My second child is now at this school, and my first one had been there from ages 2 — 5 when he started Kindergarten. He’s advanced for his age academically and I attribute most of that to the learning environment here. The director is always on top of things and whenever one of the boys would miss a day I would get a phone call asking how he was. I would highly recommend this school, and have to a few of my friends. I feel comfortable leaving my child here and know he will be safe. I actually started my youngest at a spanish immersion school and my husband saw him on top of a big-kids/tall playscape with no direct supervision over 5′ in the air. Between that and him coming home bruised two days in a row on his head in multiple spots, we pulled him out and went back to Faith Montessori. I trust them. My now five year old misses his teachers and loves to go back to visit.

At first it seemed that all was great with this school. I like the philosophy of the Montessori method, but this is not what this school offers. My child was pushed around by the older kids in the class rather than educated and mentored by them, and that seems to be the norm. A 3 year old should not be in the same class as 5 year olds, especially when these 5 year olds aren’t being taught to help the younger kids, but instead do as they please. Observing the children in the playground showed that the teachers do not pay attention and that bullying is rampant. An older girl ran up to my child and grabbed the ball he was using then ran off, when my 3 year old complained the girl pushed his face into the pebbles and ran off. All within sight of the teachers, who did nothing. The school was closed for a week during spring break, but we still had to pay for the full month(no other daycare or school that we surveyed does this). The last straw was when my child came home with bruises and said his teacher gave them to him. We calmly inquired about this to the school management and we’re met with hostility and blame that my kid wasn’t telling the truth. I am fully aware that 3 year olds don’t have a firm grasp of reality and we did explain that we weren’t concerned, just following up since we didn’t receive an incident report. After that we received DAILY calls that our child was being disruptive and not listening(a behavior that appeared quite suddenly and miraculously only happens at school). Faith Montessori might be a school for you, they are one of the lowest priced schools in the area and they are in a good location, but the aloofness of the teachers and the inexperience and neglect of the management make this a poor choice overall. You get what you pay for.

My son goes to this school and he absolutely loves it from day one. I also know a lot of other children personally who go to faith. I like the curriculum and the activities they have for children. I feel good at the end of the day when my child returns home happy and is being taken care of. The director of the school is a wonderful lady and very approachable.
