Michael A Laundromat

Even though I have a washer and dryer at home, I needed a bigger unit to wash my large, fluffy white comforter and dry cleaning seemed too outrageous. Generally, I don’t care for laundromats, but I respect their purpose and it always gets the job done. When I came to Michael A. Laundromat, I was prepared with headphones, soap and ready to be glued to my phone for an hour as I anticipated watching my comforter wash and dry. Instead, Michael grabbed my quarters, loaded my comforter and offered to watch my comforter if I wanted to leave and run errands. When I came back, he checked on my comforter, folded it and wrapped it in a bag for me to keep it fresh and clean smelling. When I tried to tip him for my trouble, he gracefully wouldn’t accept! Personally, I’ve never heard of such service before at a laundromat, but I’m extremely pleased by his service. He’s very nice and personable and, having found out about his shop from Unilocal!,I completely see why people give him such a great review. I’ll be coming back to wash my comforter here, and if you are looking for a laundromat to go to THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

My machine just crapped out on me so I decided to give this place a try and I have to say… Excellent customer service and hands down the best laundromat I’ve ever been to!!! Adel was very attentive and helpful. Actually that’s a bit of an understatement… Adel was awesome!!!
He was readily to offer detergent for free when most places would overcharge for their detergent! He helped me fold a few big things like my duvet and comforter. at the end when we were folding my comforter, I noticed a lil stain on the corner of it, we couldn’t tell if it was right after wash n dry or not but he offered to clean it and dry it for me at no cost!!! Talk about over the top customer service! I’m really impressed and I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Amazing customer service, clean and quiet. Adel has been there each time I go and he helps me fold my large items, opens the doors for me while I try to carry too much in/​out and is a genuinely kind guy. It’s quiet and the customers are equally kind and clean. The store right next door has food and drinks in case you need something while doing your laundry. Axel offers wash and fold service as well. I got a great lesson in folding fitted sheets as Adel watched me just stuff them into my basket he said he’d show me.

Came in to do some laundry while on vacation — this place appeared to be the only laundromat open on New Year’s Day. Looked a little ramshackle from the outside, but there were enough machines and a grocery store next to it (if you’d like to get a drink while waiting).
The owner Adel was around, and quickly offered to help us with detergent when he noticed we didn’t have any. He also readily helped us with wifi, and was quick to respond to all our questions. Bonus: he offered us free drying sheets and even helped us wheel our laundry to the dryer machines.
The customer service was unparalleled and brought a smile to our faces. The other reviewers on Unilocal were definitely spot on when they mentioned the great customer service here!

A recent transplant from New York, I am used to same day wash/​dry service, so I was so happy to find Michael! He is amazing at getting through more than a large load of washing same day, keeping lights/​darks separate and promptly contacting me when it’s ready. Highly recommend his speedy and quality service!

A pretty typical laundromat. $ 1.75 for smaller washing machines and $ 3 for larger ones. $ 1 for 25 minutes of dryer time.

Came by here for wash & fold service after reading the positive reviews and having a couple of weeks of laundry piling up at home. Owner was really friendly and accommodating! Only cost about $ 25 for 3 bags of laundry, which is only a few dollars more than doing it myself at a laundromat. I also had left about $ 65 in cash in one of my pockets that I had completely forgotten about. He found it and gave it to me when I picked up my laundry! Amazing quality service, definitely recommend.

The man that runs this laundromat is a rare gem of customer service. We have used this place a few times on and off throughout the years and every time we go back, Adel remembers us and is happy to see us. He is so nice and so helpful, always there with quarters if you need change for dollars, or any help with the machines. He will even help you transfer clothes or fold if you need it. Many times he has helped us get our baskets to and from the car. He is so sweet to all the kids that come in with their parents. About two years ago, our washer/​dryer broke and we were at the laundromat once a week for about two hours at a time. We would put our clothes in, go next door and grab a tall boy and a snack, and wait it out. If you leave while your clothes are in the wash, you can trust Adel they will not be stolen or messed with at all! Really this review is about him! He is so nice!

Went camping this weekend, so I was back at the laundromat with more comforters/​blankets to launder. This time the owner, Adel, was working and he upped my review to 5 stars!
He helped with loading/​adding money/​detergent to all the machines, transferred wet items to the dryer while I was at the car wash, and helped me fold the most cumbersome blanket all with a smile :-)

Wow! Talk about the best laundry experience I’ve ever had! Ha! I never though in a million years I would write a review for a laundromat. Our dryer went out and we found this place in our neighborhood. We pulled in and man inside helped us load everything, put the quarters in, and soap for us! We were so overwhelmed with his helpfulness we didn’t know how to react. We had our daughter with us and he made the experience super easy! We tried to tip him and he refused! If I ever have to go back to laundromat. No matter where I live in Austin. I’ll be driving back to this place!

