Rescue 1 Roadside

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE — WARNING! I have only written one Unilocal review in my life, to praise my vet for taking such great care of my dog. This one is a little different. This is a warning to anyone who needs roadside assistance and decides to call Rescue 1 in Austin. This afternoon I picked up my kids from school. About ½ mile down the road, I ran out of gas. First time this has ever happened to me. We are new to the area and I called Rescue 1 for roadside assistance. What I got was the meanest, most insulting experience of my life. The owner is the one who took my call. She told me it would be about 40 minutes since it was raining. I called her back and hour later (she was supposed to call me to keep me posted) and asked where her service car was — she rudely informed that that she had dispatched him 40 minutes ago and I would just have to wait. I informed her that it had now been an hour and 10 minutes. She yelled at me that I was wrong and I needed to listed. I was stranded on a very busy intersection with 2 small kids in the car in a brand new city and she was treating me like I was a bad person. She started yelling about how she was right and I was wrong and I needed to LISTEN. I yelled back that I was in a dangerous situation (it was going to be dark soon) and I needed her to tell me when my gas would be there. Then she screamed, «What would you think about me turning him (the Rescue 1 Driver) around and then you can just stay there for another hour or 2? «Does that sound fun?» «I can call and cancel him right now». I said a few words and hung up. She then proceeded to call me back on a private blocked number and tell me that if I would listen, she would not turn him around and leave me stranded there. I very nicely said, «please have him come». She told me that there was traffic up the road and he would be later. There was no traffic — I was right on the road. I was trapped and the intersection was getting busier and it was getting darker. At that point it had been and hour and 40 minutes. She then had her automated message call me 4 times in a row asking if my service was complete, if no, press 1 to talk to her. She owns the company and would be the one to send those messages. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. Please do not call them or have anyone you know use them. Thanks for reading.

«When the going gets tough RESCUE 1 ROADSIDE steps in!» I discovered the hard way last night who you can count on when «it» hits the fan. MICHAEL @ RESCUE1ROADSIDE got me out of an ugly situation when I had a tire blow out late night.
The 1^st crew dispatched by my insurance company took 45min to show up only to be told «hey lady — where’s your jack and lug nut wrench» REALLY! After getting a lecture about buying a used car he disappeared with his tail between his legs and didn’t even offer to wait until another dispatch arrived.
Luckily for me RESCUE1ROADSIDE was dispatched and arrived timely and discovered I had the tools in a hidden compartment, but came prepared just in case. «Comes with years & experience».
Michael, the service tech was polite, assuring and wouldn’t give up no matter what. When the lowering mechanism seemed frozen he worked until I thought his arms would give out and eventually won the battle with a torch wrench and sheer will power. He could have easily quit and walked away or said it won’t budge call a tow truck but he refused to give up knowing what I had been through and wanted to get me home since it was late night and unsafe.
BRAVO and Thank you for going the «EXTRA MILE» and treating me as you would a friend or loved one and not just a client. You deserve a big hug and the Gold wrench award for service. Thank your boss for hiring the RIGHT STUFF!
