I’m very happy with our experience with Precision Heating and Air. We had a great sales experience with Gary. He was in touch with us through the entire process, even coming out during the installation to make sure that we were satisfied and happy. Our installers, Joel and Shawn, were polite and professional.
These guys do a quality job. I had quotes from other companies that were a bit lower, but Precision Heating and Air won me over with their people and their service. I do not regret it, and intend to be a repeat customer.

I got several bids to replace my entire HVAC system, and went with these guys despite them being over $ 1,000 more than the other bids. Why? I was more impressed with the time they spent during the visit to give the estimate. They spent time looking over everything, taking covers off, taking measurements, etc, while the other two companies were here and gone in 10 minutes. They asked me at least a half-​dozen questions about how I used the system, what I was looking for in a new system, etc. I felt like they really understood the scope of work (getting it to fit in my attic, for one thing), and their bid included a few things that others apparently like to leave out and charge you for later (filter boxes for example).
They were able to get to us quickly also, which was a plus.
Finally, the installers –Joel, James, and Shawn — were very courteous and professional on the job. They covered all the floors, didn’t dent or scratch anything (tough to do when you are moving a big old hunk of metal out of the attic), and cleaned up pretty well afterwards. They were here for a solid 12 hours due to a complex install, and they were working the whole time. I thought they did a fantastic job, and my new system is humming along just fine two weeks later. New Year’s Eve the furnace quit. Called in the morning and they had someone out to repair it in two hours.
Replaced the igniter and was done in less than an hour. Polite and courteous. As well as the lady who took my call.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

German Aguila came out Saturday to help me out with my furnace. Great and knowledgeable guy. He’s also done the maintenance on the system.

We got a new heating & air unit over the summer. Had 3 companies come out & give an estimate, Precision gave us the best deal.
After installation, we had to call them out twice, as we were still having issues w one room in our home not cooling as much as the rest of the house. They always came right out at no extra charge.
All the techs have been extremely professional & knowledgable. I feel we finally resolved our issue today. The tech, James Prophit, installed an additional vent direct from the source. He was courteous, worked fast, & didn’t leave so much as a spec of dust in his work area.
Highly recommend these guys!

A/​C went out last night, I’m glad it at least waited til the cool weather began to roll in. My wife contacted Christianson Brothers first as we’ve used them for other stuff before and they were the ones who actually installed the unit. It was after hours so we knew someone was going to have to call us back. After about a half hour she also ended up calling Precision since we hadn’t heard from anyone. Precision got back to us before Christianson Brothers ever did. I talked to German on the phone and explained what was going on. He was able to give me a couple scenarios on the spot, I was impressed, he seemed like he knew what was up.
So we had him come out, only took about 45 min (we’re technically outside the service area) he diagnosed the problem and it ended up being one of the two scenarios he previously suggested (fan motor went bad). We’re under warranty so it’s not as bad as it could have been.
German was polite, professional, down to earth, good teeth, everything you want in an A/​C technician. We will definitely keep his card on hand.

He thoroughly explained everything he was doing in order to help me understand the technical aspects of my A/​C heating system. BRAVO. Con: Part price was a little steep (however, part/​labor does have a 1 year warranty)
I contacted Precision Heating & Air after my A/​C wasn’t cooling my house down. Toni was very nice and polite on the phone and helped coordinate getting a technician to my house. German, the technician, called me when he was on his way (called within about 10 minutes of me talking with Toni). German was nice on the phone and gave me an approximate arrival time. German arrived when he said he was going to and I was greeted with a smile and a handshake.
German diagnosed the problem and gave me a quote. This company waives the $ 75 diagnostic fee if repairs are completed (unlike 2 other companies that told me that the diagnostic fee would not be waived even if repairs are done). Base on the fee being waived, the warranty for the part/​labor and my inexperience in A/​C repair I had German fix the problem (dual capacitor). Thanks, German.
Shortly after service was done, I was contacted by the owner of the company about my experience. This goes to show that management truly cares about their customers and their experiences.

