History
Established in 1995.
In a community where greasy food was ubiquitous, Mr. and Mrs. Tran (John’s parents) wanted to give a healthier option to hungry consumers. Providing a healthy alternative along with freshness and quality was their aspiration. And so they established the San Francisco Bakery & Café.
Mr. and Mrs. Tran served sandwiches using fresh baked bread made from scratch by their son, Thuan — who spent an extensive amount of time in San Francisco mastering the art of baking. Thuan’s brother, Phuong, shared the baking responsibilities by preparing pastries. Also served, were items like quiches and soups that were made with the touch of Mrs. Tran’s homemade recipes. Providing quality food was their ultimate desire; everything had to be made using only the finest and freshest ingredients available.

I’ve been in the restaurant business almost all my life. It means everything to me to give customers a great product that they’ll enjoy and then want to tell their friends about in turn. It’s really great to see familiar faces and to meet new ones that will hopefully become familiar, too.
