Our services include commercial and residential rekeys, keys for homes, autos, motorcycles, airplanes, boats, and RVs, and lock repair and replacement. We have many old auto and motorcycle keys from the 60s and 70s. We even sell and repair safes.

Okay, people. Rarely do I come across a good olé honest business ran by good olé salt of the earth people. THIS is one of those establishments. Steven Sharp (I think his name was) talked me through unlocking a cash register over the phone… I mean I had been on the phone with locksmiths since the night before TRYING to find someone, anyone who would come help me out, without charging me $ 100+. It was a simple fix, he saved the day, and I owe this man a drink. I feel like ANY number of the locksmiths I called could’ve told me this one simple trick, but they were all more interested in milking money from a soul in distress. THANK YOU Mr. Sharp for your wonderfullness! Happy New Year to all of you guys at Sharp Brothers!

I called another Locksmith for my vintage Airstream and they couldn’t handle it. Then I called Sharp. Sharp handled all the locks quickly and for a reasonable price. I highly recommend them, especially if you need service for a travel trailer.

Great service, great people. I called 6 different Honda dealerships and not one could make a replacement key for my Honda Ruckus. I had about given up and accepted I was going to miss every class I had that day. No way was I about to walk to class I ain’t not geed!
Needles to say, sharps hooked it up for 20 bucks– 5 minutes after I called them.

Phil and the gang are great. They keyed every lock in our house down the street and are reasonable. Even coming over is not that much extra and they remember who you are. Sharps has just about every blank you can imagine. Catch their shop on the Al Pachino movie Manglehorn. They have keyed all my bars and home and are true original Austinites catch the movie they shot at their store with Al Pachino.

Moved into a house around the corner from Sharp’s and made an appointment for the following Wednesday to get the locks in the house changed. I stayed home from work and the people from Sharp’s said they were really booked up but would definitely be there sometime Wednesday.
Waited all day Wednesday, nobody came. Called around 4pm and they assured that someone would be there by he end of the day. Nothing. Called again and said that if nobody made it out then they would ABSOLUTELY get there first thing in the morning. Again, I live 0.25 miles from this place. Nobody showed up on Thursday.
Called again and made ANOTHER appointment — owner was apologetic and said he would make sure he is there tomorrow at noon. To his credit, it was pouring outside and he did show up, but I spent 2 days waiting, assured I had someone coming out to help me, and nothing happened. Not even a courtesy call that they weren’t going to be able to get to me.
I was pleased with the locks and they work very quickly — but I think they could have taken some $ off the bill or apologized for the unprofessional standards they hold to make appointments.
They are too convenient to use another locksmith but if you make an appointment, you might have to call 3−4x before someone actually shows up.

Hooray for this family owned business!
Mr. Sharp came right on time and installed a deadbolt on the master bedroom in my home. His handiwork is very neat and precise. The price was very reasonable… actually I called around and Sharp was the cheapest quote. Customer service was great too. I definitely recommend!

If you need a LEXUS Key this is the place to go.
Sharps is one of those hidden gems you can’t believe is still around. Conveniently located, near downtown.
I needed a replacement key for a Lexus ES 330 and the dealer wanted $ 89.
Sharps was less than $ 50 for the exact same thing.
The place may appear to be a little rough, but this is south Austin, not the Domain. Don’t let the exterior fool you. I dropped of my Key and they had it completed same afternoon.

After an 8hr shift over night I go to pick up my 2kiddos. While putting there bags in the trunk I snapped my car key in half. Oh and of course I didn’t have a spare. I took my 2pieces of key to Sharp’s Locksmith. Mr. Sharp put my 2pieces in his key machine& made me a duplicate. B4 charging me he gave it to me and allowed me to leave without paying first to go try it in my car to make sure it worked… And it did!!! I kept my word went back& bought 2keys from him. What a sweet gentleman he was/​is. I recommend Sharp’s to Everyone!!! Thank u Mr. Sharp for your amazing customer service!!!

Sharps deserves 6 stars. I was desperate for help with my ignition. I wasn’t able to turn my key at all to start my car. I called around to multiple places, some wouldnt offer help, some quoted me rediculous amounts, some told me I would have to wait until Mid-​January for service. But not Sharps. I left my car over the weekend to be fixed Monday morning. By 8 am, they were already working on it and called to let me know it was fixed by 11am. The best part was the price. Not only did they not charge me an arm and a leg, it was so cheap i felt like i stole from them. This is truely a local Austin company who cares about their customers and not their wallets. They truely are fantastic!

The big woman behind the counter was enough to make me run to Home Depot, and I hate Home Depot. Incredibly rude. Hey lady, making a key isn’t rocket science.
Not sure why there was 4 people working behind the counter either. I usually fully support local business, but not willing to deal with that woman again. I’ll gladly get keys made at Home Depot, at least they have somewhat decent customer service.

i needed my entrance door lock changed and a deadbolt installed and called this company because it is close to my condo at Barton Place in Austin. From the first contact call, with the owners wife, to the owner’s brother, who did the work– maybe he is co– owner? everything was top of the line! Professionial– showed up EXACTLY at appointed time– quick skilled work– and a bargain with charge!!! couldn’t ask for more–

Sharps is one of those hidden gems/​mom and pop shops you can’t believe is still around. Conveniently located, they have great customer service at a modest price. I have been coming here for all my lock and key needs for several years. I highly recommend them to all my neighbors in the ‘704!!!

I seldom write reviews but Sharp’s have really exceeded my expectations hence I feel compelled to let others know. I had a car key that broke in the ignition. Sharp’s accommodated my schedule, they quoted me over the phone but in the end charged me LESS (because my situation was simpler than what I described). Honesty, professionalism and customer care — cannot ask for more.
If you have a key problem — this is the team that you should be looking for.

What to do when you lose your only moped keys?! Come to Sharp’s.
There were quite a few obstacles leading me to believe I may have to completely replaced my ignition, but with the marvelous skills at Sharp’s, they were able to recreate my key and a copy for about $ 30. Customer service left me feeling a bit uneasy, but they did the job well.

I’ve used this place a few times. The shop is bare bones and kind of crowded but it works and I live off of South Congress so I go here for convenience. The cost of keys is very affordable. They lady there has always been nice to me.
Most recently, I lost my mailbox key :(It cost me $ 68 dollars to get a new one! Most expensive mistake ever! It took about 15 minutes for them to open up the box and refit the mailbox with a new lock. They were fine and I’m happy I can open up my mailbox again!
Just don’t ask them about using the square. they’re a little testy about it. oops! My mistake! Luckily, I didn’t ask until everything was said and done! They do accept CC, they just have to call it in which I don’t like…

I am a bit shocked by the reviews. After being denied key copying at Lowes (they didn’t have the right size key), I headed downtown to work hoping I would find a locksmith on the way. That’s when I came upon Sharp’s.
I walked in the door carrying my incredibly adorable and well-​behaved 8 month old and barely got a glance from the woman behind the desk. When she finally did acknowledge my existence, it was as though I had just ruined her day. I gave her my keys and watched as she spent a few minutes searching for a match. A man came from the back room and joined her in the search. That’s when the bickering began. She would point to a key and he gruffly told her it would or wouldn’t work.
She finally passed on my keys, telling him, very clearly, 4 keys. I had asked for 2 of each key, 4 total.
A few minutes passed and he appears at the counter with a ring full of keys…8 of them. Yes, 8. Ugh.
After the cold welcome, the bickering and doubling the number of keys, I paid for the 8 (still not sure why) and went on my way.
I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone.