I contacted Precision Heating & Air after having some issues with another large company that was seriously mismanaged and had issues with scheduled appointments. Not so with Precision. I’ve had Precision at my house twice now for my yearly maintenance visits and I am very pleased. These guys are both friendly and extremely knowledgeable and they actually show up on their scheduled times. I also feel that they are being honest and I do trust them. You’re always weary about being sold on stuff you don’t really need, but these guys actually do seem to be focused on customer satisfaction and a long time business relationship, and that is clearly number one in most peoples book. The minute I smell a salesman, I’m gone!
Another thing I find crucial is that this company makes sure their employees are always on top of technology and the latest certifications. They are Carrier certified which is a also BIG plus for me. I need someone who has the knowledge to be able to quickly and efficiently diagnose any potential issues, so being up to date with the proper education is very important to me. Lots of great one man good ol’ boys out there, and many of them do nice work and are good honest people. But in the end, you need a company that has the resources to take care of your every need and who are equipped with modern tools, so that’s another good reason to call Precision. So far, I’m happy with my choice and I did sign up for their yearly maintenance agreement.

Can’t recommend them highly enough. My girlfriend’s A/​C was just not getting it done and she asked me to help make sure she they did not take advantage of her.
One call to Precision and in rode Gary Hunt in his F-​150 with Precision written all over it. Not only was he good natured, relaxed and professional, he had an air of expertise that allowed me to drop any skepticism that he was just trying to sell an HVAC system. It was clear that this was not a sales pitch; it was a real pro listening to us, getting to know what we wanted, and what we could afford. He never pushed us: he listened and then answered our questions.
I have an engineering degree and work in a technical field, yet he was able to explain what was going on in terms that satisfied me as well as terms that my girlfriend could understand. When he left she said «what do you think? I really liked him and hope you did too», and I did.
At any rate, all of our options were laid out in a clear and concise fashion. Never once did I feel pressured for some unnecessary up-​sell, or that possibly I wasn’t getting exactly what my girlfriend wanted and needed.
The employees who did the work (Armando, I think) were respectful and knowledgeable. They were so prepared that they would not even accept water from us as they brought their own (actually, I saw Gary with an ice chest of Gatorade for them which I thought was great.) Additionally, they left no trace that they were even there in the first place. Love it! So many contractors feel like clean-​up is not their job. Gary stopped by twice while the Precision guys were putting the equipment in and he even came back by, in person, a few days after the work was done to ensure we were 100% happy. We invited him in and over coffee told him personally how happy we were with both him and all the folks at Precision. All he asked was «please tell your friends that we really care about doing right by every customer.»; so here you go Gary!

AC problems suck. AC problems in August in Austin REALLY suck. After a quick Unilocal search, I called precision heating and air and received a call back pretty quickly. Al from Precision heating was out at my place in no time and was very friendly, professional and efficient. He was really knowledgeable and quickly located the problem. He even took the time to show me what was wrong and how to prevent it from happening again. I was very impressed with the service and the price was reasonable, too. A+!

When I’m making a major purchase, such as an AC, I like to have three things.
1. No BS
2. A fair price
3. A company with a proven track record
Precision Heating & Air was able to deliver all of these things.
The AC at our rental house gave up the ghost after 21 years of service. We saw it coming and had already done some research before it finally died. After the funeral we called up 4 HVAC companies to come quote the job. Gary Hunt showed up on time and gave it to me straight. We went over my concerns and requirements and he bid for 3 different units. Gary is a great guy, a retired mechanical engineer who knows all the ends and outs of HVAC, as well as a really nice guy.
Over the course of the bidding process, Gary and I exchange several emails. In one reply he wrote:
«I can guarantee two things: a.) Precision will not be the least expensive but b.) no one, and I can say that without any hesitation, will deliver the installation and follow-​up Precision will for the home.»
That was indeed the case. Precision was the front runner but more expensive. I shared the bid with Gary and he not only beat it but also included a kick starter feature on the system that will help with the longevity of the system and reduce future service calls.
The job was done two days after the bid. The crew were friendly and professional and got everything done as promised.

Recently, Precision Heating and Air put a new system in my home. While they were not the least expensive, Precision was far more professional than any of the other companies (many which advertise on the radio all day long about how great they are.)
From the person who took my call, to the final installation of the unit everything was absolutely flawless. What sold us on Precision was our Comfort Advisor Gary; Gary was fantastic. He talked to us in a way that allowed us to understand everything about an air conditioners and heaters, he took his time, never rushed us and even answered a million questions my husband sent him after Gary had left.
Best of all was that Gary did not pressure us ever to make a decision. He said this is a major purchase and you deserve as much time as you need to make a decision because you will not be buying another unit for 12 – 15 years. Gary was great.
I was expecting a salesman but got a real, relaxed professional.

