Business Owner

Dr. Moossy is a native texan. Received his undergraduate degree at St. Edwards University in Austin. He has since gone on to attain his DDS at University of Texas dental branch in Houston. Dr. Moossy currently maintains a private practice in Austin Texas and has been in practice for 14 years. He is a member of the ADA, AGD, TDA, CADS.

In the past he has taken care of 2 orphanages in Mexico and hopes to take advantage of more opportunities in the future to help underprivelidge children in other countries as well as donate time taking care of our own underprivelidged.

When not working Dr. Moossy enjoys taking continuing education courses, mountain biking, pilates, working out, traveling, spending time with his family and enjoying the many things that this great city has to offer such as the parks, downtown scene, and the arts.

Dr. Moossy was recommended to me by his mentor, Dr. Rouse in San Antonio.
Dental experiences before Dr. Moossy have been horrendous. The last time I got my teeth cleaned, in Seattle, I ended up with bruised hands from gripping the arm-​rests so hard for three hours. My anxiety levels were off the charts. To say the least, I was so full of nerves and anxiety when I walked into Dr. Moossy’s office. My teeth are so sensitive and honestly they needed some work.
I was instantly put at ease when I met Joanna. She took care of my insurance and paperwork and they were so friendly. The office itself is very relaxing and soothing.
It turns out that my teeth were a bit of a mess and I needed four teeth taken care of with fillings. Also, the last cleaning I got was less than stellar. Dr. Moossy was able to take care of my teeth, and clean them better in a very expedient manner.
Dr. Moossy took before and after pictures and even emailed me them!
My teeth look and feel great. I’m actually looking forward to getting my teeth cleaned in 6 months. I’m looking forward to much less anxiety.

Great staff that makes going to the dentist actually fun. In the past I’ve always been scared that the dentist is going to yell at me for never flossing or brushing in the right way. Dr. Moossy is a super nice guy, and he will humor you into brushing like a boss. Not to mention he has all kinds of «Batman-​esque» high-​tech dentist tools that make you feel as though you’re in an action film. All class, class, class! Going to the dentist is fun, again (for the first time?)! Highly recommend this place for getting your teeth in tip top shape.

Dr. Moossy has the best staff of any dental office I have ever been to. They are friendly and very knowledgable. My teeth are very thankful for them! The ladies at the front are the nicest and most accommodating ladies ever. The do a fantastic job at cleaning my teeth and fixing any problems that have ever come up.

I would like to start out by saying this is my first time leaving a review. I LOVE DR MOOSSY AND HIS STAFF!!! I’m a 52 year old black female, new to Austin. I looked up Dentist in Unilocal,called 4 of them. His staff was so sweet and helpful, they looked up my info for me. I decided to go with him. I have never been so impressed in my life! Dr Moossy worked thru lunch and breaks to get my tooth right! Then he did something I’ve never heard another Dr do… I had ran out of insurance and he said don’t worry about the MONEY now, fixing my tooth was more important!!! I could go on and on, but there’s not enough space. I feel like they are friends! All of them! Greatness trickles down!

When I chipped my front tooth I went to a dark place in my mind. I felt as though I had become a monster. A cross between the Beast from «Beauty and the Beast» and Lloyd from «Dumb & Dumber»… an unloveable freak who would be relegated to living out the rest of his days in a secluded cabin, muttering gibberish about the government while the hunch in my spine grew deeper year after year.
My fears were quickly assuaged as soon as I walked into Dr. Moossy’s office. The décor was impeccable. Every door handle was that fancy brushed aluminum kind. «This is a safe place» I thought as I filled out my new patient forms.
From start to finish, Dr. Moossy and his staff were phenomenal. He quickly fixed my freak tooth and crafted it into a beautiful butterfly once more. He somehow managed to do this while being super friendly and ruggedly handsome at the same time. I have a very discerning eye and I cannot tell where the tooth was chipped anymore, which is better than I hoped or expected. I walked out of the office with a new lease on life… standing tall, speaking clearly, and unafraid to smile at strangers. Thanks to everyone here for the great work they do!

