Muffin Muffler

Drove from Killeen to get exhaust work done to my 2015 Honda Accord V6. A local shop here in Killeen made me feel like they didn’t want to help me because I had a Honda instead of truck or a Mustang. The guys at Muffin Muffler are professional, reasonably priced, and treat you like family. They are a rare breed and I couldn’t be happier that I got my exhaust done there.

I’m so happy I found this place. Initially I went in thinking I needed to just replace my catylitic converter. Then Tom informed me of a flex leak my car had and even took me to see the problem for myself. I was willing to have to pay for all of the work that needed to be done, but then he recommened I wait on the catytic converter because the entire problem could just be due to that leak in the exhaust. I drove off not hearing the awful sound my car had been making for a while and feeling really good about finding out about this place. These guys genuinely care about doing the job right and providing the best possible service for a very affordable price.

There is a reason this place has great reviews. Honest, quick and quality work every time. These guys have tons of knowledge and always offer expert advice and respectful service. I highly recommend supporting your local business. Absolutely exceptional work.

I showed up at 4pm and was greeted promptly by Rowdy. I told him the sound and look I wanted out of a new exhaust system. Within a hour and a half I was back on the road with exactly what I wanted. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work.

They worked on my old van (95 chevy Astro. no AC or heat, most windows and doors dont work. its a rolling storage shed but the powertrain is good) about a year ago. It failed inspection due to a a fume leak, so I went to the best muffler place in town. They were fast, and the cost was exactly the excellent price they gave me to start with.

Brought my car in for an installation for an axle back exhaust system, and they did a phenomenal job! Will be back and will recommend for sure!

I cannot believe how GREAT this company is! I read all the reviews, spoke to Troy on the phone, believed what I read. They are no nonsense company and the service could not have been any better. If anyone has a problem with their muffler etc…, THIS IS THE GO TO PLACE

WOW!!! Troy and his crew at Muffin Mufflers are awesome! I stopped in first thing this morning to get a Flowmaster for my new Tundra. They had me out of there in less than an hour and I have NEVER been to a more friendly repair shop. This is my first Unilocal review and had to create an account just to say what a great experience I had with Muffin!!!

Stopped in first thing this morning and Tom was there with a welcoming smile on his face. I explained to him the custom exhaust setups that I’ve had in the past and what my goal was with my new truck. He spent the time to go over a few options and showed me the products available. When I asked the price I was thrilled. It was nice and right in line with what I expected. He took the time once again doing the work and made sure everything lined up perfectly, measuring multiple times and tweaking things as needed. Once done I was very happy with the results. Great shop, and great guys.

Second time using them. They are pickier than I would be with my car, and that is great. I do a lot of work on my cars, but I’ve learned over the years that exhausts systems are part craft but also an art, kind of like making BBQ. I won’t touch a new exhaust now, because I know ill get a rattle, or the system will be sent with the wrong parts (they always are). I know these guys will take the time to adjust it and do this properly.
If you aren’t a car person like me, you can trust there’s no hustle here. Just good work.

Troy is great. I had an aftermarket exhaust (installed by a friend) that didn’t fit quite right and they were able to get the system tweaked and rattle free in very little time and for a very fair price.

This place is excellent. As the others who wrote before me, I felt I could actually trust them to get me a fair deal and provide quality service. Troy got me exactly what I needed and did not oversell me.
I called in and he said to swing on by. He immediately hooked my car uo to the ODB and provided me a read out. It was consistent with my prior suspicions. The part I liked best, is that he did not ask me to drop it off to simply get the ODB reading. Most places do that and it’s infuriating. Troy made it easy.
He also informed me that I should get a tune up too as to not destroy my new catalytic converter-​good advice. He referred me to Yost for the tune up work. Troy shuttled my car over to Yost to make things easy for me. By the way, Yost did quality work too.
Finally, my Nissan Pathfinder purrs like a kitten. I’m a happy customer!

Honest, friendly, detailed guys who know their stuff and do excellent work at a great price. They had my new catalytic converter installed and exhaust pipe repaired within an hour. I highly recommend them.

These guys are great. I am always strapped for cash and in a hurry, and they were able to give me the best price on a catalytic converter, and I was in and out of there in a little over an hour.
Now my car is street legal! Whoop!

I had them install a Fast Intentions Catback Exhaust system on my 370z. The people were very friendly and completed the installation to my satisfactoin. The quote I received on the phone is what I paid. I’m picky when it comes to my car. I really liked the transparency. If there was something out of the ordinary they would let me know about it and ask my opinion before doing anything. This happened because a couple heat shields needed to be bent and some bracketing removed for the new CBE.
I would recommend this place to a friend.

I was browsing my account here on Unilocal and realized that my original review was never posted so here we go.
Troy and the guys at Muffin are what mechanics should be. Helpful, willing to go the extra mile to help and knowledgeable. They took care of both my vehicles when I was new to Austin by doing the work they needed to and referring me to some amazing mechanics for the stuff they didn’t.
It helps that Troy is an amazing businessman with an eye for making customers for life instead of a quick buck. I’ve referred all my family and friends to his shop if they have needs that Muffin can take care of. Seriously, best experience at a mechanic I’ve ever had.

Troy and Tom are great guys. I was referred to them by my amazing mechanic — Joe at Flamingo Automotive. They took a quick look at my exhaust system and decided a patch was the best fit — which to me was great news because it saved me a couple hundred dollars than if I had to replace it. I was able to get here after work and they completed the work in less than 30 minutes.

I took my Honda Accord into Howdy Honda, they diagnosed it as a new catalytic converter for $ 1,000.
I declined the offer, thinking I would take it to Don’s Automotive on South First. Don referred me to Muffin Muffler.
Troy diagnosed it as an oxygen censor, a $ 150 part on the catalytic converter. Plus $ 75 labor. After installation I got my car inspected no problem.
Do the math: don’t go to the dealer, see Troy.

6. 10:00am on the dot, King Troy calls back reporting Veteran is in tip-​top and ready to roll. He accepts your compensation over the phone and describes how you can pick up your Veteran’s heart key after shop hours tonight.
7. Kickass Friend gives you a ride there, you ignite and Veteran no longer terrorizes the neighborhood kids.
8. So, who’s up for a lemon poppy seed muffin? No really, let’s go.
