really?! I paid you over a grand and your telling me to have someone else fix it?! So i drove all the way back and they said it might have been a loose spark plug.
To make a long story short… they supposedly fixed it, but my car has never ran the same since taking it in… It still shakes when I start it, just not like the day after I took it home from the shop.
Just because everyone there is nice including Abel the owner, don’t be fooled they are true con– artists!
