Temprite

Can I say awesome? My home warranty company assigned me this company after my furnace died! I wasn’t sure what was going wrong with my furnace, but I knew that it not turning was not a good sign. I sent a service request on a Sunday and on Monday I had a called about when they could come out. They came out on Tuesday and diagnosed the problem. They work with my home warranty to get it covered and gave me advice on how to make sure my warranty covered my furnace in the future. They also got the part needed and installed it so hint 24 hours.
They were fantastic and professional. I couldn’t ask for more from a company.

I highly recommend Andrew at TempRite. Andrew was both the salesperson and installer that helped me. Andrew replaced 2 complete AC systems at my house. Andrew is very personable, detailed oriented and does great work. Andrew takes pride in his work and is extremely professional. Andrew is one of those few individuals that does exactly what he says he will do without trying to cut corners or charge you more later. Before and during the installation I asked a lot of questions, which Andrew was very welcoming and patient answering the questions. Andrew is also creative and a craftsman. As an example, Andrew extended out an air vent outside so it would not blow on the compressor. It was all around a great experience working with Andrew at TempRite.

I would recommend these guys to everyone I know! Great customer service. With both of the people who came to assist me. Brian and especially Lane. I’m very impressed, this company went above and beyond. Very personable, respectable, explained what they were doing and what I need to be doing, not only explained but showed me how I should be doing things and told me when and how often.
Always made sure to call and follow up about timing and verify if it was ok to come. Was very professional, had company uniforms, felt secure having someone I’ve never worked with in my home as a person who lives alone.
Great with my large dog, I didn’t have to put him up, they were very friendly with him.

Don’t use; spent four days trying to go over what and why work was needed only to get little to no answer/​response. Mis-​documented items and inventory as to what was needed, existed, new/​replacement. Told home warranty company they needed to add a new item when an existing one was already there, etc… In many cases home warranty said they would cover several items if they were replacements, but technician told them they were not and thus it was a «new install»; sad thing is technician and I both discussed said items while he was there and I specifically discussed them as well…
Furthermore, they were charging about 400% more for refrigerant than I could buy same refrigerant for anywhere else — labor isn’t that expensive. Sure, they only sell in large quantities and I would have a ton of extra refrigerant, but would end up costing about the same… Only thing I can think is they wanted me to pay for a whole container even though I was only going to need ¹⁄₆ of the package. It’s a non-​perishable they can use for other customers, why should I have to bear the entire cost?
Needless to say, I went with a different company but it cost me going 1.5 weeks longer than it should have without a/​c.

We noticed our thermostat, set at 74, was reading 77 on Sunday afternoon and by Monday afternoon it was up to 87. Fortunately, having anticipated a problem I had called our home warranty office early Monday morning and they told me to call Temprite. I then went to Unilocal and looked at the customer reviews and was largely impressed but also somewhat wary because of a few customer’s negative experiences.
I was a little bit put off when the Temprite number’s answering machine kicked in but couldn’t leave a message because the mailbox was full. I called again about 20 minutes later and got the same message and my mind remembered the Unilocal negative comments.
But I was pleasantly surprised/​encouraged when within an hour I got a call back from Sierra with Temprite. I gave her our information and was told that I’d get a call Tuesday morning between 7:30 — 8:00am, after Tuesday’s by ZIP Code schedule was set. At 7:52am, the call came and Brian told me one of their AC techs would be by between 11am-​2pm and call about a half-​half hour before as he was on his way. Not hearing anything, I called Temprite just after 2pm and left a message, again. I got a call back from Sierra at 2:18pm who would check with the tech. Two minutes later, she called back to tell me that Lane had been delayed at a previous job and would be calling me. Lane called just 15 minutes later, apologized and explained he’d been under a house longer than expected and would be here shortly. He arrived in about 10 – 15 minutes.
Lane first checked our inside «exchange unit (?)» and everything was in order. We then went outside to the AC unit and he immediately recognized that it wasn’t running. I hadn’t gone out to check as the fan was blowing air inside and «what did I know.» I know better now.
After fixing the problem and replacing the capacitor, which got the unit back up and running, Lane took time to explain what had happened and went over the specs and condition of our 14 yr. old, 4T RUUD unit. He explained what might happen in the future because our unit no longer meets EPA freon standards, what our repair options might be and mentioned Temprite’s annual maintenance contract in passing. We had moved to Austin just short of 3 years ago and, though we had had our AC serviced last year, hadn’t yet taken out a maintenance contract. I was sufficiently pleased with the prompt call backs, the explanations and service on both the personal and professional level that I took out a service contract.
While there were minor glitches (i.e. things didn’t run perfectly), over the years I’ve learned life is what happens when you’re making other plans. At the end of the day, Temprite earned five stars both because of their personal and professional expertise.

Just an update. One of our vents was blowing warm air. Contacted Temprite, Andrew came a day or two later and fixed the issue! Great response from them.

Would give out 0 stars if I could. Found out that their installation was faulty. They did not level out the pad causing water damage and electrical damage over garage. Also, they installed the evaporator coils incorrectly causing the system to freeze up and only time will tell what kind of equipment damage that caused. Spent over $ 800 to fix the evaporators coil and still waiting on an estimate to fix the water damage. I have no clue why these people have 4.5 stars. They clearly don’t deserve it.

I was prompted to call temprite by my HWA company after our AC went out. We needed a new evaporator coil and they denied our claim but I worked with Andrew and he was so polite and seemed extremely knowledgeable. We had issues with it not cooling a few times after the crew (not Andrew) came to install the new coil. Long story short-​Andrew came out multiple times after that to repair the issue including once in the late evening to make sure the job was done properly. I give Andrew FIVE stars for making sure we had a properly working AC after the job was started with temprite. He is the best!