Dr. Moossy and his staff are highly skilled and completely professional. The atmosphere is so calming. Everyone in the office, including Dr. Moossy are absolutely approachable. I will not be changing dentists. I have been a patient for many many years, along with the husband and children. I was in need of a new dentist, so I looked to Unilocal to find one. Dr. Moossy had such great reviews, and now I know they are well-​deserved! He and his staff have found a way to be both professional and laid-​back — a great combination. They made me feel like I was in the capable hands of old friends. I’m not going to say that I LOVE going to the dentist, let’s be real… but if you MUST go (and you should– don’t be gross), definitely go here!
I went to see Dr. Moossy about 3 months ago for a general cleaning & was back today to fill a cavity (or 3). Both visits have been fantastic!
The staff is so sweet and helpful– they’ll even bring you a blanket if you get cold :)
Dr. Moossy is super funny and made me feel completely at ease (well, as at ease as I could be) while drilling my mouth.
The office is clean and modern AND TacoDeli is next door!
(I did have to wait an hour for the Novocain to wear off to eat my cowboy taco… patience is a virtue…)

Ive had many dental operations done over the years but have never been as happy as I am with Moossy Dental! I had two teeth filled that were losing filings and on the verge of being lost. Dr. Moossy was very professional and efficient. Having two fillings done in the past had taken several hours but this time I was in and out in one hour and they look amazing! Their staff is so friendly and professional. I highly recommend them!

I am writing this with teeth so clean they feel slimy (well, you know what I mean). After searching and searching for a new dentist in Austin, I found Moossy Dental. My previous dentist, Bridgeview, was much too far from away and the ridiculous two visit policy was what ultimately lead me astray. However, they really knew how to clean a gal’s chops and that I have missed sorely.
I specifically wanted to find a hygienist who cleans using a waterpik… it makes all the difference in the world! I happily report that Michelle really knows her stuff and I highly recommend her and the rest of the Dr. Moossy crew. Bekah is sweet as can be, the gal at checkout (guh, forgot to ask her name) is very helpful, Michelle will even let you pick your favorite flavor for «buffing» and Dr. Moossy is great at education and explanation. The Office is centrally located and modern.
If you need a new dentist– look no further. You’ll love them too.

I was referred to Dr. Moossy by a coworker and friend this past week. I have never had a Great experience at a dentist office ever. This first experience was AMAZING!!! Joanna and Bekah at the front desk were very friendly in setting up my appointment and helping me figure out my options on services needed. The office made me feel at home and I got right in without having to sit around and wait for 30 – 45 minutes. Dr. Moossy was very nice. I’m very thankful to have found this place and I almost left in tears of JOY. If you are looking for a new dentist or changing, this is the place to be. Thanks You again to everyone at this office!!!

I find my visits to the Moossy General and Cosmetic Dentistry the most pleasurable of any dentist visits in my life. The staff is so friendly and are always able to facilitate my emergency needs no matter where I am. This summer I was in Southampton with a crown that came loose and caused an infection, and had a antibiotic prescription called in within hours. What a relief to know they were there to help. I was also able to get an immediate appointment upon my arrival back to Austin. Michael has amassed a fantastic group of individuals, headed up by the «Make the client the most important person at hand, as guided by him at each visit. His install of a full set of upper crowns in my mouth that keep me smiling at all times and they have received great reviews by all my friends. Love Michael and his staff and I highly recommend them. Friendly, motivated and a loving environment.

I haven’t been to a dentist in… well, the number of years is too embarrassing to mention, but I was referred by a friend to visit Dr. Moossy’s office. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere. The waiting area is very chill and relaxed and beautiful. The ladies at the front desk are extremely polite. The dental assistants did their very best to make sure that I was calm.
I really can’t say enough about how pleasant Dr. Moossy’s staff truly is. Everyone is so professional and so down to earth.
I went in to get some cavities filled and after years of dreading the needle, I can honestly say, I didn’t feel a thing…(while He was administering the anesthesia)
His dental assistant knew exactly what to do, what to hand him… and everything was very smooth. It reminded me of a Olympic Sprint Relay Team… quick, but very smooth hand-​offs. LOL
Dr. Moossy is one of the coolest dentists I’ve ever encountered. I didn’t know what or WHO to expect upon visiting his office. He is very honest and upfront about what’s going on in your mouth and what needs to be done.
He helped me get over my dental fears. If you want quality dental care and a PERSONABLE experience, go see Dr. Moossy.

