R Todd Fisher

I relocated from Houston and needed a new barber. It’s always trial and error (getting your hair messed up a few times) trying to find a new go to spot. I was skeptical going to this place, thinking everyone was over hyping it. Booked an appointment to see what the high ratings were about. Sergio cut my hair and did a great job. He took the time to ask me questions and was meticulous with the cut. Definitely did not feel rushed, I will be back for sure.

Todd says he’s a perfectionist to a fault, but if you’re cutting hair the way he does it, you kind of need to be. He takes his time, every time. I’ve never seen anyone blend the sides of my hair by hand, and so meticulously.
If you are worried about not being able to style your hair every day as good as he does it, let him know and he’ll give you a little styling lesson.
Also, how has nobody mentioned the free whiskey? :)

This is the perfect barbershop. It’s a true men’s barbershop, but without all the bro bullshit that you find at chain barbershops. And they are very good at what they do. Sergio gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years. I’ll be going here for a long time.

I once loathed getting my haircut here in Austin. Seriously. I spent several years getting cuts that were ok, but I wasn’t completely happy about. I wouldn’t consider myself picky, but I had trouble finding someone who consistently got it right.
I’ve been going to Todd for over three years now, and I have never once come away with a cut I wasn’t happy with. He’s consistent, and has a fantastic eye for getting the cut right. Every time. In my own experience, there isn’t anyone else in town as good as Todd.
And besides giving you a good cut, he’s a funny guy who won’t bore you with mindless smalltalk.
Five stars is an insufficient score for Todd. Highly recommended!

When an appointment is available, my plans with my boyfriend are non-​existent.
My boyfriend has been to a few salons and Todd is the only one he raves about. His hair is wavy so it’s a bit more difficult to get the clean cut comb over look but somehow, Todd makes it happen.
As others have stated, book well in advance!
Note: Once you get hooked, there’s no turning back.

The best men’s haircut in Austin or Dallas! Sadly I’ve moved to Dallas but I schedule my haircuts with my visits to Austin so I can still have Todd cut my hair. He takes pride in what he does and it shows in every aspect.

There is not much about Todd that hasn’t already been said in the reviews before mine but I am must reiterate what has already been said. I have always wanted a haircut that looked professional and was able to recreate that look on a daily basis. In fact, that is exactly the guidance I gave Todd and he did not disappoint. He was a complete professional and took him time to give me the best haircut I have ever had in my 38 years of existence. Then he gave me step by step instruction on how to do my hair so that it would look great on a day to day basis. His complete operation is very professional, from the online booking, to not having to wait for your appointment to start, to the beverages that are served during the cut, the products he uses, just everything. Todd loves what he does and it shows every time I visit his place. I recommend him to anyone that will listen or asks about a great place to get a haircut.

I’ve tried my fair share of hairdressers and barbers here in Austin and while I have found some good ones, Todd is great. Perhaps it’s because he specializes in men’s hair, or that he stays on top of his game more than any barber/​stylist that I’ve met — he was recently out in LA for a week attending a hair conference. It’s obvious that Todd has a lot of pride in his craft and is a perfectionist.

) has online booking which makes scheduling a breeze. He recently added an eCommerce section to sell hair products; his site conveniently has free shipping in Austin.
While perhaps more pricey than your typical «Great Clips,» you’ll consistently get a great haircut and Todd also offers a free clean up. I’ve found that if I schedule a clean up around week 3 or so, I can get an extra week or two out of my haircut.
A heads up, Todd is in high demand here in Austin, so don’t procrastinate to book your haircut (like me) or else you might need to wait a week to get penciled into his schedule.

I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said. You don’t get this many 5 star reviews without having something special. Todd Fisher is the men’s hair maestro of Austin. I spent three months growing my untamed, curly hair out, and in one hour he gave me the best haircut I have ever received. Well worth the wait and money. In addition, he’s extremely personable and has an eye for detail that you won’t find anywhere else. I highly recommend him and will definitely be back!