My AC broke of all days on 4^th of July! Nate got out to my house ASAP because I’m working and my boyfriend works nights so we desperately need AC! He had the part replaced in minutes and was out of there! This will not be the last time I call him for sure. Thank you for responding so fast, on a national holiday and before heading out on vacation! Temprite rocks!!!

Temprite was sent out by my home warranty company to fix my air unit because it was not getting cool. Lane was our tech and he took care of business straight away. He said we needed an acid wash to the unit because of all the dirt and muck in it. He insisted that we go with him and look at what he was going to do. He also checked out the unit completely and gave us peace of mind that it will be fixed the right way. He also noticed that when the painters put the covers that direct the air flow back up it was done backwards and to change them out the proper way. All one can do is put your faith in the vendor not knowing whether it’s right or wrong until something else goes wrong then you feel like you have been screwed but in this case Temprite was the one who put the faith back in us. Very good company and would not hesitate to call again even with out the warranty company!

Temprite was sent out by my home warranty company. Andrew came out and quickly fixed the problem (a wire had come loose from the compressor and he had to install a new one). While here, he checked in attic and discovered some more issues. They were not covered by home warranty however.
The best thing I did was sign up for Temprite’s maintenance plan. It is about 125 per unit (I have 2). They come out twice a year and clean your outside unit, check freon levels, pressures etc. I had that appointment today. Lane and Carlos came out… I cannot say enough good things about these 2 guys. They are very knowledgable and polite. They let me hang out and watch everything they did and I asked a million questions. It was very late on Friday (almost 6pm) by the time they arrived (they said they would be there between 3−6pm). I felt bad for them and even offered to have them come out next week. They insisted on staying and got to work. My outside unit unfortunately sits next to the dryer exhaust and therefore the coils were COVERED in 3 inches of lint. They had to do a special acid wash, and it came out looking brand new. They cleaned both units and sucked out all the debris and leaves that had accumulated, they checked everything. They then proceeded to check everything in the attic on both units.
These guys are AWESOME. They don’t try to nickel and dime you. I had a great experience with Temprite and I’m going to recommend them to everyone I now. Lane and Carlos are the bomb-​diggity!!!

Terrible service! I’d give them no stars if I could! They’ve been out to the property 5 times less than a year it is summertime again and guess what? AC doesn’t work again! Call them and they’ll only be rude about having to schedule your appointment to fix the mess they were suppose to fix a year ago!

Temprite is amazing! Brian is so kind and patient. He answered all my questions about scheduling and issues with my home warranty. Carlos came out first to check out the situation. He was diligent in determining the source of the issue (a leak in the coil). Temprite was amazing at coordinating with my home warranty to give us an accurate quote. I’m talking to the penny exact. They installed the new parts (once our home warranty got the parts ordered) in no time. I appreciated how clean they left my house. I will never use another ac company ever. Everyone I talked to or worked with was incredibly kind, friendly, and patient. Temprite has a loyal, lifelong customer in me. Thanks guys!

So, when my evaporator coil went out on my A/​C, I called the home warranty company and they sent out Temprite. On the first visit Andrew diagnosed the problem and the home warranty company would only cover $ 719 of the cost ($ 1500 for JUST the evaporator coil replacement and recharge). So we opted to get the A/​C system replaced (3-​ton unit $ 5500).
After calling a few other places and getting some other quotes, I had found some better deals ($ 5100 for the same system, different company), but reading the Unilocal reviews I thought the extra ~$ 400 would be worth it for Temprite. Well, the day they came to do my A/​C another company showed up and started installing my A/​C (the Temprite rep hadn’t even shown up yet). When he arrived, Andrew assured me that this other company has the same install quality, and were not sub contracted, but that they and Temprite just work together sometimes. Andrew did not stay and help or supervise, he had other jobs to go to. If I wanted some other guys installing my A/​C, I would have saved $ 400 and went with some other guys. Andrew said he would come back the next day to do an inspection. It was four days later that he set up an appointment for that afternoon. He fixed some minor things and went on his way. He told me he would be in contact with my warranty information for the new unit, but it has been 2 weeks and I still have no warranty information.
The only reason I am giving two stars is because the A/​C works… for now at least.
I am very disappointed with Temprite as I feel I was duped.

Brian Powell is amazing! He was assigned to me by my home warranty company to give me a second opinion on a $ 2500.00 estimate another AC company gave me. He walked me through step by step everything he was doing and why. He saved me a $ 2500.00 mistake. They are my new AC/​Heating service company.

I was assigned Temprite by the home warranty company. Brian showed up on time and was super nice and helpful! He patiently answered my hundred questions (i am one of those that need to know everything that is going on) and gave me precious suggestions on how to make the best out of our A/​C!!! :-)

After six years of having our home warranty send out one company after another, no one could fix the issues we were having. Well, they sent out Temprite and we feel like it’s the first time someone knew what was going on. Our home warranty wasn’t able to pay out for everything that needed to be done, but that’s why nothing was every really getting repaired properly. WE HAVE AIR AND HEAT!!! our unit never got air conditioning to our bedroom, which was hell in the summer. our technician Andrew and others (sorry i don’t know their names) showed us everything that they did and it’s a freaking miracle! Lol! We’ve never been so satisfied with a service, and we highly recommend to save time and money and get the job done right by Temprite (new slogan :-)) thank you Temprite! see you for our routine maintenance. My home warranty co sent out Temprite to fix the broken A/​C (not a fun problem to have when it’s hot outside!). They diagnosed the problem very quickly and fixed it quickly too. Sadly it wasn’t a problem the warranty covered, but they were reasonable with their charges. Very nice to boot.