Dr. Moossy and his staff are, by far, the best dental team I’ve had.
His staff is professional, polite, and knowledgeable. My hygienist, Michelle, was excellent. I’ve had a problem with rough hygienists in the past, but I could barely feel Michelle hard at work. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and she explained various options for an electric toothbrush and further oral care without pressuring me to buy anything at that moment.
Dr. Moossy himself is a charismatic and intelligent man. He used a model skull to explain the changes I’ve experienced in my teeth to ensure my understanding. He’s an expert in his field, and he’s great at communicating with his staff and patients.
Their office is also prompt with insurance reimbursements, which anyone on a tight budget can appreciate.
No one really enjoys strangers messing around with their teeth, but Dr. Moossy and his team made me feel completely at home and more than satisfied with the experience. If you’re a nervous dentist goer, you won’t regret visiting this dentist.

I’d been meaning to switch to Dr. Moossy for a while now, because he donated several items to a fundraising event I hosted in town last year. That fact alone makes me appreciate the Moossy Dentistry team — they’re very involved in the Austin community, and are always willing to donate to some very important events/​causes.
On to my office visit — it was fantastic! The office is gorgeous, it’s in a great Central location (next to several yummy food joints if you need to grab lunch afterwards). The girls working the front desk were super-​polite. I’m pretty sure they were playing the Temper Trap Pandora station throughout the office — which made me hum and enjoy the visit that much more! The cleaning was very thorough, and they used a water-​lazer cleansing technique that really made my teeth feel awesomely clean. And I’m super anal about my teeth– so the cleaner, the better! Overall, I’m more than happy that I finally made the switch!
P.S They do lots of fun updates/​contests via their social networking — they’re very trendy and technological, which I appreciate!

I was referred to Dr Moossy by multiple friends over the last few months. My experience with Moossy General & Cosmetic Dentistry was just amazing… I can’t say that I have ever been to a dental appt. that felt so ‘at home’ and comforting. Everyone really was just SO NICE!
I really loved their «You’ll feel like our office revolves around you — because it does». The staff was extremely friendly from the moment I walked in until the moment that I left. They have a state of the art facility that is just gorgeous yet, very comfortable and relaxing. I’ll for sure be back and our family will be going to Dr Moossy from here on out.

I have been going to Dr. Moossy for about 3 years now and he has been the best dentist I’ve had. Both himself and his staff are very professional and help you with all your dental needs. His new office is incredible! It very high tech yet its also a very comfortable atmosphere. I have bonding on my teeth and whenever I need to come in, his receptionist fits me in as sion as possible which is rare in his profession. I reccommend him to all my friends and always walk out with a smile on my face.

I was referred to Dr. Moossy via HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) and their dental partner. I had no idea what to expect and it had been about 3 years since I had been to the dentist.
It turned out that in addition to regular cleaning, I needed x-​rays, three fillings, repair of a crown, and full cleaning of plaque below my gums, which had started to recede but would be reversible provided I didn’t let it get worse
I went for two visits over two weeks. The staff was very professional, efficient, and friendly, making really good use of technology (x-​rays with digital pics and a tiny mouth-​cam) to show me exactly what was going on in my mouth. In addition they had a cool text-​message reminder and confirmation system to make sure I didn’t forget.
Dr. Moossy and his entire staff were very friendly and patient. I will definitely try to take better care of my teeth now that my mouth feels so nice.

I love Dr. Moossy. He is so professional and understanding of my dental fears. His staff is extremely helpful and fun to talk to. I had dental insurance when I originally started going to him but I no longer do. The prices are still great compared to the places I have been to in the past (chop shops (i.e Castle Dental) not included… they may be cheaper but I wouldn’t have them touch my worst enemies mouth)
I had gone to my previous dentist for over 10 years and decided to try Dr. Moossy at the recommendation of a friend. I am so glad I did.