I’ve been going to Bird’s for the last 7 years, and found it difficult to maintain a consistently good haircut. Stylists were constantly moving from store to store or quitting, or working on days when I couldn’t make it in. I never felt very confident going in that my hair was going to turn out the way I wanted.
Well, with my wedding coming up in a few months, I was motivated to go out and actually find a good stylist/​barber that I could keep coming back to month after month, and never have to worry about leaving dissatisfied.
It would appear I got it right on the first try. Enter Todd Fisher. I was really nervous going in because I had never gotten a real classic, Mad Men style men’s haircut before, and I knew that’s what Todd’s specialty was. He immediately made me feel at ease (after complimenting me on both my shirt and shoes, which is always nice, even for us dudes). I pretty much told him that my hair was in his hands, and we briefly talked about what I DIDN’T want. When he told me that I had the perfect hair for what he had in mind, I really trusted that he knew what he was doing, and I relaxed as he went to work.
I don’t think I’ve ever had someone cut my hair so meticulously and carefully. He took his time and made sure that every strand of hair was just so. He even took a couple seconds to trim my eyebrows. No one has EVER offered or bothered to trim my eyebrows. It’s the little things, you know? And that’s what a haircut experience with Todd is all about. You feel like he really cares about every little detail. I must say, i walked away with the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Period.
So, Todd is my new barber, and I don’t think I’ll ever darken Bird’s door (s) again.

A 5 star experience. I just moved to Austin from the San Francisco Bay Area (where I lived for 35 years). Saw all of the great reviews for Todd and felt I was dealing with a true professional that really knows his craft.
My haircut took almost an Hour and Todd was super meticulous and clearly has a Passion for what he does.

I travel the country for work and I’m in a different city every week so it’s hard finding a good haircut but I can tell you that Todd gives one of the best haircuts in the country. He listens to what you want and gives great tips on what will look good and how to keep it looking great until your next cut.

Todd is the best of the best when it comes to men’s haircuts in Austin. Being the son of a beautician, a gay male, and someone who truly prizes his blonde hair, I won’t let anyone else even get close to me with a pair of scissors anymore.
He does his booking online, which is the most convenient thing in the world, and the email reminders are great. I walked in and said «Do whatever you think will look good,» and he’s yet to disappoint me. Full endorsement from me.

This review has long been over due… by a couple months. After moving here a year ago it had taken me quite a long time to find the right fit of hair stylist. I had tried really cheap places and ridiculous over priced salons with no success.
Todd is meticulous with his clients’ hair as much as he is with his own. And if/​once you’ve seen his hair you know that’s real pride and passion to hair styling. :)

Hands down the best men’s haircut! I’m super metrosexual when it comes to my hair, and have been bouncing around numerous hair salons looking for a haircut that keeps me coming back. Look no further men, Todd is amazing at what he does! I sat down, briefly told him how i like to style my hair, and how i’d like my haircut. Boom, minutes later I’m constantly yapping on about how much I love my new haircut. His attention on every strand of hair is impeccable. His haircut is perfection at its finest. He has a nice sense of humor, and a very welcoming hair stylist.

As fortune would have it, I landed a job back in Austin, and I’m once again going to Todd for all my hair-​styling needs. The man is an artist, and his new location at Peacock Salon surrounds him with amazing talent. From the moment I enter Peacock, I feel loved (e.g., free beer– and I’m not talking about Miller Lite, I’m talking about Modelo and shit). When the time comes, Todd always emerges with his immaculate salt-​and-​pepper hair, smiling and greeting me as somebody who truly enjoys what they do would. And then he does his magic.

Todd has been taking care of my haircut needs since I moved to Austin almost three years ago. He just moved and you need to use the online form to make appointments. It was awkward using this at first, but it is what works best.
I just go in and tell him to cut it however he wants. It always looks good and each time it is a little different. You can tell he keeps up on trends and technique.

I have been a client of Todd’s for about 6 months, I visit him every other week. Moving to Austin last year I was in search of a great Men’s haircut; Todd delivers every time.