Joe from Precision Heating contacted me immediately after seeing my sub-​par experience and offered to make things right and remedy the situation. He went above and beyond in clarifying and apologizing for our AC woes and is obviously very committed to maintaining an excellent service reputation. I appreciate this alot. While having your AC go out during a heat wave stinks, its nice to know that Precision stands by their reputation.

Precision was very professional, stress free, and over all just really easy to deal with! Ps we had originally been quoted $ 18,000 with another company, and Precisions quote was $ 11,000! This is why we love yall.

90 degree weather is pretty mild for Austin, but it doesn’t make it any more pleasant. So when our A/​C started leaking one Saturday morning, we combed Angie’s list and Unilocal for a reputable repair-​guy. Chris from Precision Heating & Air was in our home by noon examining the problem, and we thought the issue was resolved by the time he left. Unfortunately, the leaking continued.
Chris came back later that afternoon and delivered the bad news: He’d taken it as far as he could, and our A/​C needed to be replaced. Normally we’d be skeptical about this type of news, but we were aware that our A/​C was on its last legs.
The sales rep, Gary, came to our home the next day (a Sunday!) and got us scheduled for a replacement that week. Mando and Adrian arrived on time and did an excellent job.
Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed to enjoy their jobs. They had great things to say about their employer, and that means a lot! So while you might be able to find a slightly better deal somewhere else, you can trust Precision Heating & Air to treat its employees well and deliver an important service at a fair price.

Nothing like having your A/​C go out in a central Texas summer. Precision Heating and Air to the rescue. They came out the next day and diagnosed the issue (dead compressor) and then a lovely man came by to give us the bad news about the cost of a new unit. It’s could be hard to write a glowing review when someone comes to tell you that you’ll need to fork over more than $ 5k to get a new unit, but the folks at Precision were very honest about our options and didn’t try to upsell us what we didn’t need.
Once we decided on the system, their technicians came and installed it the next week. Thankfully, we had a functioning upstairs unit and didn’t suffer too much. The two techs were courteous and efficient. They completed the removal and installation of the new unit in a few hours, installed some CO detectors and cleaned up. No, it wasn’t fun having to buy a new AC unit, but I am enjoying the cool comfort of my quiet, new, energy efficient unit.

Our AC went out on a Thursday evening and after looking at it ourselves, we knew that we needed a professional. After calling multiple companies on Friday morning, Precision was the only one who was able to make it out that day.
They were extremely courteous and helpful over the phone and gave us a five hour window for when the technician would arrive. We also got a call half an hour before the technician got here from the main dispatch office.
Chris, the technician, looked it over and within 30 minutes he had assessed the problem and repaired both the part that had failed and another part that looked like it was going to go any day now. He was friendly and efficient.
They were also more affordable than other companies that I had read about online. A replacement of the same part by Radiant was over $ 100 more.
Right now ice cold air is blowing out of the AC, and we couldn’t be happier.

*Professional — Knowledgable — Honest*
We called Percussion around 6pm on a Saturday (this evening) and was greeted by a very nice individual who took the time to listen to my A/​C issue and stated that even though this time of year was quite busy, that my emergency situation would be treated as such. There were a few homes ahead of mine, but we received regular calls to let me know the status and that they would be heading out as soon as they could.
Around 9pm Derek from Precision arrived — pretty great timing as we were just wrapping up a visit at a friends house. Within about 5 minutes he had identified the issue as being a blown capacitors, had it fixed and the A/​C up and running within another 10 minutes. It was amazing! He replaced the old part with a new, Made in America, quality part — showing us both parts and explaining the process as he went through it.
The price was fair and the service was excellent — Derek was professional, knowledgeable and efficient … He completely saved our night!

The Precision guys are great! They’re always polite, show me or explain to me what’s going on, and stay until I’ve got cool air blowing to make sure I’m set before leaving.
I found them a few years ago during a very hot summer day when my system went out. They were the only company able to come out within an hour, not to mention the great reviews. Since then they’ve lived up to that first experience and even surpassed it. Thanks Precision!
