She was super helpful, picked up our luggage when we arrived, dropped it off when we left, and we even bumped into her in town a few times! She’s very accomodating, and was just a joy to work with. The room was perfect, and there were even some nice perfumes, colognes, shampoos, etc in the bathroom when we got there. We made good use of the kitchen, and we even got to sit on the porch and watch a thunderstorm while we sipped coffee. It’s a 2 minute walk to Avalon, just far enough away from the night-​life noise. AND, she has a VHS-​DVD player, AND Young Guns 1 and 2. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to spend a couple wonderful nights on the island.

We loved this adorable apartment, and we will always stay here! Cozy, comfy, clean and cute as can be! Jeannie has not missed a thing! Fresh flowers, lots of fluffy white towels, lovely toiletries and a perfect little kitchen. I loved sitting on the little front porch and having coffee. It is so nice to have Jeannie pick us up at the dock with our bags and drive us to her place in her golf cart, and also take us back when sadly it was time to board the return boat. We will never stay anywhere else, perfect getaway for us! Thanks Jeannie!

First if all Jeanie Shelton, proprietor, was very nice! She picked us up at the boat in her golf cart. She drove us to her lovely guesthouse with our luggage. My wife and I had two nights to stay on Catalina. Sheltons on the Island was perfect. Situated right in the middle of town, we had access to all that Catalina had to offer. Our room was sunny and spacious. We will never forget our trip to Catalina! When it was time to go home, we shopped and had lunch before our boat left. Jeanie was there waiting for us at the pier with our luggage! Perfect! Thank you so much, Jeanie

When we arrived off the Flyer Jennie was there to meet us at the pier with her golf cart. Obiously we had a lot of stuff for 4 people since we arrived with all our Scuba gear and our tanks but we were able to load up the cart and off we went to the apartment. We walked over to the room with the kids because it was only about 4 blocks away. When we arrived the room we fount it to be well appointed with everything we needed. Cold bottled water was in the fridge along with candies and popcorn and condiment items in the fridge. The aparment had all the things that you would expect in a furnished aparment. There was several types of shampoos in the bathroom, soaps and parfumes and colognes. Freash towels were placed in the bathroom several times a day. The apartment does not have central cooling so the fans were well used since in July the temperatures reached the 80’s while we were there but cooled down at night in the upper 60’s. Beach towels were rolled up and storred in a cabinet. Jeanie was there to help us with anything that we needed. She even had a chocolate cake! When we had 3 small bags of laundry after 4 nights and we had need of use of the washing machine. When we arrived back from our Jeep tour we found that she had not only washed our laundry but neetly folded it and had it ready when we returned. We always knew the best resturants and the 1 dollar taco times at the Sand Trap resturant 2 to 7 PM. She took care of us while we were on the Island. One concern is that durring July the shelves of Vons were bare of the necessities like Eggs, Milk and Breakfast Items. We were forced to spend money in the resturants because there was no food items in the stores to be purchaced. Hence we never used the stove or the oven while we were there. We used the microwave a lot. Golf carts were a must but there is only a couple of rental companies in Avalon. They only rent by the hour and it is expensive 40 dollars an hour. If you can find a local willing to part from their cart, you may be able to find a rental for a couple of days at a cheaper price. With tanks and scuba gear it was a must. It was a wonderful beach city that is small and manageable. We found plenty to do from Zip lines to botanical gardens to shoping and Jeep tours. The Apartmen had movies and a DVD player. We had all we needed to keep the kids entertained. The beach was within walking distance and welcomed with the warm July temperatures. We love Jeanies Place.

This cozy residence was the perfect place for an island getaway. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Mermaid Suite two nights last week. The host Jeanie was such a pleasure and readily available. She was helpful with tips on what to do around the island, and indicated that we should book our zipline tour nice and early before it sold out (thanks for the heads up on that!) She let me borrow her iron for some last-​minute wrinkles. The place way very clean –which is a big deal because both my boyfriend and I have high standards for what that means– and both the bed and the couch/​bed were comfortable. The doorways are narrow and a bit tricky to navigate, but other than that, the whole experience was delightful. They really do have everything available for a perfect cup of coffee as they advertise. That was definitely a life-​saver. The location was great. I recommend that if you are thinking of an over-​night stay in Avalon, that you stay at Shelton’s on the Island. I know I will.

Such a WONDERFUL experience at Shelton’s on the Island. From the moment I called to book, Jeannie was amazing. We weren’t sure how we would like renting an apartment/​condo vs a hotel, but we would not do it any other way now. We mostly cooked in, and the Von’s is very close. There were wonderful ammenities and extras like water in the fridge (and SO MUCH more). The hospitality was second to none. We will definitely be staying at Shelton’s every time we are on the Island.

«Shelton’s on the Island» was THE perfect choice for our honeymoon get-​away! My husband and I stayed their for five days and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The apartments come fully equipped with all needed amenities and toiletries and Jeanie even threw in some extra surprises to make our romantic get-​away that much more delightful. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, watching movies on their DVD player, as well as all the adventures and scenic tours provided in beautiful Avalon.
And Jeanie was delightful! She met us at the boat dock and drove us (and all our bags of luggage) to the hotel. She took pictures of us along to way to commemorate our honeymoon and introduced us to some of the best local jaunts.
We seriously could not have asked for a better experience lodging at Catalina. We know where we’ll be staying at Avalon again in the future!
