I really enjoyed Sherlocks. I sat at the bar so I cannot comment on the food, but from what I experienced, I’d recommend this place to anyone in north Austin looking for a spot with cool folks and good beer. They have decent selection of beers on tap. Not the most but certainly not lacking anything. I mean, they had my fav Texas beer: fireman’s 4 so I was happy. I thought the bar folks were super attentive and nice. Brendan – the tattooed bartender – was super chill. He wasn’t obtrusive but always topped me off when I needed drink which is how I like my bartenders. Since I was at the bar, a lot of servers and a manager tended to congregate around the place where servers order drinks for their tables. It seemed like everyone was having a good time. The manager on duty was joking around and laughing with his staff. From what I could discern, the servers were on top of their tables. I like this place. There’s nothing anything special that’ll make it stand out but there’s nothing overly negative either. Because my bartenders were friendly, I bumped it up from 3 stars to 4. They had a live band that was meh but I appreciated that they brought folks out but it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

The staff work there are not friendly, and the manager is definitely a racist. I am Asian, my friend is African American. We went there on a Wednesday night to play pool. My friend had a few drinks and she was sober. After chatting with the white gentleman who was in the army, my friend got excited. Because she was in the army too. So they were having fun talking to each other, sometimes, when they talked about something interesting, my friend cheered a little bit loudly. They were in the middle of a conversation, and I was sitting there listening. The manger brought another white guy, came to us, and asked us to leave. I asked why, he just replied,“It is time to leave, you should take your friend home.” He wouldn’t give any other reason. And he didn’t ask the white army guy who was talking to my friend to leave… An educated person should never discriminate people because of their races. The exsistance of racism is a shame for a country like United States.

Do NOT come to this place! This restaurant is very unprofessional and not worth spending your money here.

Great Monday night stop! Fantastic burger on a delicious Hawaiian like bun. $ 3.99 special. Fries are yum! Tasted the London platter was super, cod and shrimp was very good, I’ll order that next time. Good service, cozy environment. Monday night is the way to go!

We have been here a few times. The Happy Hour goes until 9 and they have great specials. Sundays are all day Happy Hour. My husband enjoyed a couple strong $ 2 wells while I sipped on a local draft from the 512 brewing company that’s local here in Austin. We decided to share an appetizer sampler with the fish strips, zucchini fries, and spinach /artichoke dip. I recommend the fish. We do love the fish and chips platter and on Thursdays it’s $ 2 off. The zucchini fries are really delicious. Was not overly thrilled about the spinach/artichoke dip though. The waitress was very nice and attentive answering all our nagging questions. There was a slight mishap with our bill but the manager hooked us up. Great Happy Hour. Awesome drink specials. Nice wait staff and relaxing patio ambiance will keep us coming back. Bonus points that we can bring our dog too.

Last night was my first time here. Oh, I loved it! We had dinner and drinks and they were delicious and super good price. I ate the English hamburger that included a fried egg, with zucchini fires. Delish! DH had a steak with mashed potatoes which were amazingly good. 2 beers and 2 margaritas later, our bill(tax included) was $ 54. Cheap! After dinner, our friends and us moved to the pool table area, and Misty, our waitress, was awesome. She was very attentive, and made us feel right at home. We played darts for a while and then played pool. The prices were reasonable, and we had tons of fun. We didn’t get to see the band that was playing on the other room, but didn’t matter, as we were having so much fun! The ladies bathroom was clean and smelled nice. The bathroom attendant was super sweet and had candles burning that made it cozy. Yes, a cozy restaurant bathroom! LOL BTW, happy hour until 9 pm every day. That’s just awesome! We will be coming here more often. Definitely!

I love this place. It’s huge! Big Patio, game room with bar, Cozy room with booths and couches, music venue room. Something for everyone. So far 3 visits and the service has been really good. We’ve been there on a Friday night and could still have a conversation at dinner with only a slight elevation of voices. So kudos to the management for any sound deafening items they’ve done. The food’s pretty good too. I liked the fried zucchini, the Sheppard’s pie was good, although it was really super-hot and burned the roof of my mouth. I sure wished the waitress had warned me. But I rather it be too hot than cold. The hamburgers are pretty good, the Fish and chips are awesome. Both the potato ones and the plain. The only thing we didn’t like that we tried was the Bangers and Mash. None of us like the taste of the sausage.

Not impressed with the prices on beer. The food was ok for a bar. Two beers costed more than the food that we ordered. Not really impressed. Gave it a shot. Better places to go to get a bit to eat and a beer.

Ash Wednesday and wanted Fish and Chips. Went in and grabbed a table. Nice enough day to sit outside but people were smoking out there and wasn’t sure how fast the service would be out there. Ordered a half order as it has one 4 oz fish with chips. Came out hot and perfectly cooked. Service was spot on and friendly. Got in an out in less than a half hour for lunch! No complaints.

Nice outdoor patio. Very friendly bar staff and clientele. I just stopped in for a beer but I would come back with a group for dinner or drinks any time I’m in the area.

Love the 2 – 9 happy hour and the great dart board. Haven’t had a bad time yet. I will say the servers and bartenders are a little uptight, loosen up. But other than that the place is great. I haven’t had the food so don’t take this review based on food. And if you love darts, bring your own. Other than that, this places is relaxed and has great specials daily and at happy hour. I will certainly be back for more.

Eh. All I really have to say about this place. We didn’t eat so I can speak for the food. We were charged $ 18 for two Live Oak beers which seemed way too high but whatever. The only place this place even gets 3 stars is for the bathroom attendant Saturday night. She was hilarious and just super nice. I would maybe come back for happy hour if someone else wanted to come here but I probably would never suggest it.

Been here so many times. It’s a pretty standard British Pub concept. Beer selection is decent enough, they make a good long island but rail drinks are a rip off, the food is just okay — it’s not a bad place for happy hour or to hang at on a slow going Saturday night. Fun to come play pool, sit back on the patio, or catch live music. It’s actually pretty versatile. Not my favorite, but not bad either.

Sherlock’s is definitely one of those places where the company you’re with can make or break your feelings about the bar. Luckily for Sherlock’s, I only hang out with awesome people. The staff is hit or miss, the seating inside is a little cramped, and the dance hall can be overwhelmingly loud. However, if you’re with good friends, enjoying some drinks, and dancing to that night’s cover band(oh hey, Blue Finger Disco!), Sherlock’s can be one of the best places in North Austin! There’s a large patio area for outdoor seating, pool tables inside, tables for eating, and a separate large area with a small stage for cover bands. I’ve had the food a few times and its good but not great. However, as I said before, if you just want a low-key night out with friends, Sherlock’s may be the perfect place to go.

French fries: GOOD. Beer: GOOD. People watching: Good. Creepy«exotic» animal store in the same shopping center: Not Sherlock’s fault but still a minus. Bathrooms: Clean! Number of times I have been tased or assaulted by the police without probable cause or justification in this particular parking lot: ZERO. 2016 update: I raised it to 4 stars. I hope you’re all happy now.

Cool place. Great beer. Lots of different beers too. Good was great too. We got the queso, chips and hot sauce. Was really good. Buffalo wings were tasty too. We also got the nachos and potato skins. Both were good. Highly recommend the Fish and chips. They were awesome. Over all highly recommend.

Went to Sherlocks for lunch today. Eh, its okay. They have good happy hour prices. The mixed drinks aren’t so good, but you can’t really go wrong with beer. Fish & chips are good.