Adel will wash and fold your clothes for .99 a pound. He charges minimum of $ 12, so bring a decent load. Finished in two hours and texted me when he was done. As a traveler this was very convenient and its cheaper than hotels. It’s out of the way but close to all the hip joints on Lamar.

Small little place. We went late and it looks like the hours on Unilocal are wrong. They closed an hour earlier than we thought — though the gentleman running the place let us finish folding our stuff.
Everything came out very clean. Place is not the newest — but did get the job done.

ADEL IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST! For the entire year that I lived in the neighborhood, I stopped by occasionally to do laundry when I was behind and needed to do multiple loads at once, or have it done when I was extra behind. Adel knows the majority of the people that come in, and he’s friendly to each and every customer. I even asked him if I could have the coupons from the Sunday paper once, and he started saving them for me every Sunday. He’ll offer to put your clothes in the dryer for you if you have to go run an errand or can’t stay to watch your clothes the entire time, and you always see him walking out to cars to help people carry in their laundry.
I can’t say enough great stuff about Adel and his business. It never fails that you see Adel waving at people walking by with their dogs or into the minimart next door, because he’s so friendly that everyone in the neighborhood knows and loves him.
The place isn’t fancy, but the machines all work and do a good job, but the service is what keeps me (and everyone else) going back again and again. If only all businesses had such attentive, friendly owners that worked as hard as Adel!

GO TO THIS MAN!!! Last night my room mate discovered that our friends dog has peed on his bed. The sheets and down comforter were the most soiled. I can’t express how grateful I am to all of the 5 star reviews that led to this being the top cleaner in town. I was surprised to learn it was just a sweet guy who I assume owns the place and does laundry right there in the laundry mat facility. He charged me $ 25 for everything! The down comforter looks incredibly clean, fresh and stain free. Everything was ready before I even made it home from work (I showed up early, around 4p but told him it would be past 7p when I’d come). I can not recommend this man more. Please please please give him the business he deserves. Incredibly professional and I WILL trust him with my future cleaning needs.

I AM IN AWE! I can’t believe how incredibly nice this man is… I was looking for a wash/​fold place that I could drop off due to my busy schedule and no washer/​dryer. Besides the fact that this place is ONLY .99c lb., he is the NICEST person you will ever meet. I had to be somewhere at 9:30 and he was not arriving until 10:30… so he gave me the code to his back room to drop off my clothes. REMARKABLE. He is beyond accommodating to your schedule and can have all of your stuff SAME DAY!
I can’t imagine a better service, and you can’t beat the price… so I always tip well. He deserves it!

So– this might not be the most pristine laundromat, or have the best machines, but quite honestly, it was such a great experience that I would highly recommend using this laundromat! The owner is SUPER attentive and helpful, got me my change, brought me a laundry cart, and even watched my washers while I went to go vacuum my car!
Just don’t go into it expecting a spotless place. A dirty mop bucket with dirty water sat in the corner by two dryers oddly placed that had old stuff on top.
It seemed like this laundromat had a nice neighborhood feel and is probably locally beloved. No mass quantities of laundry were being done here. I’d come again!

Desperately needed clothes washed during two week business trip. This place had great reviews, so I trusted it.
Was so impressed! Man running the place was super friendly and attentive, and was able to get all my laundry done in a matter of hours! I couldn’t believe I could get same-​day service in the evening.
I’ve never had my clothes looking nicer. Everything was carefully pressed or folded. Our clothes were wrapped better than Amazon gift wrapped presents.
I would highly recommend– had two weeks’ worth of clothing cleaned perfectly for $ 25 and in no time at all. Will absolutely use again next time I’m in Austin!

Holy moly, this place is awesome! It’s quiet, lots of machines, super fair pricing, owner on site & willing to teach an ocd folder new tricks! Plus I went next door & made a key! I did the old school laundry (meaning by myself!) but now can fold my undies into nothingness! And living in a trailer space is a premium! I will be back here anytime I need to wash clothes, everything was just so nice!

The owner needs to start teaching all businesses about customer service. He is there and is so helpful it will blow your mind. Why wouldn’t you support him and his business. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I had a huge comforter that needed a good wash. I have a laundry room in my appartment complex but obviously the machines are no good. I was greeted by the owner himself immediately. He took charge right away, helping me sort the massive amount of clothes I brought. He helped me with the machines, made change and even added all my detergent for me while timing all my machines so they finished at the same time and all with a big smile! I felt very comfortable there and will return when I have another laundry overload. He even taught me how to fold my fitted sheets!
