History

Established in 2006.

This location was opened in January 2006. Although the largest of the two office locations, this location was originally the 3^rd office location for Doctors Li & Liao.

Dr Li & Liao originally partnered with Dr. Barry Uminksy in 2002 and practiced out of two office locations, at our existing Wible Road location and a smaller office in Lamont. Soon after Dr. Uminsky’s retirement, this present Brimhall location was opened.

Dr Li & Liao have been practicing in the Bakersfield community since 2001, with a continued emphasis on making customer service our main priority for everyone who steps into the office. Utilizing every technology at our disposal, we believe in giving the best care possible to maintain lifelong vision and eye health. We also believe in having fun with our fashion choices in ophthalmic and sunglass frames. If you need to wear glasses and sunglasses, why not look great doing it!

Business Owner

Dr. Dawson T. Li attended the University of California at Los Angeles where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychobiology in 1995. After graduating from UCLA, he attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL and earned his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1999. He has been serving the Bakersfield community since the Fall of 2001.

Dr. Li’s focus is on family practice optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease and contact lenses. He is board certified to diagnose, treat, and manage diseases of the eye and use therapeutic and pharmacological agents. Dr. Li also is fluent in Spanish to accommodate his Spanish speaking patients.

Dr. Li is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and is the acting president of the Kern County Optometric Society. Community service and striving for excellence are very important to Dr. Li. He is currently an active member of the Bakersfield West Rotary Club and the Bakersfield Business Network.
