Tapehead Electronics is a super place to go for all your stereo repairs. Ty and his team were beyond helpful and basically guided me through the process of getting a vintage stereo system and turntable. If you’re looking for a place where people are passionate about sound and their work, I highly recommend Tapehead Electronics. I’m really grateful to my pal for letting me know about these guys.

I visited Tapehead because I have a 72 pioneer receiver that needed a good cleaning and the bulbs needed replacing to restore it to its original gorgeous self. I live somewhat near Northloop and I like supporting the neighborhood. I can’t remember the guys name that I talked with when I walked in but he was really personable and that’s a plus for me. I was a little surprised with how much it cost and how much time would be needed but this was all new to me and I felt they were being honest. After picking it up we had a couple of issues still and had to take it in again but the staff at Tapehead was very helpful and took full responsibility for everything. It works and looks beautiful again. The guy I talked with even sent me to a great place to purchase a new needle and cartridge. I will definitely go there again and as a vinyl person the cost and wait were totally worth.

Awesome shop! Knowledgable and very friendly. You’ll find yourself drooling over their repair queue! I had a tape deck repaired with them, and old Kenwood top loader from the 70s. They did a superb job. They were honest up front, checked in with estimates, and waiting for the go ahead on the repair. Great communication overall! Thanks again!

Just picked up my tuner, and I’m highly pleased. This old unit is one that my dad bought in the late 70’s and has had over 35 years of steady use without many issues. So when it pooped out, I was faced with a decision: grab another amp or repair her. The guy at Tapehead (Forgive me for not getting your name!) was incredibly gracious and knowledgeable. You trust him immediately.
I’m pleased to say the old workhorse is rocking harder than ever. And I’ve got a 90 day warranty to ease my mind, to boot!

Took in my Pioneer SX 1050 (that I bought used on E-​bay) for evaluation and any required work. The guys at Tapehead were great to work with and I’m very satisfied with their work.
— The Shop — the waiting room and atmosphere are excellent. Relaxed atmosphere, clean, and comfortable. Doesn’t have that cluttered and weird vibe you often get from going to an electronics repair shop
— Pricing — the prices were reasonable and they didn’t try to «nickle and dime» you — or «find» other things that needed to be fixed
— Response — I had the initial analysis and bench test results 24 hours after dropping off my receiver. The total time my receiver was in the shop was 1 week.
— Technical expertise — My system sounds awesome! Super clean channels and performance that was better than I expected.
