Rainbow Vacuum Sales & Service- Galaxy 2000

I just visited this location to get a quote to fix my rainbow vacuum, which I love, I did not want to be sold a NEW vacuum and expressed this to them on my arrival. They took me into a back room and tried to sell me on it anyways. While the repair guy too a look at my vacuum, and told me my motor was blown. That is would cost 600 dollars to repair. The whole interaction with this company and staff felt terrible and not very helpful at all. I will not visit their shop again, even if I do decide to buy another Rainbow Vacuum.

Received a call that I had «won» a air purifier from the Home and garden show but was told I would need to hear a short demo before I could have the item I «won». I made an appointment and was told my husband would have to be present so I made sure that we set this time aside on a weekend in the middle of the day. The morning of the appointment I received a text to confirm the appointment I responded confirming but still because I did not pick up 10 minutes before the appointment they did not show up. I had invited people over to see the demo because I knew they would want names and numbers and didn’t feel comfortable giving out info on my friends and family. I called to find out about my appointment and was told I would have to reschedule because they called and no one picked up. If you make an appointment and it is confirmed that day, doesn’t that mean you should show up? Horrible way to do business if you don’t want to work just say so. I can only imagine how shady they would be had I decided to buy anything. SCAMMERS don’t even bother to answer their calls.

So… oddly, a full 15 MONTHS later (yes, months), the owner showed up at my house (unannounced) and apologizes for what happened and gave me an updated version of what I won. 15 months ago.
No hard sell, just mentioned they sold vacuums. He was very nice and the product IS very cool.
So, I award two more stars for this owner, who clearly takes business ethics seriously; even righting a very old wrong. That’s worth something; as is the product.

A now a story about a vacuum cleaner. You might need tissues depending on how many Wal-​Mart disposable Eurekas and Hoovers you’ve purchased over the years. Years ago, my mom bought a Rainbow vacuum. My dad threw a huge fit at the then 80’s price of $ 1200. For that sum, it came with a paint sprayer, mattress cleaner, carpet shampooer, and floor cleaner. The reason for this review is IT STILL WORKS. Coming up on 30 years and its been in for repair one time. An average of $ 40 a year ownership. Try that with you crappy Dirt Devil!
Enter Galaxy 2000, our local Rainbow distributor. New ones these days cost $ 2500 and they always want you to see the demo. Its cool and honesty if it lasts as long as mine its probably a good deal. But, not just yet. Mine still works just fine. I called to inquire about a part that had broken, the water basin. Its been 8 years since my last issue, I drive up IH-​35 to the shop and its gone. I called and was informed they had moved 6 years ago to the Anderson Mill and 183 area.
Another few minutes of driving and I arrive at the new location. Nice folks who sold me a new part for $ 53. Back home to happy vacuuming if there is such a thing. In a world of planned obsolescence, the Rainbow is made in ‘Merica and has my full endorsement as one of the best purchases my family has ever made. If your still on the fence, it has a 21 year warranty/​service plan on the new model. In time, I’ll probably be back in for a replacement; but this one has to die first. I’m confident it won’t be any time this decade.
