Evergreen Nursery

Horrible customer service. I spoke to German and he was rude from the beginning. I initially thought he was having a bad day but we would still visit the nursery. We were told they would be open on a Saturday. After driving half an hour getting there at 2 pm, they were closed. The only number listed on their sign is German’s (owner) cell phone. We called him. No answer. Left a message and waited for another half hour. Called again, still no answer so we left. We’ve called several times over the past week and still haven’t gotten a reply. Is this business closed? Why the heck would you not want any traffic coming through here? I won’t waste my time with this place.

Went here today 6÷28÷2014. They were closed. Gate locked. No one answering the cell phone. I don’t think they’re out of business but I highly reccommend, CALL BEFORE YOU GO.

After reading a prior reviewers comment, I had to view the plumeria forest – amazing. They have tree size plumerias in all sorts of colors. I was initially drawn to the variety of Japanese trees I viewed upon entering the nursery. The owner, German Velasco, has all of the maple tree varieties, along with exotic bamboo types. This definitely should be a stop for any plant collector looking for something unique.

I became aware of this business when I was shopping at exhibit hall #4 at the LA County Fair. I purchased a beautiful, colorful California Sunset Plumeria plant as well as some fertilizer as I am a plumeria enthusiast. I noticed they had on display in their booth, a poster of a plumeria plant with purple flowers. I inquired about it and was told it was called a Purple Jack Plumeria. It was really gorgeous and pretty rare to see! I was told by German Velasco, the man running the booth that they had sold out last week of this plant, but had some still available at their nursery in Avocado Heights.
Thus, my hubby and I made a trek out to Avocado Heights/​Hacienda Heights in search of this particular flower. The nursery is located in a residential neighborhood, so don’t get freaked out when you are looking for it and find yourself among a bunch of houses. But don’t be fooled. This nursery is HUGE!!! When we pulled up to the place, I was AMAZED as the whole front part of the nursery was covered in potted plumeria plants of every size, every color, every type. It was INSANE! If you are into plumeria plants and looking for something rare and beautiful this is the place to shop for sure!!! Never in my life have I seen so many plumeria plants. It looked like a plumeria plant forest, and I am not exaggerating here! We did not venture to the back where all the other plants were, but believe me this place was huge! I was greeted by German’s father, Aurelio and told him I was looking for the Purple Jack Plumeria plant. He was very nice and took me through their forest of plumeria plants. Among that forest of plumeria plants sat two 7 gallon pots containing the plant I was looking for. It was nice and healthy looking. In all honesty all of their plants look well cared for and very healthy looking. I was able to make my purchase no hassle, no fuss.
In addition to plumeria plants, they sell a variety of plants including: bamboos, ferns, fruit trees, tropical plants/​flowers, succulents, palms, bulbs, shrubs and so much more. They also do landscaping services.
This nursery is open Monday-​Saturday 10 AM — 5PM and Sunday from 11 AM — 5 PM. They accept cash or credit card as well.
This place is definitely a hidden gem!
